I spent a few hours yesterday trying to get my head round all this. I had two attempts at downloading the flac frontend, neither of which appeared to work. Then eventually found a converter that would work, so looked for a torrent client. Bittornado didn't seem to work at all, so when for bittorrent instead, then eventually found that I needed the new forum to access the seeds, downloaded Birmiingham 84....and now have a bunch of .shn files and an .md5 file for each disc.
Now what? I was expecting to have flac files by now.
And I still think that the filesize is ridiculously cumbersome for such low-fi recordings, but there's no point whinging about it, even if Jazz final currently stands at 139 hours to go...
Ok, ok, so shn is an alternative to flac. So another random bit of software to decompress that back to wav.
Brilliant. Meanwhile I'm uploading Osaka faster than I'm downloading it. Still, Jazz final is down to 87 hours, so thanks to whoever has that still open.

Since you like all genres, try that for more torrents. Due to server issues, they are capping enrollment at 100,000 users, meaning only 3000 more members can register. I'd expect those 3000 spots to be gone by the end of the week.
Most audio torrents don't last much longer than a week, though QZ's last a bit longer. Easytree is a much larger and easier spot to get bootlegs, but you have to be quick about it most of the time.
You can still come back to the hub, Mylord. There are a lot of flac concerts. Also, please remember that only a minority of old board users can see this thread at all. Threads which are started on this board are not visible on the new QZ board.
you can download Shorten for Windows here: link
It's a self explaining decompressor.
For more information on flac look up the QZ Questions and Answers BitTorrent section.
