At my grandmother's funeral we had No-one but you (which was kinda silly as she was 84, so didn't exactly die young), and These are the days of our lives. Both songs seemed really appropriate at the time though. I wouldn't want depressing ones at my own I don't think though, perhaps Death on two legs, or killer Queen. Ha, actually, Queen have a lot of songs with reference to death in the title don't they? |
foxxy_moron 10.01.2005 04:51 |
i actually have no idea what i want at my funeral... i plan to die in a freak accident that no one knew about :) |

As much as I like Queen, I wouldn't want any of their songs as farewell. Instead I would want Funeral For A Friend. But, after all, imho, memorial services are never actually for the dead person, they are for the others, so I would let them choose. Perhaps they pick Another One Bites The Dust or Dead On Time. Or Double Talkin' Jive. Or my girlfriend does a rendition of I Used To Love Him. Oh that'd be worth watching, but I can't :( |
foxxy_moron 10.01.2005 05:14 |
i actually agree with u about not wanting it as a goodbye song... |

I've thought about this before, and I must have BoRhap played. My family wouldn't do it most likely, but they should know that's the way I would want it to be, and that is how I want to be remembered by them, as a music lover. I don't want some dull boring church song because I don't even practice religion, but knowing my mother, that's how it will go. Southern baptists singing "Shall we gather by the river" |

i'd have said nevermore - and not just because it's my favourite queen song but because There's no living in my life anymore The seas have gone dry, And the rain's stopped falling Please don't you cry any more Can't you see, Listen to the breeze Whisper to me please Don't send me to the path of nevermore Even the valley's below. Where the rays of the sun, were so warm and tender Now haven't anything to grow, Can't you see? Why did you have to leave me? (nevermore) Why did you deceive me? (nevermore) You sent me to the path of nevermore When you say you didn't love me anymore Ah ah nevermore nevermore tell me THAT ONE doesn't end this topic firmly??? |

Although it changes a bit from time to time, this ought to be my setlist: 1. Going to California - Led Zepp 2. The Show Must Go On - Q.... 3. Perfect Day - Lou Reed Not because I want to hear them for the last time, but because of their content, just as my final words of goodbye. (When I feel depressed Going To California is replaced by Pink Floyd's Goodbye Cruel World ;-) |

I'm thinking The Show Must Go On or Love Of My Life. |

Well, I had All Dead All Dead at my dad's funeral, so I would probably have it at mine too. |
Monte: Liquorice Years 10.01.2005 23:24 |
well, its not a queen song, but my generation byt the who. i think the lyrics "hope i die, before i get old" applies to me. but id want a cheery song... because i know there will be lots of people happy im dead, or if they're my good friends, they'll make a joke of it (yes, joke...). And Pax, i want Drowse... that would be nice.... so take note!!! |

As a lifetime dedicated Queen fan, I would love a collection of Queen songs from all albums to be played at my funeral, closing with the song i've enjoyed most of them all, Bohemian rhapsody. (followed by an encore of WWRY, WATC and GSTQ, lol) |
deleted user 11.01.2005 08:19 |
Well, there is only one Queen song I would really play at my funeral... BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY (And i hope i die in 2077 - that would be my 100th birthday and the 100th birthday of "We Are The Champions") |

I'm too young for that.. I want to decide it when I'm old and I hope I chose a Queen song. But if I were dying now I would like to have: -Who wants to live forever -perfect day - lou reed -maby yesterday - the beatles? -no-one but you and If I had suffered alot in the last years (which I don't) I would like to have Mother Love |

Who Wants To Live Forever Save Me No-One But You (Only The Good Die Young) Made In Heaven You're My Best Friend Too Much Love Will Kill You (Brian's version) Just One Life Back To The Light Guide Me Home/How Can I Go On |
carboengine 11.01.2005 12:11 |
Made In Heaven - the solo version. If you are really serious about having Queen songs at your funeral, make a copy of the cover of the cd/dvd/single and put it with your will or with your executor directions and indicate which song(s) you want. |

Mine would have to be "Dear Friends" So dear friends your love is gone Only tears to dwell upon I dare not say as the wind must blow So a love is lost A love is won Go to sleep and dream again Soon your hopes will rise and then From all this gloom life can start a new And there'll be no crying soon |
