is anybody learning to drive at the moment? its abit random but i wanted to share my inability to drive with everyone on the whole wide world :-s any tips anyone? lol o dear. xxx
I have a hint. Get in your car with no one else (while it's off) and practice changing gears by making the noises of the engine. Helped me. Also never change from 5th to 2nd or change from 2nd to 5th. Aieeeee!
Keep practicing - you'll get the hang of it very quickly. Drive as much as you can - to the shops, taking the cat to the vet, whenever. Too many people make the mistake of having driving sessions but it's better to keep doing it as much as possible. Also try empty parking lots - they're really good for learning how to drive in a straight line and change gears (or at least from first to second).
OR DO BURN OUTS! Of sensibility.
I'm the son of a cop. Naturally I'm exceptionally talented at driving.
Anywho empty car lots are the best.. although I never did any in there I see learners all the time in there.
I was a terrible driver when I first started out! I failed my first road test because I ran a stop sign. I'm not kidding. A few months later, I took the test again, and passed, but the instructor told me flat out that she could have failed me easily on that, because I parallel parked in the middle of the road. Later on that day, when I was parking, I accidentally mixed up the gas with the brake, and drove onto the grass at my dance school, and some little kid's Dad had to drive my car back onto the parking lot.
But I'm much better now :) I haven't done a stupid thing in months! (well, I have, but not whilst driving, lol) Just keep practicing. I made the mistake of not driving much at all for the 3 months before my test, and I think that's a big reason of why I did so horribly. Don't worry, you'll definitely get better. Trust me, I've been there, I would know!

I always wanted to be a bus driver, but unfortunately they have to deal with too much shit these days. In my ideal world, kids under 16 would be banned without a responsible adult (that should sort a lot of passengers out in one fell swoop), those accompanied by an adult would be banned from taking up seats, and bloody great pushchairs , plus their owners, would be banned.
But anyway, I LOVE driving. And I prefer motorway driving to normal roads. Today I was on the M1 and I'd just like to thank the tosser in the shit-coloured Peugeot 307 who carved me up at 70+ mph because when his junction came up he was in the outside lane, and then couldn't get off because of an HGV in the nearside lane which I was in the process of overtaking legitimately.
But don't let that put you off ;o)

I love you.

Thank you. I could go on, but I'll leave it there ;o)

As I said, I love driving but just remember it's every man/woman for him/herself out there. Don't be intimidated. And when you're being tailgated, remember your brake pedal is the middle one! LOL!

You poor thing - on top of everything else, you're on the wrong side of the Pennines as well - LOL!
I find myself hoping and praying for an old bus to come that won't let pushchairs on (unless they're folded, and how many people can be arsed to fold them these days?) - I am SO bad.
