Its like.. if brian and roger would tour a whole year or so.. John would feel theres going on something he's badly missing.. and even with his formerly stated principles.. he can't avoid of the pressure of being part of the tour.. as bass player of course!!! I think the pressure is so high.. he must get together.. he just cant watch it alongside their doing.. and Paul Rogers is a wonderful singer.. Don't tell he cant replace freddie.. since I know freddie would have wanted someone like Paul Rogers (one of his famoust singers apart himself) to continue his legacy.. so its not like replacing him.. its just to make him to live again (freddie) to make his impact to live on.. Let us allow Paul to make his best.. to interpretate all the famous songs.. if U dont like his versions.. U can always go back to freddie's versions.. but give that man a chance.. and queen a chance as a whole..
I'm all for giving Paul Rodgers a chance, because I believe Brian when he says they could never replace Freddie. And I'd much rather see them on tour with Paul then another Queen + Five or Queen + Britney Spears collaboration. As for John coming back, I somehow doubt it's going to happen. It'd be amazing if he did decide to participate, but the likelihood of him coming out of retirement is slim. I wonder what his opinion on the tour is, though.
John must do what he wants to do.... if that's sitting in his chair watching movies with his kids, we have to accept that. But if he would now how much the fans miss him, maybe he comes out his shelter for one more time.

Yeah he should do what he WANTS to do, he doesn't owe us or anyone anything!
I actually (like to) believe that he reads Queen sites and message boards every now and then. He may not want to take part actively in Queen stuff but he can't erase that part of his life, which actually was the most significant...
And I guess he's become quiet curious, too when he heard about new tour plans...

Maby he's one of the queenzone users, or queenonline users ;) Posts here every day and we talk to him but no one know who he is ;)
ok reality now: I think he does. I'd be curious if I knew about a side where everything I have done is discussed :) And if he reads that, we all have to say that we miss him and it would be great if he would tell us his oppinion about this tour. He can do whatever he wants to do... If he don't want to go touring then he wont have to.. but it would be nice if he wanted to tour :)
You've got more chance of Freddie Mercury performing in this tour than John Deacon. I don't know how anyone even entertains the idea that he would play.
Maybe he is no longer able to play all those songs as he hasn't played live for years... Many people think Roger's ability to play drums is no longer good, and he did play occasionally.
i think we all make john out to be something he's not. some people think he is the all wise and knowing one who is trying to protect freddie's memory and not continue with queen without him, others think he is old and bitter for some reason or selfish for retiring. i say we just let him be, he is obviously happy not being involved with queen and if he wanted to tour then i'm sure he would.

And maybe is trying to make a decision right now, with the phone in his hand and Bri's number on a paper in his other hand :)
GO JOHN, SEE YOU IN 2005! :D
I think there is a chance of him turning up as a "surprise" guest at whatever the London venue will be that the tour plays. When the dates ARE eventually announced i will be very interested to see what the London venue will be.
I can see that...maybe....it would be very cool, but actualy i think John is completly happy where he is now enjoying the family life.
John doesn't have to do anything he doesn't want to. Who are we to say that he will feel left out and what not when the tour commences? Are any of you John's personal confidants? No, I didn't think so. No one here knows what goes through Mr. Deacons mind, especially his thoughts about the tour, so no one can say that he will be missing out. Whatever happens; happens. so be it!
Cheers

I do agree. Even if some of his SIX kids are adults, he can still watch them and his younger ones, if not his grandchildren. I also agree with Melancholy Blues. Let him be.
