They have two guitarists so Brian can experiment more and not have to focus on being perfect the entire concert. Having Jamie Moses there gives him the chance to try out different things, and it doesn't necessarily mean he's lost his guitar skills.

Agreed. If anything, I think Brian sounds MORE awesome than ever. I think he is SO happy,
re-energized, and fresh on this new tour and his playing reflects that. It sounds very charged and re-invigorated.
The other guitarists are there to do rhythm and allow him to concentrate more on his solos and if anything really stretch out in his playing.
Indeed Jamie is there for the rhythm parts and not because he needs to catch Brian, but apart from that; nope, Brian is unfortunately just a shadow of the guitarplayer he used to be...
(And I'm saying so as a fan and a fellow guitarist...)
I was heavily disappointed by quite some of his 'performaces' on this tour.
But then hearing from him about his disease, it makes it all the more understandable... Respect and good luck to him!!

I am of the opinion that Brian now has evolved a huge Guitar range. Take as example the Wetten Das 2004 thing. Whenn Brian comes on stages and he just has a complete wall of guitar sound. So huge. Way better then his (genius) stuff from like the magic tour. I think (objective seen) that with this sound Brian is without any doubt the best guitarist ever. I can expect some people saying that like Hendrix is way better. But there's more than just playing. You also got to estimate what the public likes and whenn you can use something. Hendrix overdid on his guitar solo's. brian perfectly knew what to do. it's more than just playing the guitar.
If adding guitarplayers to the live performance means to play worse than in the past, does Brian performing Love of my life by himself mean he improved again during the same show?
;)
I think the main reason why Jamie is with them - doing backing vocals. Ofcourse he adds some
ruthm guitar as well for richer sound. And don't forget that Brian is a lead-vocalist on some songs now. So he can concentrate on singing while Jamie provides guitar.
Also I don't think that Brian get worse. Maybe he is less inventive when before, but he is rater old men with his own unique amazing style so he probably doesn’t want inventions anymore…

To say he's the best guitarrist ever because of his sound it's a bit unfair to fellow guitar players. I respect your opinion but he never got close to Van Halen. (Brian is my favourite player but certainly not the best)!
Aside from Van halen you got Malmsteen , Vai ,Satriani, etc, etc, and you could talk about feeling and stuff but Brian is not the best ever.
Take care

Completely agree, Brian is also my favourite guitarist and I dont think anyone can write and play a solo to fit the type of song as well as him, but technically he isnt great and when it comes to improvising it can be painfull to watch/listen.
Talking of Jamie Moses in all fairness to him, he could probably blow Brian off stage, infact take the two lead breaks he gets on the Brixton CD/VHS in Let Your Heart Rule Your Head and Resurrection and you will see what I mean.
