Just wondering who might support queen+paul rodgers on their tour if there's anyone lined up that is, my choice would be the darkness. Who would you like as support? (just take make the fifty pounds really worth it) |
RohemianBapsody 24.01.2005 08:20 |
Darkness would also bemy choice .... although Robbie might do it !! |
Brian_Mays_Wig 24.01.2005 09:40 |
Robbie is bigger than Queen at the moment. |
QueenSite 24.01.2005 09:55 |
no support act, and please, especially no Darkness |
Voice of Reason 2018 24.01.2005 10:42 |
No-one plumping for T E Conway? |
English Bowman 24.01.2005 11:51 |
T.E. Conway is a great choice :o) Hadn't thought of that. Saw him support Brian, should have bought his album, but didn't and have been kicking myself ever since! How about him fronting The Immortals. More seriously please not The Darkness, one of the worst live acts I have had to endure. Def Leppard would be good, or Soul Sirkus even better. Maybe Thunder but I doubt any of these will happen. I still think that it will be The Wire Daisys. Dan |
Fenderek 24.01.2005 12:03 |
Def Leppard would be awesome! That WOULD work- they're really hot live! |
Benn 24.01.2005 12:05 |
Would you be happy to have an hour wasted on a support act after having paid such an exorbitant price for the main band? The headliner should certainly be playing from 19.30 to 22.30 at that price........ |
Jjeroen 24.01.2005 12:06 |
Def Leppard... come on guys, you can not be serious... If there's one rockband that sucks, it's Def Leppard! Twenty years ago, okay. But now... as FZ would say: you can't do that on stage anymore. (I'm sorry if I insulted anybody ;-) |
Fenderek 24.01.2005 12:25 |
jeroen wrote: (I'm sorry if I insulted anybody ;-)No -I'm sure you didn't... :) I saw them a year ago- it really wasn't THAT bad, trust me :) |
Oberon 24.01.2005 12:35 |
I saw the leps last year (or the year before?) and the darkness were the support, although it was before they broke here in uk, so I didn't take much notice!!! I love the leps, and i think they're still good. but there's an even better band - Thunder! But I agree that for the price of ticket, no support and a three hour show from the main boys would be justified. just can't see them lasting that long on one night!!! |
Pim Derks 24.01.2005 12:36 |
WIRED DAISIES probably. They've got Treanna Morris who has worked with Roger/Brian, they've got the son of Jim Beach and Jim Beach is their manager too. |
QueenSite 24.01.2005 12:41 |
Yeah, if a support is needed, WIRED DAISIES are far better than Darkness |
jeff payne 1680 24.01.2005 14:15 |
How about Paul Rodgers singing his songs, then B+R doing solo stuff then for the last hour all of them on stage doing the queen bits |
RohemianBapsody 28.01.2005 03:29 |
Too long to wait for the Queen stuff. They should mix it. Support act .... Spice Girls :) |

I would expect Darkness as they sound much as Queen used to. I would love to see Muse too, but in real life that would not function I believe. I wouldn't be surprised to see even Status Quo perhaps, but they are perhaps too big to be support act. I guess Darkness remains as most probable option. Hm, thinking about young ones, Zuttons come to my mind too, but I'm afraid that would be more what I would want and not the band itself :) |
The Mir@cle 11.02.2005 02:43 |
Do you really think bands like The Darkness, Muse and Status Quo wants to be a support act for this Queen? I don’t think we can’t expect a huge name. |
YourValentine 11.02.2005 05:28 |
Hopefully, there won't be a support, it only means more waiting. |
iGSM 11.02.2005 05:56 |
How about they support themselves. Announcer: Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome the support act..Queen and Paul Rodgers! |
hcrvelin 11.02.2005 15:15 |

Queen& 14.02.2005 16:22 |

Cool Cat, my tickets don't mention a support act (Frankfurt and München) |
Daveboy35 14.02.2005 16:39 |
Neither do mine and i'm going to cardiff whose got support act on thier tickets anyone shed some light? |
DragonOnMyBack 15.02.2005 04:34 |
From looking at the ticket scans on the link webpage it looks like the only tickets that mention a support act are the ones for Manchester and Newcastle. It might just be part of the standard ticket format they use. |
Cool Cat 15.02.2005 15:46 |
I've got tickets for Ahoy Rotterdam and on my tickets it does say that there will be a support act. It's written on the side of the ticket by the way and it doesn't say who it will be... |
kohuept 15.02.2005 16:19 |
Scissor Sisters |
deleted user 21.02.2005 01:55 |
ohhh Scissor Sisters are really excellent! I doubt we could dream of them opening tho. Why would a band on its way up tour with a semi-reunited Queen that peaked years ago? Ah well, hope whoever supports is good. |
We Are The Champions 21.02.2005 12:29 |
As on many tours by headlining bands there may be a number of support acts on this tour - different countries different support band. I know that on the Brian Tour 1998 there were two different supports for gigs in Bristol and Newcastle. Really depends on whether any support band is committed to the entire tour or plays a few gigs here and there...support at one and not at another etc. Maybe the fact that "+ support" has not been included on tickets may mean that there will not be any support. I think the idea that there will only be one support act on this tour maybe unfounded? Who knows but this is only my opinion. I'll probably get shot down in flames anyway so I'll take my bows and leave!! |
pirrakitas 21.02.2005 12:45 |
Muse are way too big to be a "support act". They played 2 nights last December in Earls Court, (not sure if they were sold out), so what about Q+PR supporting Muse next summer? ;-) |
jeff payne 1680 21.02.2005 14:45 |
Pehaps Johns new band??? |
Nuno 21.02.2005 16:12 |
most of the bands mentionde on here (Dakness, Scissor Sisters etc, etc) can fill the venue's on there own so why would want to support someone (irrelevant of who) at these venue's I'd expect someone rock band who would play somewhere like the Theatre round the U.K (Hammermsith and Manchester Appollo) |
We Are The Champions 21.02.2005 18:24 |
Katie Melua is on the 46664 Fancourt bill and as she's a Queen fan may have the chance to support on this tour. Only guessing of course. |
