How do you think each gig will start? I expect a start with one vision or tie your mother down or is there any free/bad company songs that could fit? Also i think a 2 hr set list will happen as i can see a lot of change arounds such as a mid gig acoustic set then guitar solo etc. What do you think? P.S. Any update on the support? |
englishyob 24.01.2005 18:26 |
one vision was the magic tour, they will start with somthing different, in fact i dont think they will play one vision |
seanyboy 24.01.2005 19:04 |
ok then. what in your opinion would be a good start then? |
deleted user 24.01.2005 19:07 |
Innuendo. |
englishyob 24.01.2005 19:08 |
I think It's a beautiful day (Tape Intro) Into Tie your mother down would be a good way to start |
Sir Archie 'Tiffany' Leach 24.01.2005 19:16 |
I think there should be a ruddy big cheer when Brian and Roger appear but dead silence when that singer bloke appears. It should be as still as the day Sir Archie walked into a miner's bar with his 'I love Maggie' t-shirt. I swear the darts stopped in mid flight. |

hell yea i am keen now after hearing paul singing we will rock you and we are the champions and i have always liked bad company and free as theres a big number of hits. |
RohemianBapsody 28.01.2005 03:27 |
I think the place will errupt and that all the band members will arrive on stage together. IMO TYMD will be one of the first songs as it gets the crowd up and going right from the start. |
Hankster 28.01.2005 04:45 |
why would One Vision only be a part of the magic tour? .. TYMD is played millions of time, so why not doing One Vision a second time? Personally I hope it will be O.V., because it's Queen best openings track |
jasen101 28.01.2005 05:03 |
They're going to start the show with a strange video montage of Freddie/Queen interviews mixed in with a tribal beat in the background. Then BAMMM smoke...lights....the lights go on and they start the show with .....Jailhouse Rock! What do you think...? Hey, it could happen! |
Borhap80 28.01.2005 05:20 |
They have to open with a Queen song IMO... I think they should open with a rocker.... Personally I think Tie Your Mother Down and One Vision works well.... Fast version of WWRY maybe, but not very likely I guess... The One Vision intro is maybe a bit dated concerning the synth sound... (maybe they will create a new one?) still I think One Vision is the best opener..... I get goosepumps every time when I hear it... it is so pumping and energic and it results in explosion of screaming guitars, heavy drums and raging vocals... ;) |
Rien 28.01.2005 07:57 |
Not without a little bit doubt about Paul's voice, it could be: Princes of the Universe: "Here we are, born to be kings...etc...here we belong..." Could be a smasher. The Show Must Go On... Building the excitement when the lights go on... but perhaps a song more suitable further on in the tracklist. Innuendo... is the superb opener of the WWRY musical because it builds up the tension in a great way. Tear it Up. Long musical intro before the singing starts. Very rocking to start a concert I think. "Are you ready, hey are you ready..." Let me Entertain you. Perhaps a bit TOO obvious. And as mentioned... Tie Your Mother Down. One of Brian's favorites. (and mine!) But (if it weren't openers before) to have something "new" I think Tear it Up and Princes Of The Universe would be great! |
RohemianBapsody 28.01.2005 08:15 |
or Death on Two Legs .... followed by TYMD |
KingRat 28.01.2005 09:36 |
How about starting off with "I Want It All". A great song that was never played live on a Queen tour and probably would have been the opener if there was a "Miracle" tour. |
Mr. Scully 28.01.2005 10:07 |
I agree about Princes Of The Universe or an extended intro of Show Must Go On, these are great ideas. |
Silk Worms XIII 28.01.2005 10:28 |
Innuendo-really good entrance song. |
RohemianBapsody 28.01.2005 15:10 |
Hope they turn the lights out. |
jasen101 28.01.2005 18:27 |
Princes of the Universe? Cmon...no way. Not One Vision either...I think they definately wont play those types of songs...they'll probably stick more with good old fashioned rock like TYMD, Hammer to Fall, Stone Cold Crazy,... |
maxpower 30.01.2005 08:26 |
considering they didnt even consider princes, gimmie the prize, or dont lose your head in 1986 with freddie i cant see it now (all of them would have been fantasic live back then) to do them know would be a bit of a pisstake as why they werent done who knows, maybe bri wanted em & freddie didnt (vocal damgage etc) |

I want it all would be a great opener! We may just hear the standard fast WWRY and then TYMD, then a Bad Company song. Taped Innuendo moments before they go on stage might happen. If one really wants to dream- Doing Alright then WWRY, etc. Of course that is a dream. |

Innuendo. Not the whole song, it's too long and not fast enough to open a show... but I think they should get Fred out of the way at the start by playing taped stuff to Innuendo, and then BAM on with the live stuff. |

Any one who would start such a chant needs to flash forward to 2005- Freddie is dead. If they are expecting freddie then they should not have punked out 50 quid for a ticket. It also would be extremely rude and disrespectful to PR let alone Brian and Roger- who obviously have great respect for PR and feel that he can do their music with dignity, add new life into it, etc. that they are even doing this tour. I can't wait for these concerts and if anyone freddie chants around me- ..well you might get your foot stompted on or something. :-) I want to enjoy the show not listen to your pointless chants. |
Voice of Reason 2018 07.02.2005 08:07 |
It reminds me of a line from The Simpsons - 'Why would they come to our concert to boo us?' |
RohemianBapsody 07.02.2005 08:19 |
I can't imagine that everybody is going to chant "Freddie". I just the-ink there will be a trmodous general roar and clapping when they appear on stage. If they start with a rock song then everybody will be too busy head-banging to think about chanting Freddie. |
Mr. Scully 07.02.2005 08:58 |
DP's Highway Star as intro song was VERY boring - the band just came to the stage, took their instruments and started playing. Absolutely NO surprise. Queen have always had great intros. I want some thunderbolts and lightnings, very very frightening me! :) Smoke and darkness, then some Freddie tape intro + Brian's live (and LOUD!) guitar riffs and the show can begin. |
The Real Wizard 07.02.2005 12:16 |
Whatever they pick, I'm sure it will be great. Every intro Queen used to a show throughout their career was incredibly effective (with the possible exception of Jailhouse Rock, in my opinion). Nonetheless, I'm sure they will not disappoint this time around, either. I must say, I like the It's A Beautiful Day intro idea. |
Two Sharp Pencils 07.02.2005 21:50 |
Unfortunately I think that Made In Heaven will be ignored... :( They will probably start with a brand new intro + TYMD (i.e. FM Tribute) or maybe another heavy classic such as a Now I´m Here... just my 2 cents. |
Fenderek 08.02.2005 08:02 |
Was It All Worth It- intro's really nice and than THE riff |

Boy Thomas Raker 08.02.2005 15:17 |
I think since it's a rocker that suits Paul, and is a great statement song, they should open with Now I'm Here. |
Hank H. 08.02.2005 16:12 |
Why do so many of you believe they are going to start with a Freddie tape intro?? To my mind it's out of the question. It would be pretty stupid to do that. They won't fall back on him. This is not a Freddie memorial tour, they want to be regarded as something new. |
August R. 08.02.2005 16:47 |
If they use taped intro, Breakthru would be a perfect choise. A new life is born, indeed. But then again, they'll probably begin with a true rocker. TYMD! |
seanyboy 08.02.2005 19:30 |
i was also thinking i want it all may fit in well if they use the us/extended version where there is a guitar solo from the begining? |
MercuryArts 12.02.2005 11:39 |
Trying to figure out the opener is quite hard. Some of the obvious choices have been named already. I hope O.V. is not in the set. or anything from Magic other than WWTLF. Maybe opening w/ a Bad Co. song would be good. When I was drumming w/ my band back in the early '90's we used to open w/ Can't Get Enough. It always went down a storm! Actually a good old rocker would be cool as well. Less pressure on everyone. Especially Brian & Roger. It will never happen but My Generation would be thunderous. Also, I remember going to the Page & Plant shows in '95. While tailgating in the parking lot the topic all around was what will the opener be? People guess RnR, Good Times Bad Times, thinking back I can't even remember what else was guessed. But when they hit the stage and opened w/ The Wanton Song, jaws hit the floor all over the arena. No one & I mean no one saw that coming. It was never played live by Zep. It was awesome!! So my point is, if they strive to be a little original and not rehash openers from 19 or more year ago it could be quite amazing. I hope we are all wrong & the flat out floor us w/ something no one ever thought of them doing. |
goinback 12.02.2005 17:44 |
They might want to throw Headlong in there too...that's one another one they never got to play live.... Actually I think it would be cool if they'd start with a short slow version of The Show Must Go On (maybe on tape, and with some thunder) since everyone thought there would never be another Queen show (yes I know some people don't think it's Queen), THEN abruptly cut it off and start Tie Your Mother Down at full blast! |
Boy Thomas Raker 13.02.2005 19:09 |
That would be great, Mercury Arts, if they did the Page and Plant thing and open with something obscure. However, this will probably be a safe greatest hits tour, one or two surprises per set. |
MercuryArts 14.02.2005 16:30 |

One can only hope. I'd love to see songs like White Queen, Dead on Time, It's Late and Ogre Battle in the set. Queen were at their best as a rcok band. If they played next to nothing from the Game on, I think it'd be a spectacular show. |
kohuept 14.02.2005 18:22 |
I think IWiA would be a great opener. The taped chorus followed by the live cymbol crash and guitar into. Maybe distort and extend the chorus to prolong the excitement. I also think WiAWI would be a great opener, also with taped intro. This is not a negative thing about Paul's stuff, but I don't think any of it is "rockin" enough to start a show. It should show up maybe third. |

I wud really like to see i want it all as the opening song with out any taped intro or anything, just them in the dark and they all shout/sing the opening lines then lights go up with the cymbals and guitar |
