LOL. I don't think that particular bit of info was ever made public. I'd guess he was the postman. Personally, I prefer FedEx. |

This was a detail that Jim Hutton didn't need to share with us. But he did. And the answer is letterbox |
Robin 17.09.2004 18:20 |
Sorry, I'm totally confused. Anyone want to clarify? |

to put it another way, was he the 'Felcher' or the 'Felchee'. I guess it was both ways. FM was fellatioed upon then was asked politely to bend over and spread the legs. according to the book, the sex was acrobatic, nothing too raunchy. FM was the passive type, according to Mr. Hutton. And mind you, he liked his men big and burly. Therefore, he was the receiver. |
SergeantPepperDG 17.09.2004 20:59 |
I believe THIS by far is the most disturbing topic I've seen here. |

chancelloramethyst 18.09.2004 02:31 |
Then again, Jim Hutton is a big liar, so it's really only his word we're trusting here. Now, I'm someone who'd know. He was the letterbox, quite often yes, but depended who with. Roger, well, then Freddie's more the postman type. John was an any way the wind blows kind of guy, so it was whomever was feeling more energetic. Brian was a definite post master. And, if you cared, or didn't know, Elton John is THE post master. -Amethyst |
muttley15 18.09.2004 02:31 |
apparently it is 'better to give than to receive!!!' |
chancelloramethyst 18.09.2004 04:28 |
Oh, god, this is on the hot topics list! LOL It's a great discussion, really. A friend of mine's uncle slept with Elton John and that was my first question. Though, I have to be honest, it took me a moment to figure out the topic! LOL That's hilarious. -Amethyst |

omg what a stupid topic to talk about, i am sure if freddie were here today he wouldnt be very happy that people wanted to know if he was the giver or reciever, does it matter. how will knowing this information help anyone. i think i might start a topic on what colour crap did he have.!! I'm pretty sure that ex-rockstargirlfriends who share their "details" don't get such angry responces.Well, I would be, anyway, for all that it's worth. I mean, privacy is privacy and we really don't need to be hearing about anyone's sex life whether it's straight or gay. Jim Hutton needs to keep his mouth shut, especially when Freddie isn't around to "defend" himself if he would choose to do so. |
Scirocco1977 18.09.2004 10:13 |
I think there are far more slightly mad topics here about pubic hair shaving etc. But I guess, since in the gay world it is one of the first questions, Freddie might have been used to such questions. And I guess that is why Hutton wrote it in his book (if he did; I never read it) Still, no one should feel hurt when reading these posts. That's exactly what the posters want you to. All in all, that is one freaking good way to start heated discussions. See, we are no longer discussing sex positions but Jim Hutton's disclosure of details in his book. Der Zweck heiligt die Mittel, as German people would say. |

First off that really isnt anyone's bussiness and Secondly you should have a little more respect! Jim Hutton should have had a little more respect as well. |

Normal? I've seen male guinea pigs go at it and I know that many other animals (for example rams) have homosexual tendencies, you'd be surprised how common it is. |

This topic rocks! Never stop it! And, regarding the whole "if they were man/woman" thing, it's still bad on Jim's part, to a degree, because he was in a commiting relationship. And, generally, there's no huge debate in a straight relationship as to who is the letter box and just who is cramming those letters in.... Unless we're talking Roger, of course. Definite post box. -Amethyst |

For a bunch of people who are supposed to be fans of Queen, and particularly Freddie, this is one sick topic. Who cares whether he was the "Postman" or the "Letterbox"? If he had been neither, he might still be here today, making the music we all love. |
Brimon 19.09.2004 19:15 |
I dont think Freddie would have been too bothered about a bit of gay banter, I mean he did use it himself quite a bit. One of the crudest comments which Freddie said ,was in the NME when they were in Budapest. They were all in a restaurant when a woman joined their table and sat next to Freddie. He greeted her with " and how big is your c**t dear, can you get it over your head" to which she made some rather rude gesticulations concerning his teeth. Then there was Roger cracking jokes about the Space Shuttle Disaster. So I guess Im trying to say that they arent Saints, and should'nt be treated as such. I realise we all draw the line somewhere but I dont think this topic is too bad, just a bit of naughty humour. Now how much s***k did he swallow, is perhaps going that step too far imo. |
the oppositionist 19.09.2004 19:38 |
she was annoying them and basically gettin in the way, so freddie asked her to shut up by using the phrase above. to be honest, i hate that story- because it proves freddie wasnt v polite. i dont think there is ever an instance when that word should be used in front of a lady |
Zander05 19.09.2004 21:55 |
Being gay is just as normal as being straight. And Freddie, though long since deceased, is still entitled to a private life. Jim Hutton has no right to display their sex acts, no matter how curious anyone is about it. |
BrianRules 20.09.2004 10:09 |
Freddie wanted to play football in the US, but they were looking for a tight end, and he was a wide receiver! |

This topic is awful, but too funny not to respond to. In "Mercury And Me", Jim does clue us in as to whether Freddie was the letterbox or the postman - he was both. He refers to this as Freddie being sometimes "passive" and "active". Same as saying "submissive" and "dominate" or "sometimes a bottom, sometimes a top." Versatile, is what Jim was saying - he just wasn't using blatant terms. |
mrjordy 24.09.2004 00:39 |
Dominant, rather. I'm about half-lit and can't spell. |

egret wrote: I'll never hear "Please Mr. Postman" the same way again now. --EgretLMAO!! Too funny...and too true!! Let's face it people, if Freddie hadn't been gay, do you really think he would have been as great of an entertainer. I mean, his homosexual flamboyancy was part of his charm and appeal. I just can't imagine a "straight" man singing "Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy" as well as he did. As far as being revealing, I don't think anyone should know about the handcuffs and leather swings and the beads up.....wait....that was last night! oops =P |

Freddie is just unique. But then again, his stage persona - which was great - was very much influenced by his homosexuality, I guess, and he was indeed charming! |

I'd think he'd be the postman ... because the postmen really deliver ... (lame joke). And the whole explicit mess ----- really didn't need to know that. Some people just can't duct-tape their mouths shut for anything. |
