I was just wondering if any of you has. Because I want to meet Brian and Roger. |
Penetration_Guru 06.02.2005 14:40 |
The trick is to be in the same location at the same time...and yes, lots of us have managed it. Sorry to be flippant, but what do you expect - home addresses? |
inu-liger 06.02.2005 16:22 |
I've had 4 e-mails from Brian (2 long, 2 short) between September 2003 and July 2004 (the last two, when I had a guess at his mystery guitar - he still owes me that chocolate biscuit he promised me, lol!). That's as close as I may ever get to meeting Brian. For people relating to Queen in one way or another, I've had (and still exchange) e-mails with Greg Brooks, who is Queen's official archivist for those newbies who don't know who he is. He's an awesome guy, really! I've also spoken to him twice on the phone. Currently, I'm about to write articles for a book he is writing (can't spill any details at the moment about the book, sorry! Would rather keep this to myself), since he enjoyed a short (or long) paragraph I wrote for him, which eventually I will share with you guys someday. I've also had an e-mail or two from Queen producer Justin Shirley-Smith, who gave me some very valuable information about the digital tapes Queen used from The Works sessions and onwards (I did share it once, dunno if Sebastian saw it or not, as he would have loved what Justin wrote to me) |

I stood within five feet of Brian May in 1998 when I was 12. I couldn't get an autograph, but he waved at me :-) I waited in the blistering heat for two hours just for that! :-) |
Adam Baboolal 07.02.2005 09:30 |
Met Brian after WWRY - got an autograph and a smidgen of banter. Nice guy. Peace, Adam. |

To Penetration Guru: Not all of us are so smart as you are to know their whereabouts at all times in order to strategically catch them at the right time. And not all of us live in the UK either where they reside/show their faces most of the time. Get off your high horse and cut people some slack. |
Queen T 07.02.2005 16:51 |
My apologies Penetration Guru and everyone... I tend to let my fingers type before I tap into my sarcastic sense of humor... I guess I was just trying to defend an innocent inquiring mind who would only dream of meeting the musician(s)he admires. Should get a sense of humor I guess, huh? You're right, really can't go knocking on doors...maybe I'm slightly jealous cause it would be hard for me to meet them myself living in the US...dream on, huh? Once again, I'm sorry... |

Yep after several hours at Stafford after DATR gig. All very courteous (yeah and autos)unfortunately then failed the exam I was taking next day! oh well. Roger on first Cross tour at Hummingbird in Birmingham-class bloke shared a beer and autos on photo. Ah sweet memories. |

Met Brian at Piccadilly Radio before the Maine road gig in 1986. Met him (briefly) in the freezing cold at Hammersmith in '93. Before and after the Cozy tribute show at Buxton, bit odd that one, but he was chatty. Again on the Another World Tour in Manchester, shook my hand and spoke to me. Met Roger in Glasgow on Electric Fire tour. Marred by some knobhead barging past me (even though he'd only just got there) and annoying Roger with his anal ramblings. Also he and Debbie passed me and me mates in the street in Manchester on the day of his show and we just stood there like idiots and smiled and said hello as he passed. Rather do that than embarrass myself doing something stupid. Finally, got through on a World Service programme on the radio and spoke to Brian and Roger on the phone, bizarre experience. No luck in the meetings - days of the shows. And I waited for 15 years to meet Roger and it was all too brief, ah well. |

I met Brian in Toronto HMV when he was promoting Innuendo and he's emailed me as well. Class guy. A friend of mine met Brian and Roger on an airplane in the early eighties. I didn't believe her, but she had the pics to prove it. |

I met Brian and Roger last September in Vegas. I was in shock. It was awesome. |

I envy all of you who have met any member of Queen. Well...I have a simple question. Has anybody ever seen Brian at his own guitar shop? |
brian_may_wannabe 08.02.2005 03:55 |
Didn't know Brian had a guitar shop?! Where is it? |
gnomo 08.02.2005 04:06 |
Brian HASN'T got a guitar shop at all - he simply played guitar at the opening party of A FRIEND'S guitar shop in London last year: Barry Moorhouse's "House of Guitars", 8 January 2004 (check Bri's site for story and pictures). HTH -- Gnomo |
brian_may_wannabe 08.02.2005 04:32 |

Anyway, thanks! (I can't stop laughing for a while. :D ) |

Voice of Reason 2018 08.02.2005 07:32 |
I met Freddie in Dublin in 1984, Roger in London in 1994 Roger and Brian in Warsaw in 1996. Haven't met Deaky yet - maybe on this tour? |
Queen T 08.02.2005 09:12 |
Voice of Reason: What was it like meeting Freddie? What did he say? Was he pleasant and charming? You are so lucky!!! |
Voice of Reason 2018 08.02.2005 10:56 |
Hammer - I'm afraid he didn't say anything and I basically forced him to shake hands. He didn't speak to anyone else who was waiting for him, didn't sign anything and was whisked straight into the hotel by his minders. He didn't seem in good form! The other three members of the band had gone out partying and avoided us by going in the back door. Ah, a special night indeed - precious memories! |
daniboy 08.02.2005 11:29 |
I want to meet john and tell him how much i appreceate him for not doing this q+pr thing.... Although bri and rog both are a very big part of my life as a huge queen fan-i cant accept the tour. It makes me sad to think that bri and rog will be one one stage as "queen" without john and freddie.. It will be the end of the queen that we know.. :( |
We Are The Champions 08.02.2005 12:11 |
I met and spoke to Roger outside the Coal Exchange in Cardiff on his 1999 Electric Fire tour. I was honoured. Forgot to get his autograph! How stupid is that! Me: It's great to meet you Roger. I'm looking forward to seeing the show tonight. Roger: Great, I hope you enjoy it! My mate got his autograph on the back of his cheque!! If only I'd had some paper!! Would love to meet Brian...just missed him arrive at Colsten Hall, Bristol on Another World Tour 1998. If only I'd been 5 minutes earlier. His tour bus was outside. Damn!! |
Queen T 08.02.2005 12:32 |
V of Reason: Hey, that's better than nothing, huh?! It's a thrill I imagine to even be that up close and personal with someone of that magnitude. |
Dubroc 08.02.2005 12:36 |
