If you are contemplating buying tickets to see the Velvet Revolver tour, let me save you some money. We saw them last night in Charlotte, and I was sorely disappointed. First off, we have to sit through 2 opening acts, one of which was Hoobastank..*yawn* I was wondering if Scott Weiland had ODed backstage, because their show didn't start until around 9:45. This pissed me off, because I had an hour and a half drive to get home. The stage had been ready for them for at least 30 minutes, btw. I was glad to see Slash for the first time, but this was no compensation for Weiland's shitty..umm..performance? The man didn't sing a single note in key and was obviously completely stoned out of his mind. He literally screamed every note, and not a good rock 'n roll scream like Dave Grohl, a I don't give a fuck scream. They were there for a paycheck and not to entertain. After having just seen Green Day live, this concert was especially pathetic. At one point Scott Weiland goes out into the crowd and goes on some rant about record companies and selling out or SOMETHING; however..on the video screens before the show started there was a movie trailer AND an ad for a new Robbie Knievel show with a VR song as the themesong... Anywho..our seats were great..*shock* Too bad the concert wasn't.
