Hey guys, a revamped Fanclub site has been posted. Smaller than the last and still needs the merchandise section (It is really close), but it is a fresh start to try to get rid of some of the old problems. Some sections have been removed but not necissarily for good, just for the time being . . .
check it out link
ps -- Be nice Scully =)
Well, it's in PHP so it's probably a bit easier to updat for them now... but design-wise I still think it's nothing special. It looks good, but nothing impressive.
I don't understand why the website needs to be smaller. Gone are all interactive features including the chat room!!
All users of the fan club chat room are of course invited to visit the Queenzone chat room.
Sukiukie2000 - LOL :-)
It's definitely an improvement. From graphical point of view it looks very nice.
BUT - I'm on a 1.5 Mbit connection and the page loaded 30 seconds. Which is very strange because the page has about 130 kB (certainly over average but still reasonable). Any idea why?
I'll say that the site is good when the quality of the content reaches the quality of the design :-)
I quite liked the old design (as in the graphics), but thought that they wasted a lot of space on the left. The new site seems clean and easy to use, which is important, but I wonder why they felt the need to change it (again!). Seems it changes every other year or so!

The secret is: never get satisfied of what you've done... Constructive discontent is at the basis of every successful innovation...

Because the previous site was total shit (except for the nice images). The new one is a big improvement (design-wise; content-wise it has zero value).
"Seems it changes every other year or so!"
A site that doesn't change "every other year" is DEAD. The technology is moving forward, you know?

PHP isn't that new is it? A well constructed site doesn't need to change IMO, and not one that is essentially static and information based (as opposed to highly interactive/reactive I mean).
I didn't think the last one was total shite and I don't see the new one being a vast improvement on it either

What's the point of a (supposedly) great looking site if there's no content? and the design doesn't look that good either. It's ok, but nothing special.
If you want a fun site check out the Velvet Revolver site. That is a well designed fun site with decent enough content. link

Yes but this wasn't a well constructed site :-)

Of course it's not "special" but it looks good I think. And of course there's no point in such a website. I certainly won't visit it again, I just said that it looks much better than the previous version and the content is zero as usually :)
The Velvet Revolver site is really cool :-)

I preferred the "look" of the old one. I liked the subtle quotes etc. Don't see the new version as an improvement at all
I will give you a few reasons why the site has been changed.
1. The old site was up to about 180 pages. The server space that is donated was starting to get filled.
2. The site was not very functional. Now it is much easier to update using PHP.
3. I was bored with the look, but didnt want to go so "designy" that it would get outdated quickly.
So, there it is in a nutshell. Right now the content is lean. I had to temporarily eliminate some features for the time being so I could get it up. Not saying they won't go back, (ex Crystals tales, wallpapers, hopefully the chat and some other stuff. Not sure if we are going to be doing a discography again as it is done much better on other sites. Especially since Queenonline is planning on doing a massive history section with lyrics and samples.
The main focuis of this site is really just for Jacky to get here news out to fan club members. Not much more really, not yet at least.
Thnaks for all of the input . . . I think.
