Check out Brian's site. It has this graphic (and it's clearly a picture of Freddie) and it just says "Watch This Space". Could we really be in for some new release involving Freddie? My heart flutters :) |
Daburcor? 29.01.2005 21:35 |
I've been racking my brain trying to figure it out! |
Zander05 29.01.2005 22:26 |
Great, now I'm all on my toes about it! I hope it's something truly awesome (don't we all?)! |
djaef 29.01.2005 22:43 |
Could it be part of the artwork for the Queen Anthology? You know, Queen: The Official Ancient History :) |
Lester Burnham 29.01.2005 23:15 |
Or, more specifically, "Queen: The Ancient History, Which Is What The Box Set Has Now Become Since We Announced It Years Ago". Either way, I'm looking forward to it. Damn you Brian for being such a tease! |
Deacons 1st Choice 29.01.2005 23:35 |
Sorry...but it looks to me like some new art designed to advertise the "blockbuster musical" WWRY. Take a closer look ....Fred is holding the Red Special as he is in the WWRY logo. No doubt something whipped up to draw attention to the fact that WWRY has played well past it's 1000th show. Nothing like a bit of good publicity. Box Set art is AGES away....sorry! |
Lester Burnham 30.01.2005 00:16 |
Are you sure that's not a microphone? That's what I see... |
Hankster 30.01.2005 10:18 |
sorry .. can't see shit :P The light thing seems like Brian and that darker thing at the bottom seems like an arm with a mic .. bit it doesn't make any sense :P |
Rien 30.01.2005 11:00 |
I've added a bit more light to the picture and combined it with the existing WWRY logo (from Heinekens Queen's Day Poster) and you can see the result here: click on the WWRY image next to the 46664 image on top of the screen) link Perhaps something about the WWRY musical DVD? |
flash00. 30.01.2005 11:12 |
yea ive just seenit and down loaded it for a closer look,, hmm i cant really tell if its either but! i think it looks like some new kind of promo i.e. a cover poster or something witch will be released possibly?????? but imo i cant see queen changing all the art work of the musical for some wwry musical promotion witch has become so identifiable with fans and non fans, BUT!!! lol they could be just a new line of wwry t-shirts haaaaaaaaaaaaa |
Penetration_Guru 30.01.2005 16:40 |

I only see Freddie Mercury.. I can't wait to see what that special announsment is!! |
Adam Unger (QueenVault.com) 31.01.2005 10:26 |
That's exactly what I was thinking Guru... unfortunately, we're probably right. |
Jjeroen 31.01.2005 11:41 |
Well, first thing that came to my mind as well, was the anthology-box sets. Dunno, WWRY dvd is an option as well... Though I'd expect a more recognisable sleeve for that one. Either way I expect a shitload of Queen-material or -related material this year and in 2006. What better timing to do the anthology-boxes now that the whole world is back heavily 'into' Queen because of the tour... AND a 2005-tour dvd, and a 2005-tour album, AND GVH III (for sure) AND Hammersmith 1979-dvd (or any other old show from the vaults, for sure) with the cd-version, AND the new studio album with PR, AND new remasters for Europe in cardboard mini's, AND ... |
YourValentine 31.01.2005 11:48 |
... more DVD Audios? I am afraid it's about the musical, the Freddie pose is in the logo of the musical. |
Jjeroen 31.01.2005 11:51 |
Ah, that's right Barb! I forgot to mention the ADATR and Queen II DVD-A's... pfff... a WWRY-thingy... the horror, the horror! ;-))) |

I think Freddie is replacing Paul for the forthcomming tour... |
mystic_rhythms 01.02.2005 12:36 |
Dicky Heart wrote: I think Freddie is replacing Paul for the forthcomming tour...lmfao!!! What i think it is, well, it could be a double release. Not only may the WWRY musical be released on DVD featuring performances in Cologne, Las Vegas, and the 1000th performance, we could also be looking at the long-awaited Queen anthology, which I believe was talked about ever since 1997. It's a wild guess, but why not? |
GreatKingSam 01.02.2005 14:50 |
just because it was originally the same picture used for WWRY musical, doesnt necessarily mean it is about WWRY. for example, if you see a Queen product with the same text style used for that of the Queen logo for WWRY, doesnt mean that that is about WWRY does it? i think they've just used the same template, and just havent done the best job in disguising it completely, but then again its not being used for anything outrgaeously public or official.... fingers crossed its something good. personally, i think its about a new album. like Brian (or Roger?) have said, they want to get new material out before the tour |
Rick 01.02.2005 15:01 |
Allright, here's what I think: Top-left corner: 2 faces, Brian and John from The Works era. (very hard to see, but with Photoshop you can...) Middle: Freddie, very clear Top-right corner: The faces from Queen II-cover (Also done with Photoshop) Bottom-right corner: A bear (Yes, a bear!) Conclusions: John is coming along with the tour (special announcement!), or Tim Staffel (on bass offcourse). Why? Tim did sing along with the song 'Polar Bear' during the Smile-era... |

I now can see the Queen II faces and ehm... that bear too yes. |
Scirocco1977 01.02.2005 17:28 |
Maybe it is about Brian having cut his hair... |

It could be the cover, but also a promo-shot. Oh yeah, and in the bottom-left corner you can see Roger behind his drum-kit, also done with Photoshop. I know it's difficult to see, but try to use your imagination and Photoshop, then you will be able to see it.Rien wrote: I now can see the Queen II faces and ehm... that bear too yes.The bear, ok, but that could be a digital glitch, the Queen II faces are so blurry, I doubt they are really there, and I can't see Brian and John from The Works era at all. |

And I can see something with photoshop, Brian's face is clear, John (if it's john) isn't. I only see four legs where you see the bear. Maybe it has something to do with the North American tour. The four faces in the top right corner could mean 3 things: it has something to do with Queen II, BoRhap or One Vision. Some virtual duet during BoRhap maybe? |

Oh, you guys are gonna be so pissed off when truth finally is coming through... Well advised to lower your expectations... And don't give me those good ideas. |

So, a download it'll be... Any ideas? that NOBY thing? |

Hoo boy. That picture of the girl just sapped my interest. here I was thinking it just MIGHT not be WWRY related. I can officially sigh and say 'oh well'. |
kohuept 10.02.2005 12:26 |
Anybody know which cast she is from? I would assume the London cast, but I'm not sure. |
Bohardy 10.02.2005 12:34 |
I think we can safely say that The Guru wins the prize for being the first person by a long way to correctly guess what this was gonna be. I wished I'd said at the time how hilarious all this talk of Works-era Bri and John, the Queen II pose and a bloody bear was... |
