Hey!
Just to let all you Hitch Hiker fans know, The movie, Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galxy will be out very soon. I can't wait. The previews look excellent. Just though i would teel you all.
I don't like their choice of casting and also I don't like their costume ideas. I think they are trying to make it look like star wars. Nothing wrong with Star Wars but this is not it. It's completely different. but I am reserving judgement for untill I've seen it and I am really looking foreward to it! As long as they have a good narrator (Terry Jones was awesome in the BBC series) I will enjoy it.
Be fair PG - it's not as if she picked someone entirely unconnected to Adams in any way shape or form.
Although it's true I don't think Terry's ever had any connection to the various incarnations of The Guide... Oh actually, he did write the "Starship Titanic" novel, which given that said starship was first mentioned back in one of the trilogy, surely makes it a spin-off?
:-D
You don't like the casting? I didn't pay attention to much of it, but I thought Alan Rickman just perfect! Of course, he's one of my absolute favourite actors, and he's got the most incredible voice(!), but still...
Ja ne!
Alan Rickman does seem good, but I think a lot of fans were hoping that as Stephen Moore was the only member of the original cast who could realistically be expected to be cast again in his original role, he would be. Still, for the classic Marvin voice we've still got the... um... Quartery??? I forget. Anyway. We've still got that phase to look forward to on Radio 4.
Didn't fill me with great optimism to learn that Zaphod Beeblebrox has only got one head, because they couldn't fund the special effects to give him his second.
Mind you, I can't talk. If there's corners to be cut, I'll cut the bastards.
It'll be great when it's out. I can't wait. Zaphod will only have one head in the film? I love the series and all the extras on the DVD. I wonder if Red Dwarf the movie will be oput soon. Wasn't that meant to be being made?
The Red Dwarf movie has been stuck in development hell for about six or seven years now. I doubt it'll ever see the light of day, personally. Which given the quality of the series after the Grant - Naylor split, is probably no bad thing.
Apparently filming starts for RD movies begins in July. It's being filmed, apparently, on the Sunshine Coast/Queensland, Australia.
I have to admit Series 7 was not my favourite. KETCHUP? *explosion*
Aaaahhhh!!! Sorry. Yes. Terry Jones is awesome too.
But I don't see how you can have a Zaphod with only one head. I mean, his brains are such a big part of the story. Oh well. Like I say, I'm trying not to judge it before I see it.
I would have agreed about Red Dwarf, if HH didn't actaully exist. If this can make it out of development hell, anything can.
No complaints about casting - I'm trying to be open about it.

Series 7 of Red Dwarf is probably my least favorite. I really like series 1,3,4,5,8.

That's a good point - and in a year when we've had the Hitch-Hiker's Guide movie finally turning up, brand-new Doctor Who *and* a Quatermass re-make, I suppose anything's possible!
They'll be bringing back The Tomorrow People next... God help us...
