I found a pretty amazing site in Romania offering free mp3 downloads of songs. I have downloaded the 1980 Wembley Arena concert, the early Japan 1973 concert and a Vienna concert from 86 from here. The URL is link Happy Downloading! |
L-R-TIGER1994 30.12.2004 01:21 |
It's actually a russian page,I think somebody posted it before, but thank you anyway,i'm gonna bookmark it just in case. |

*Bookmarked* :) |
pcgenius9 30.12.2004 06:22 |
There are four live albums there but I began to download the New York one and the sound quality (in my opinion) was awful so I stopped. I have also downloaded the BBC sessions and they are interesting to listen to. :D |
Banshee 30.12.2004 08:36 |
Perhaps not full concerts, but they did do shows before 1975. As a support act for Mot Le Hoople for example. Very nice to hear too! |
pcgenius9 30.12.2004 08:37 |
Try downloading the Cleethorpes concert from there. The sound quality is very good for a crowd recording from the 70s. |
bitesthedust 30.12.2004 09:40 |
where is the Cleethorpes concert? It's not in the Queen section... |
Ogre 30.12.2004 12:51 |
The Cleethorpes concert is a fake.. |
pcgenius9 30.12.2004 13:11 |
They definately work. Try using the right-click menu and Save Target As... If that doesn't work, like it says, try again in a bit! |
pcgenius9 30.12.2004 16:09 |
You click on the song name which takes you to a sub-page with the actual download link on it. |
pcgenius9 30.12.2004 16:12 |
Well you know. Re-itterating points can't be a bad thing! |
pcgenius9 31.12.2004 09:46 |
Just to correct myself from earlier to avoid confusion as it was me getting mixed up. The concerts are: 1) Live in Vienna 2) Live in Shizuoka 3) Live at Wembley Arena 4) Live in NY (bad quality) |

Thanks PCgeneous9. I now have some downloading to do later. |
Bizon 31.12.2004 12:01 |
i dloaded those gigs a week ago or so but unfortunately the new york gig is incomplete... tracks 3 and 7 are missing and it seems like these were somebody to love and i'm in love with my car... can anyone who has the complete gig put it somewhere in the net? ps: the london arena gig mp3's have some irritating errors... but only during 3 songs i suppose (of course during "my car" also ... wrrrr :( ) pps: the studio albums are not always available to download..some of them don't have links do mp3's but links to russian internet music shop instead where you can dload them paying some money for every song... but we all do have their original studio albums do we? ]:-P |
pcgenius9 31.12.2004 12:06 |
Thanks for that information. I noticed some errors in the Wembley Arena gig and not the Vienna gig. Try downloading it again and see if that fixes the problems??? I haven't tried downloading the studio albums as I have these already bu that is useful information nevertheless. |
Bizon 31.12.2004 12:17 |
sorry... i meant the wembley arena.. you're right... |
pcgenius9 31.12.2004 12:19 |
Oh so maybe it has got errors in it, which is annoying. But, its still a great concert and is listenable. You have to remember that this is the 80's we're talking about and for a crowd recording its not bad. |
Bizon 31.12.2004 12:27 |
yeah i love this gig... great setlist and sound is actually quite good... but it's just pissing me off when it skips during my favourite part of the show... but well... it's better than not having this gig at all... |
pcgenius9 31.12.2004 12:29 |
Bootlegs are great! We were talking the other day though, that there is nothing quite like having a real CD! I wish the guys would get releasing more DVD's and CD's soon! |
pcgenius9 31.12.2004 13:07 |
I recommend that you download the Vienna one first as it is absolubtly amazing. It sounds like a professional recording it is that good! |
pcgenius9 31.12.2004 13:12 |
Do you know any other good bootleg download sites that would be useful to us? |
deleted user 31.12.2004 13:26 |
easytree.org they don't have too many Queen bootlegs usually, but they have TONS of other bands. |
pcgenius9 31.12.2004 14:09 |
I will have to have a look at those thanks. As it is, I am quite happy with the bootlegs I have at the moment. Receiving a new mp3 player has hightened my need for more music and there is a lot of Queen stuff out there that not everybody has heard. |

the stuff i have before 75 is: <72-10-03 - De Lane Lea (demos) London> <dir> <73-20-11 - oxford new theatre (inc soundcheck)> <dir> 20/10/2004 18:37:40 <73-26-11 - Manchester, (Opera House - Supporting Mott The Hoople)> <73-27-11 - Birmingham, (Town Hall - Supporting Mott The Hoople)> <73-29-11 - Colston Hall - Bristol (supporting Mott)> <dir> <74 - New Orleans> <74-04-05 - Waterbury, Connecticut> <dir> <74-06-11 - Bradford> <74-08-11 - Glasgow> <74-12-06 - Cologne> <74-19-03 - Cleethorpes, Winter Gardens> <74-20-03 - Manchester University> <74-20-11 - rainbow, london> <74-26-04 - Boston> <74-28-04 - Rock Portland Exposition Hall> |

it's a shame that the New York 1977 concert from Grammy.ru is incomplete, as I'm still looking for a NOTW show from the 1977 American leg.... |
bitesthedust 01.01.2005 15:23 |
sound is a bit iffy...certainly not as clear as Wembley, Shizuoka or Vienna... |
pcgenius9 01.01.2005 17:47 |
In my opinion the Vienna one is superb! |

bitesthedust 02.01.2005 05:35 |
Amsterdam can found here: link |
pcgenius9 02.01.2005 13:52 |
Thanks. I will have to try that one sometime. |
pcgenius9 02.01.2005 15:00 |
Persumably it is just a Roger and Brian concert then? |
Bizon 02.01.2005 15:14 |
yup it was some kind of dutch queen jubilee or something... only for die-hards who want to have everything... nothing special... |
pcgenius9 02.01.2005 15:15 |
Ah well I don't have the time to download it then. Plus I want to save my net connection |
bitesthedust 02.01.2005 16:15 |
I've followed the site for a while and although it's under construction at the moment I doubt any more Queen material will be added. The BBC session tracks are worth having - and some Hollywood records remixes are there too. Linda - if you're looking to add to your boot collection I may be able to help, if you'd like to email me. |
pcgenius9 02.01.2005 16:34 |
Yeah it's a shame really. I'm wondering how they manage to get round copyright issues (unless they aren't as strict in those countries). |
pcgenius9 03.01.2005 14:45 |
I wish bootlegs were uploaded to the net so that you could download the ones you wanted easily |
bitesthedust 03.01.2005 15:53 |
bitesthedust wrote: Linda - if you're looking to add to your boot collection I may be able to help, if you'd like to email me. Cool! I don't have much to trade though... no problem - by the way, some bootlegs can be found on link , as previously mentioned, and also on the official site (although you have to pay for those). |
Banshee 03.01.2005 17:00 |
Bizon wrote: yup it was some kind of dutch queen jubilee or something... only for die-hards who want to have everything... nothing special...Actually I think it's damn special. A free, unannounced concert for about 100.000 people in Amsterdam on the day our Queen was celebrating Queens day, with some of the WWRY cast singing. Very good audio as well. |
pcgenius9 03.01.2005 17:36 |
I know what you mean. Where they are altogether in one place |
pcgenius9 03.01.2005 17:59 |
It might be worth somebody setting up some web space so that people can uplad their bootlegs for download |
pcgenius9 04.01.2005 06:26 |
Call me cheap if you like but I'm not up for paying for web space. |
pcgenius9 04.01.2005 10:16 |
If you could set that up and it works then it will be great! |
pcgenius9 04.01.2005 11:12 |
How do you join then? Just post all the details and I will take a look :p |

Isn't a FTP or web server an idea to share bootlegs? I don't believe it's very difficult. I'll check it out. |
bitesthedust 09.01.2005 14:43 |
Linda Of The Valley wrote: The most you can get is 25 MB. That aint much good.I'd be willing to share some of my boots, if nedded.... |

I just found something that might make Bootleg trading a lot easier! link is a free service whitch can used to send large emails (up to 1 GB!). It seems the service is completely free so you don't even have to sign up. A few friends of mine alrady used it and said it worked great. The person you email the file to will get an email containing a link to the file stored on the YouSendIt server. The link will work for 7 days after that it will be removed. |

sounds good-o, anyone needing any specific shows? |

bitesthedust 24.01.2005 13:21 |
I think the best solution to all this is for someone to start a bootleg tree either via post or e-mail, whereby one person starts it off by sending their files/discs to another, who then makes a copy and sends them onto someone else, etc.... |
pcgenius9 24.01.2005 13:23 |
sounds compicated to me |

So, who's going to moderate all the stuff being uploaded.? Although it's good to share, I feel the door would be open to untold garbage... |
Jay Mantis 25.01.2005 03:58 |
I still think an FTP server is easier. The problem is, the server should be running all day and night to give people from each county a chance (timezones). Let alone the fact that it would litterly abuse the owner's internet connection. So actually it's not that great. |
Jay Mantis 25.01.2005 13:04 |
Indeed. Very true. |

HeM wrote: A Bootleg Tree can be expensive for some people, depending of the country where they live. When I was gonna trade a bootleg with a dutch guy once I figured out that in the 1st trade I'd spend over a half of my money, while for him it would be only 3 euros. And there was a risk of the government taking the CDs sent by the dutch guy and asking taxes for it! So I'd lose all my money in the first trade...Over 100 people from North and South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia have participated in the three bootleg trees we have done on Queenzone, and you are the first person to complain about the cost. |
bitesthedust 25.01.2005 14:32 |
I participated in the last one, and sent discs to Holland, too..... to get the ball rolling on this mp3 sharing idea, I've just sent Linda the 12 minute version of Stealin'.... |
Maz 25.01.2005 15:10 |
Again, the first person to complain about the cost of receiving this type of stuff. Perhaps if you were collecting this material like many of us did 10 years ago (hunting through records shops, importing CDs for one song, trading for one concert, etc) you'd appreciate how cheap a bootleg tree really is. |
pcgenius9 25.01.2005 15:40 |

I don't have that gig unfortunately....I've tried to download the solo myself and have had the same problem as well! |

here is a good free server its 50 megs for free and everyone can use (yes even linux and mac users) i already have a concert that i can put which is Queen Last Night Live In Tokyo (A Night At The Opera Tour) its only 9 files but some of the files like Liar and The Prophets Song are 10 minutes long, so its about an hour and there is only one fade out I can hear and I've listened to it a lot. I'm going to give you guys a link to my public server, but you have to sign up if you want to download something link Another thing, whoever can encode FLAC to mp3, do it because the more concerts we have the more people are going to try and join us, therefore making an easier network, but when encoding FLAC to mp3, encode it first to WAV and use mp3pro to encode it to mp3, mp3pro is a new format that keeps all of the great aspects of mp3 (even the file extension .mp3) and reduces the size of the file in half, thats why my concert is so small. |
pcgenius9 31.01.2005 14:41 |
try dbPowerAMP to convert music. I have got it to convert to and from mupltiple formats including mp3, mp4, flac, wav, wma etc |
nibznik 01.02.2005 13:47 |
you have to click on the link, then it should ask you to become a member, after that youll get a free 50 mb xdrive account and it should be added to one of your folders |
