This mp3 is divided into 6 parts. I am sharing all six parts on the hub. I am also starting to upload this to my mini web pages. I have only available one of the six parts on my web pages now. I will add the remaining links tomorrow or Thursday. ALL 6 LINKS ARE WORKING NOW. link link link link link link I tried creating a torrent, but the torrent software did not like "dashes" even though I eliminated them later. If anyone else wants to create a torrent - feel free. Otherwise, I will try again tommorrow or Thursday. Sorry this is not complete yet, but it is 12:30 AM, and I need to work tomorrow. Enjoy |

Excuse me for my inexperience, but I've been interested to the bootleg only recently. I've read more times about rarity of the Houston 77 bootleg, but I don't understand if is that one in 27/02/77 or in 11/12/77. I've download the show with this setlist: We Will Rock You (Fast) Death On Two Legs (Dedicated To...... Killer Queen Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy I'm In Love With My Car Get Down, Make Love The Millionaire Waltz You're My Best Friend Tie Your Mother Down My Melancholy Blues My Melancholy Blues (uncut) We Will Rock You We Are The Champions and I believe that it is that one of December. This new one seems a different show... Please, excuse me for my inexperience, for my bad english... and help me to understand. :P Thanks! |
Fenderek 18.05.2005 08:32 |
It's december. The setlist you mentioned is the prviously avaliable version, much shorter, edited and of a pretty bad sound quality. The one here is full show, great sound, but... in mp3.If it doesn't bother you- enjoy, it's an awesome show! |

Penetration_Guru 18.05.2005 09:57 |
Interesting. The "old" edited version sounds in some ways better than this, obviously soundboard recording - vocals especially are easier to hear on the audience version. Plus, there's no way the tracklisting on the "complete" version is correct - Brighton Rock second track? I think not... |

Well, the Brighton rock (the second track in NOTW tour) is just short, mostly vocal part of that song and the rest usually comes later as a Guitar solo ... |

Even PG has a rare brain fart now and then ... After work, I will upload the remaining files to my web pages. In the next 12 hours or so, the remaining 5 links should be available (uploading is slow on my cable connection, but downloading is fast). I estimate I have about two hours of uploading to do. I probably will not have time tonight to figure out why my torrent does not work. ...and of course, this concert is available on the hub. I am nearly 100% sure what I have is genuine - based on my recollection of seeing Houston 77 several times at the Breakthru conventions. Houston 77 has some unique features in my opinion. LOML has an almost studio feel to it, Liar has a short calming lull after the percussion and guitar intro, KYA has guitar effects (like fireworks?) during the drum solo, and WWRY has a slightly different feel. |

All can download this the exactly same way as from Rapidshare. So why to bother... The other side is, that it's necessary to count with higher server data load. |

Question... Will these MP3 files be 'seamless' when put together on a cd, or will there be either i- a 2-second gap or ii- some noticable change in the overall sound (overlap etc...) Just curious. Incidentally, RIP's first part of the show sound's GREAT. I've not heard this before and it really sounds great. Is this an audience recording or soundboard? Can't wait to hear more!! Cheerzzz |

I hope this does not turn into torrent bashing thread. So far it seems like every one is mildly joking about some of occasional glitches that torrents occasionally have. Remember that Richard (and many others) worked very hard to bring us torrents. "Sharing the Music" used to only have a few posts a day (as I recall). Now, primarily because of torrents, "Sharing the Music" is alive, vibrant, and teeming with activity. |

Hi, I generally prefer Mp3s (there are easier to handle with a modem conection) and would be very happy if you upload the rest of this concert. It sounds very interesting and got a much better sound then the some time ago announced incomplete version. It is also no question if Earls Court or this is better - because in june 77 there were no NOTW material include in the setlist. Every recording stands for his own. thanx for sharing! Tim |
Saint Jiub 18.05.2005 17:09 |
The torrent was mp3 converted to WMA? Why? There are not too many WMA files being shared? Are there? Wasn't WMA a Microsoft big brother ham-handed invention to prevent copying of files? I was going to do your torrent, as your files may be slightly better quality, but the WMA format is a slight turn off for me. |

These are Mr Scully's comments about Houston on his queenconcerts.com webpage: Comment: Excellent quality; (soundboard) audio version of possibly the most famous pirate Queen video :-) One of the best Queen live audio recordings ever. A couple of small drop-outs that are on the video too (White Man). No Spread Your Wings? No Prophet's Song reprise? Strange. Are you insinuating that Mr Scully is an idiot too. I doubt it. There wust be some other issue that disturbs you. |
willem-jan 8923 23.05.2005 01:28 |
No, don't have any problem, but this topic has been handled before. Pretty extensively that is. And now you show up, and share this great concert. Then people still are asking for the "complete" version. They don't want to get the idea that this is all there is. No matter if SYW is played or not, it's not on this recording. So be happy, and don't question whether this version is complete or not. |
Saint Jiub 23.05.2005 02:35 |
I shared Houston because of a few immature elite traders (the dutch boys) were bragging about leaking Houston, but doing nothing except bragging about Uruguay 83. Now you have the gall to question what is a politically correct question about a semi-rare concert. Even Mr Scully questioned whether why SYW or tPs was missing from this concert. Your self-rightousness about questions asked does nothing but spark resentment from those outside the trading community. |

And I very appreciate Mike, who didn't talk too much, but put this concert out first. Great Sir, you are the man! The rest Mike speaks about seems to me, unfortunately, true too. No. As you have it here on mp3, some have in audio. There ain't no SYW. Forget the Greg Brooks book- it's full of shit. He also claims that Hangman and Stone Cold Crazy were played at Golders Green. Yeah, right. Or that the soundcheck before Oxford New Theatre is a fake and is a compilation of few other shows from this period. Yeah, right... Had he heard that stuff prior to writing the book...? Nope... PS Will ask differently. WHERE would those track be...? Listen to the recording and find me obvious cuts and tell me- those tracks fit HERE. The vocal improvisation ends and there's simply no roo for The Prophet's Song reprise. Just for the record- I don't have a problem with a bootleg being out. it's great it has been shared. But... I would have expected it to be just a little bit more spectacular, for some strange reason... I thought people REALLY wanted it... |

The show suddenly became just... one of few. Reading this thread it's only "thanks", "cheers", that's it. Just like "Knebworth" one or anything that had been shared here before... I would have thought it's gonna be more appreciated or more spectacular. C'mon- so many years of talking about the show and when it's out... I didn't take the effort of downloading it, because I've got it on CD-R (not mp3 sourced). But what do you guys think of the show as a whole. People really wanted to know every little bit of details of this show, but now that it's out, people don't seem to care. It's just one of the many. So, are you happy now, or just wanting more more more more more...... I don't bother if this show is out or not. I'm not a big-time trader. Just traded a few shows, one of them being this show. I really think it's an excellent show, and am still very happy to own this recording. But somehow, I get the feeling people are still not happy until they have the "complete" show. |

OK then. But after all, this is the Sharing music forum. I think, that the debate about this gig belongs probably more to the Queen serious discussion. And more to it - as I know, this show was speaked about many many times, and maybe here isn't much more space to analyse. And yes, there always will be people, who'll think, there is something here or there hidden, what is lost or what is absent from whatever reasons. The same situation, as Elvis Presley death. If they want to trust in something, nobody won't convince them of opposite. We should live with it. Maybe I'm wrong, but this is, how I see it. Libor PS. BTW, the concert is great (with great sound), but - and try to face it - it's really one amongst others. The best thing for me, that it's from the Queen era I like the most and with superb sound. |

The sound is awesome, so is the setlist, it has the most beautiful version of "Love Of My Life" (with the audience it just sounds like a football chant...- here Freddie's singing it superbly!) but overall it's faaaar from being the best gig thy have ever played. The rarer the better...? |

And everyone of us can compare and make the decision by ourself. I'm glad I'm not the only one, who felt it this way. |

It's one of the tracks that starts in silence. SHA starts about a third of the way in. And as for the encore breaks(audience waiting), they don't go together. After TYMD is the first encore break. Then they coe back and do WWRY and WATC. Then there is another encore break (hence the silence at the start of SHA) and then SHA segues into Jailhouse Rock and then comes GSTQ. Correct me if I'm wrong. |
deleted user 23.05.2005 17:12 |
mine does TYMD, encore, some sort of WWRY tune, WATC, audience break (which is silent all the way throuhg) and this track has appeared form nowhere, ebing SHA! ok its appeared from nowhere! |
Saint Jiub 23.05.2005 17:18 |
As I recall from the Breakthru conventions, the Houston video has a silent psuedo slide show between the encores. If I am right about this, this may explain the silence before SHA. |

Saint Jiub 23.05.2005 21:54 |
Prometheus???? link I did not steal Houston. It was given to me with a blessing to share it. Beside only QPL owns Houston, and Jim Beach refuses to release it. With that in mind, I do not consider myself a thief. Oh well, I suppose in the eyes of the record industry I am a thief. Glad you are enjoying Houston. I was lucky to be given the opportunity to share it. All I did was spend a few hours setting Houston up for sharing. Many others would have immediately done the same thing if given the opportunity. What I did was somewhat significant, but not that special. |
