I've found an mp3 of an interesting live performance of Green Day:they sing We are the champions. -A bunch of drunken....- :D
no seriously a part some little things not perfect it's a nice version with a long and nice finale!
hope you have that one so you can give me your point of view.
bye
I didn't listen to it, but I am sure it is Green Day because I read an article about them and they mentioned that they had included "We Are the Champions" in their set list.
I am not surprised, because I also read that they were highly influenced by Queen when creating "American Idiot."

The intro sounded quite akward, but it eventually got better in the end.
Yes, it is Green Day link
I don't fancy this version as much as their cover of The Clash's 'I Fought The Law', which I downloaded from Itunes and it sounds superb.
In the Feb 24 issue of Rolling Stone, Matt Hendrickson, author of the Green Day article, comments on their Brixton Academy concert...
"an hour later, Green Day encore with an utterly sincere cover of Queen's 'We Are the Champions.' The entire crowd sings along......
Also, of small note, is that lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong, for the new album, wanted to write the 'Bohemian Rhapsody' of the future.
'American Idiot' isn't that...but it's pretty damn good stuff.
