Green Day..
| Erin 20.04.2005 10:02 |
I'm goin' to see them in Charlotte tonight! We'll have to give a big cheer when they play We are the Champions..:-) Maybe I'll yell.."YEAH, QUEEN, WOOOO!!!" *lol* |
| Smitty 20.04.2005 10:28 |
I dont |
| Smitty 20.04.2005 10:31 |
Maybe I was kidding about the I don't thing because there is this kid I know in school who would play Green Day all of the time and when you are in a studyhall listening to the same song from a band that you don't regard as your favorite over and over and over again... IT GETS INCREASINGLY ANNOYING! |
| Mr.Jingles 20.04.2005 10:35 |
That makes 3 of us so far going to see Green Day. Amanda will be seeing them next month, and I'll be waiting until September when they play at Giants Stadium. |
| Mr Mercury 20.04.2005 10:58 |
I didnt think that much of Green Day until I saw them on Storytellers recently. Not bad at all. And the icing on the cake? Well check my sig and you'll find a very nice quote!!! |
| Lisser 20.04.2005 12:37 |
Have fun Erin!!! |
| Mayboy 20.04.2005 14:11 |
Have a great time Erin! :) |
| Sonia Doris 20.04.2005 15:01 |
haaaaaave fun! |
| dragonzflame 20.04.2005 19:11 |
I hope they don't play Boulevard of Broken Dreams three times in an hour like some radio stations here do...It's an okay song but sheesh. |
| Gunpowder Gelatine 20.04.2005 22:02 |
Lucky! I'd love to see them. They were great on Storytellers. |
| inu-liger 20.04.2005 22:04 |
They play Edmonton on May 19th. I MIGHT go for sure, depending if tickets are still available on or after the 30th this month (cos that's when me and my dad both get paid - my dad might likely use his credit card to make the purchase for me) Hey, I have a question for those of us here who have been to concerts WITH photo cameras: What is the most discreet ways (or interesting ways) that you guys have managed to get cameras past security? (And I don't want to hear bribing, cos I can't afford it! lol!) |

Green Day f**king ROCKED!!:-) That was one of THE most crowd participatory shows I think I have ever been to. Billie Joe was doing Freddie vocals with the crowd...(the fact that they are Queen fans was pretty evident.:-)) They played We are the Champions, and the guy that plays guitar for them was playing a RED SPECIAL replica..cool, eh? I honestly didn't know what to expect from Green Day, but they won me over big time. Amanda and Jingles...y'all are gonna have a blast. |
| Lisser 21.04.2005 10:37 |
I'm so glad you had a great time!! I wonder if they are coming to Cincinnati!!! I'll have to check them out! |
| PieterMC 21.04.2005 11:02 |
I don't think they are going there on this leg of their tour. |
| deleted user 21.04.2005 12:56 |
Glad the show was so good, Erin and Pieter! It looked pretty obvious from Storytellers that GD are awesome live. Up until this morning, I was actually expecting that I wouldn't get to go to the show. On Friday I planned to buy them after i got my paycheck and then on Sunday, I tried to buy the tickets but they kept telling me to try back later. So..I kinda gave up...BUT...I checked this morning and bought two tickets. YEAH-YEAH! ;^) Looking sooooo forward to it! |
| Sonia Doris 21.04.2005 13:55 |
coooool :D |

Excellent, Pieter...I am even more excited now that you two have given your comments about the show. :^) Btw...could you all list some of the songs you remember them performing? I am curious what to expect as far as the setlist is concerned. |
| PieterMC 21.04.2005 14:27 |
Ummm, this is not way complete or in the correct order (apart from the first three songs) Intro: 2001: A Space Odyssey American Idiot Jesus of Suburbia Holiday Are We Waiting St. Jimmy Wake Me Up When Sepetember Ends Knowledge (Operation Ivy Song) Longview Basket Case Hitchin' a Ride Minority Shout Boulevard Of Broken Dreams We Are The Champions Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) When are you going to see them? |
| deleted user 21.04.2005 14:36 |
Thanks for the list, Pieter. Looks like a pretty good collection of songs. I'll be seeing them on May 14th...which when I consider how soon that is, it isn't much of a surprise that I had so much trouble getting tickets. |
| deleted user 21.04.2005 14:39 |
Oh, and did you all buy any merchandise? I plan to take some extra cash to buy somethin'. ;^) |
| PieterMC 21.04.2005 14:46 |
Erin got a program ($15) and a t-shirt ($25) |
| deleted user 21.04.2005 14:54 |
Okay, cool, thanks... I think that's probably what I'll do too. |
| Mr.Jingles 21.04.2005 15:36 |
Venue sellers love to completely rip people off. They charge 30-40 bucks for a T-shirt, and 5 for a small bottle of water. The worst part is that the greedy bastards won't even allow people to bring your their own water. Now back to the t-shirts, if the shirt is really cool and at a considerable price I might buy it. 25 bucks is not bad for a shirt considering what they usually charge. |

PieterMC wrote:I remember going to see Bon Jovi at Giants Stadium 4 years ago and they did covers of 'Shout' and 'Twist and Shout'. People went completely fuckin' nuts when they played those two. I thought $25 for a t-shirt was not bad for a concert these days. You rarely seen them under $35. The parking was also not too bad, only $6. |
| deleted user 21.04.2005 18:38 |
I have seen some pretty cool Green Day t-shirts at Hot Topic, but I haven't gotten one yet. I think I will just get one at the concert out of sentimentality. The worst part about concert merchandise is the stickers...I mean c'mon, $6-$7 for a piece of paper with sticky stuff on the back of it? Please. ;^) |
| inu-liger 21.04.2005 20:00 |
No answers for my question...? :( |
| Erin 21.04.2005 23:47 |
Didn't notice your question, Dark. I've only brought a camera into like one or two concerts. I think I stuck it down my pants or something.:-) There were lots of folks at the Green Day show taking pics, but I imagine most were taken with their phones. They can't stop that nowadays. |

Most ticket stubs have written on them whether cameras are allowed or not. |
| kurgan21 22.04.2005 14:57 |

I have a good old-fashioned 35mm camera (about slightly larger than a wallet). That's why I was asking. |

I had two tickets for the Jacksonville show but sadly had no way of getting there. It seems like my ride dropped out at the last moment... link If you go there, she had a genious site. She has alot of updates everyday and her tour section is pretty loaded. Great site. I almost live there. |
| wstüssyb 22.04.2005 18:11 |
didnt they play when I come around? Loved that song when it came back out way back in 95 |
| LiveAidQueen 22.04.2005 18:17 |
I have Jesus Of Suburbia and Holiday from Storytellers, if anyone wants it, I could try to send it...JOS is so beautiful, it keeps building up and building up, I love it so much. |

Sorry you won't be able to go, Kayla. That's too bad. :^( |
