Ok, I know the name and that he's a political commentator of some sort. Since I prefer to think for myself, and since I do not have cable television, I never bother with political talking heads. I have absolutely no idea what his political ideology is, nor did a cursory glance at google help much.
The reason I ask is that I saw him on a PBS show this afternoon. Smart guy that he is, he proceeded to tell America that not voting is "okay." Staying home, he says, is fine.
How can someone expect any politcal authority (and a TV gig) by telling people that neutering themselves is a honorable option?
Your choices are Bush or Kerry.
It's like saying; would you rather have a poke in the eye or a kick in the bollocks?
Don't vote, it only encourages 'em.
Talking Heads? Well, they're a great band. Can't really recommend any particu...what's that? Oh. Tucker Carlson.
As far as I know, he's a right-wing commentator on Crossfire, a political debate show on CNN. I know this only because I found a clip of The Daily Show's Jon Stewart appearing on the show and completely blasting him and Carlson's counterpart (but mostly Carlson) for being a complete asshole regarding politics and how they're perceived in the media.
Carlson shot back that Stewart does nothing to help that image. Stewart then reminded Carlson that he's the host of a fake news show whose primary audience is led in from a show that has puppets making prank phone calls, and that The Daily Show shouldn't be taken as a serious news show.
Was a beautiful moment, it was.
