That's great, Lore! You will not be disappointed, I'm sure. She's one of rock's finest live singers. Have fun! |
Mr.Jingles 03.03.2005 18:32 |
Chances are that she will probably bring her harajuku girls wearing L.A.M.B. clothes while Gwen sings those crappy songs from her solo album. Can't wait for the next No Doubt album. At least then we'll see 4 talented musicians working as a team, instead of 4 Japanese girls giving a fashion show. |

Don't be such a negative nancy all the friggin' time! :ppp |
jericho05 03.03.2005 18:35 |
At any rate she is smokin' hot! |

instead of 4 Japanese girls giving a fashion show. Nothing wrong with fine Asian chicks showing off =) |

When talented musicians care more about their image and fashion style than the quality of their music, that's when their songs start to suck. |
Hitman 03.03.2005 18:45 |
yes i think she will bring the four japanese lambs... This is GLAM of new millennium :P is it true Amanda? ;) |
iGSM 03.03.2005 18:48 |
I too am annoyed by those 'harajuku' girls. Does she reference them in ALL of her solo songs? |
Mr.Jingles 03.03.2005 18:51 |
Hopefully the harajuku girls thing will be just for her solo stuff. Imagine Gwen going back with No Doubt and bringing the harajuku girls along with her? That'd be like the ultimate nightmare of a No Doubt fan. |
deleted user 03.03.2005 18:51 |
I have no complaints, Lore. :^) If Gwen chooses to express herself through designing clothing, then why shouldn't she? (For the record, I am not even fond of the Harajuku Girls and I will be glad when they are gone. BUT I am not going to complain in the meantime, cos it does no good and why should I care if Gwen is taking a new angle for a little while? And of course they will leave when she goes back with ND. They are strictly a part of her dance album.) And I STILL say you are a negative nancy, Jingles. Times 20. ;^P |
deleted user 03.03.2005 18:54 |
And no, iGSM, she doesn't reference to them in all of her songs. I'll admit to rolling my eyes when hearing the reference to them in "Rich Girl" myself...lol |
Mr.Jingles 03.03.2005 18:56 |
See Amanda, even you admit the harajuku girls are annoying. They're to a No Doubt fan what Jar Jar Binks is to a Star Wars fan. |
deleted user 03.03.2005 18:58 |
Yes, they annoy me as well. But I'm not going to get bent out of shape because of them. They are easy enough to ignore. :^) I'm not so sure they reach the level of Jar Jar Binks' annoyingness, but I could be wrong... He was pretty bad...lol |
Hitman 03.03.2005 19:04 |
Mr.Jingles79 wrote: They're to a No Doubt fan what Jar Jar Binks is to a Star Wars fan.lol this was good! not the perfect sentence to pick up a girl in a pub, but it was fun ;) well one thing is annoying when you don't like it but you see it often. Gwen will be here tomorrow,i'll tell you what she will perform. goodnight ;) |
iGSM 03.03.2005 19:05 |
They don't talk. That's good enough for me. |
Mr.Jingles 03.03.2005 19:07 |
Well the good thing is that the harajuku girls won't be around for too along, and they might be just there for the L.A.M.B. album promotion performances. Now back to Gwen's solo album. It's not all bad, but she's picking the worst songs as singles. There's a couple of songs there like 'Cool' that have an 80s vibe and the seem quite enjoyable. |
deleted user 03.03.2005 19:07 |
I would tell you what she will perform but I won't ruin the surprise. :^D |
deleted user 03.03.2005 19:13 |
I was wondering when you would come out and admit that SOME of her songs on the album were good. I just had to be patient. ;^) I understand your feelings on the singles, but it was obvious she would release "Rich Girl" b/c is included Eve on it and that certainly would help Gwen out. I do think it is kinda silly to release every track that has mentions of the Harajuku Girls, because her album is NOT only about them. There are plenty of other great songs like "Crash," "Serious," or "Cool" that would do well as singles, I think. But I am afraid to tell you that I am pretty sure "Harajuku Girls" is the next single, because there was a contest on MTV for people to enter to be in her next video (which I entered, but of course, was not chosen) and it was being filmed in Japan. Just a hunch on my part, of course. I do think it is a mistake to release this track as her next single, even though I like the song pretty well. |
Daburcor? 03.03.2005 19:27 |
I really dislike her solo album... It was a let down. But, I guess not EVERY album can be as good as 'Tragic Kingdom'. :P |
Mr.Jingles 03.03.2005 19:27 |
I'm gonna have to agree with you on the fact that songs like 'Crash', 'Danger Zone', 'Serious' and 'Cool' are great songs. The reason why they're probably not being picked as singles is because Gwen (or most probably Interscope Records) think they're too retro. I will admit that the whole thing with the L.A.M.B. clothing line bothers me. Maybe because I'm a guy and I couldn't care less about fashion as long as the music is good, and I think Gwen is giving way too much attention to fashion. |
Mr.Jingles 03.03.2005 19:32 |
Dan Corson wrote: I really dislike her solo album... It was a let down. But, I guess not EVERY album can be as good as 'Tragic Kingdom'. :PTragic Kingdom is a masterpiece. I also liked 'Return Of Saturn' and 'Rock Steady', but 'Tragic Kingdom' is one of those very few albums that you could listen completely without skipping one single song. Perhaps the reason why the following 2 weren't as good was because Eric Stefani left, and he had a huge influence on that album. Maybe if 'The Simpsons' gets cancelled, Eric Stefani might join 'No Doubt' again. ...then who knows, No Doubt might make another album as good as 'Tragic Kingdom'. |
deleted user 03.03.2005 19:37 |
You are probably right about Interscope having say in what songs are her singles, though it's a bit difficult for me to believe they would choose "Harajuku Girls" over "Crash" or "Serious" considering "Harajuku Girls" does not exactly strike you as a song you'd hear on the radio over and over again. I'll be honest, I think your dislike of LAMB probably is because you're a guy. As you probably know, lots of women are big fans of fashion. I am not one for designer clothing, but because Gwen is basically my all-time hero, I am so glad she puts out clothing, etc., because I love her unique style and now I get to have a piece of that when I purchase something she designed. As for her giving too much attention to it, she really does have every right to venture into other areas other than music. She is a musician, yes, but that doesn't mean she can't go into other areas and try things out, right? And the fact that she loved sewing with her mother and grandmother growing up proves that this is another love of hers (probably second to music), so I can't say I blame her for indulging a little bit. |
deleted user 03.03.2005 19:40 |
It would be awesome to hear their next album, considering each album had a different vibe to it. |
iGSM 03.03.2005 19:44 |
I saw an interview with her saying she never expected to venture out in to the fashion world. What you see with L.A.M.B is what she is. Apparently. I can't remember. I was too busy laughing at that bloke in No Doubt who was naked and did something or other. Not sure on the details on that either. |
Mr.Jingles 03.03.2005 19:49 |
I have to say that Gwen is not praticularly my favorite No Doubt memeber... yet, don't get me wrong, I love Gwen and she's an awesome musician and performer but after reading about what goes deep inside the band I have to say that my favorites are Tony Kanal and Tom Dumont because they are the ones who for the most part work on the music. Although I shouldn't forget Gwen's lyrics because without them, the songs would lose a lot of soul. |
deleted user 03.03.2005 19:50 |
Adrian...yeah, he likes nudity. I was glad he wore a very fetching tennis skirt at the concert I attended. Btw...I am coming into a lot of money this next week and I plan to add another LAMB handbag to my collection. I know this doesn't make you guys happy, but still. ;^P |
deleted user 03.03.2005 19:52 |
I think all of the members give something good to the band. They all work so well together and have something awesome to give. |
Mr.Jingles 03.03.2005 19:52 |
iGSM wrote: I was too busy laughing at that bloke in No Doubt who was naked and did something or other. Not sure on the details on that either.LOL, gotta love Adrian Young. The guy is a total clown. Whenever you see him he's either naked or wearing girl's clothes. Gwen should get rid of the Harajuku girls, and call Adrian to wear her L.A.M.B. clothes. |

Kinda scary that he was the first one married AND the first to be a parent. |

i love the solo album. but i've loved all no doubt stuff way back to the beacon street collection...i saw them in '95 at a small theatre in vancouver...what a show...my first live show...i was 15. i'm definately an old school no doubter:P |
Hitman 04.03.2005 09:35 |
i love the early no doubt, the old rocksteady band :) and the tragic kingdom masterpiece. The rest is good anyway. A cool band...less than 6 hours and i'll see Gwen show =)) |

I've been a fan since '95, too. That makes me feel very old in a scary way. |

I have watched her performance:She mimed Rich Girl with the girls dancing. I liked her dress style, not too exagerated, mainly a black tight trousers and a black bra. Then a small interview to focus her italian origins, her cd and the Aviator movie. And she left the stage. She looked a bit scared for the audience, 'cos the Ariston theatre was mostly filled with adult people rather than young people (but they gave her a warm welcome ;) ) hope to see you soon Gwen! |

When Gwen Stefani appeared on the Jonathan Ross show (here in the UK), she brought the harajuku girls with her, much to the amusement of Ross and comedian Peter Kay who was also on the show that night. Ross asked Stefani if one of the girls could give him a hand job backstage (the look on Gwen's face was priceless). Also, Peter Kay tried to offer each of the girls a plate of Hob-Nob biscuits, but sadly they all completely ignored him apart from one lady who was struggling to keep a straight face... Altogether, it was a very funny interview! |
eggy 16.03.2005 05:59 |
Sorry but that Rich Girl song is awful! The first single was alright and I quite like some no doubt stuff, however Rich Girl should be removed from airplay, just to save my sanity. Sorry Alli! :) |

The fact that you said her first single was pretty good just saved your life, eggy.... kidding!! ;^) |
Mayboy 16.03.2005 08:02 |
I love Rich Girl! i find myself singing it at college and embarrasing myself lol I hope she releases more solo work i think it sounds fresh and different :) |
Mr.Jingles 16.03.2005 08:47 |
Gwen seems to take those Harajuku girls just about everywhere. She probably even goes to take a crap with them, although they come in handy when you find out that there's no T.P. and need someone to go run to get you some. The only one who doesn't seem to complain about the Harajuku girls is Gavin Rossdale, since Gwen takes them to bed with her. |
LiveAidQueen 16.03.2005 15:13 |
I will watch it, she's really cool and I like her solo songs alot. |
