queen_forever_87 09.08.2004 12:51 |
Hey everybody, I was wondering... what do you think is the best Queen-song ever?? My favourite is definitely Boh Rhap, but I'd like to know how many people think the same about that.... |
CHERRY 09.08.2004 13:01 |
It has to be either Ogre Battle, doin' alright, Spread your wings or Black queen. I can't decide. As for the Bo Rhap, I think radio and video stations over the years have personally BEAT THE LIVING CRAP OUT OF IT!! mike |
Gunpowder Gelatine 09.08.2004 13:06 |
Radio tends to do that. I've heard Bohemian Rhapsody, WWRY/WATC and Another One Bites The Dust enough to last me for a lifetime. Anyway, I'm not sure what the best song is. My favorite song is always changing, but at the moment, I think it's White Queen. Or The Show Must Go On. Get back to me later and it'll probably be different. |
queen_forever_87 09.08.2004 13:14 |
The show must go on is definitely a good one too... I also like these are the days of our lifes.... If you know the story behind it... it's very touching... |
Imogen_srl 09.08.2004 15:02 |
Like most fans my favourite song changes regularly depending on my mood, at the moment my favourites are "Spread Your Wings", "The Fairyfeller's Masterstroke" and "Seaside Rendezvous". I agree that "Bohemian Rhapsody" has been overplayed and now I find it hard to really enjoy listening to it. |
Pim Derks 09.08.2004 15:12 |
March of the Black Queen, Prophet's Song and My Fairy King. Of the singles/hits - Somebody to Love & Bohemian Rhapsody. Innuendo & TSMGO are excellent too. |
Pim Derks 09.08.2004 15:14 |
"Calling All Girls Action This Day My Baby Does Me" You've got to be f*ckin' kidding me. No-one can seriously think these are amongst Queen's best works. |
lottie88 09.08.2004 16:08 |
Hmmm.... This is kind of tough to do actually. So many of them are great, but the best one is definitely debatable. In my opinion, Bohemian Rhapsody is the best, and maybe Somebody To Love. Of course, those two are my favorite, so that could be why I think they are best. Even though Bohemian Rhapsody has been overplayed like no other, you can't deny it is genius and one of kind. |
LiarLiar 09.08.2004 21:48 |
Usually mines are, thoug vary a lot: The March of the Black Queen The Millionaire Waltz In The Lap Of The Gods...Revisited |
KillerQueen840 09.08.2004 22:20 |
March of the Black Queen Prophet's Song My Fairy King The Hitman Headlong One Vision Hammer to Fall Brighton Rock Don't Stop me Now Too many that are amoungst my favorites.... don't think I have enough time to write them all.... or basically almost every song...lol. |
Rick 10.08.2004 05:09 |
Hmm, this is difficult. Let's see, hmm, Cool Cat and Dancer are the best!:P |
inu-liger 10.08.2004 05:13 |
In my opinion, there is no "best Queen songs ever". Why? There are some songs that are more well known for various reasons, and are overrated, e.g. BohRap, WWRY/WATC There are lesser known - slash - more underrated tunes that could equally be as good, e.g. Delilah, Was It All Worth It I can't even pick a specific Queen song, because they all sound good to me (except for the Wyclef Jean AOBTD remixes, and Louisa May demo WWTLF) |
Sonia Doris 10.08.2004 05:21 |
Welll... Bo Rhap is the most famous excellent song from Queen. The March of The Blach Queen My Fairy King The White Queen to name just a few |

well im sorry to have to say it dr, but im pig sick of bo rhap. its over played, but no, not overrated. I personally like: Spread your wings Liar Tie Your mother down |
queen_forever_87 10.08.2004 06:27 |
I'ts so funny to read that there are so many different songs chosen while Boh Rhap is the number one in greatest hits of all time, that's why I was wondering how you thought about that. But allright... all Queen-songs are very good... |
Lapetsu 10.08.2004 06:31 |
Same here, I love BoRhap but i'm tired of it.. My favourites are One Vision (live) Hammer To Fall (live) I Want To Break Free (live) Spread Your Winds We Will Rock You (live) A Kind Of Magic (live) Sheer Heart Attck etc. As you can see, I love live versions ;) |
INXS 10.08.2004 12:58 |
Well I admit Bohemian Rhapsody is a great song but I think they've had better songs, it's hard to make up my mind, I would have to give it to "Innuendo"! |
queen_forever_87 10.08.2004 15:00 |
How come Boh Rhap is chosen number 1 in greatest hits of all time when everyone here thinks so different about the best Queen song? Is this just because Boh Rhap is so wellknown that it is the only song that non-Queenfans know and that is why we choose it? Or does anyone else have any idea how this is possible?? |
agneepath! 11994 10.08.2004 16:39 |
Personal favourites at the moment include March of the black queen, Liar and Prophets Song. But these are subject to change depending on mood. |
Saint Jiub 10.08.2004 17:39 |
Hmmm ... lets see if I can give Pim Dirks a stroke ... Black Queen is my favorite, but Leroy, Good Co, Who Needs You, Suicide, Action, Invisible, and Rain are "lesser songs" in my top 20. I also think that Fairy King, Innuendo, The Show and Mother Love are overrated. |
Saint Jiub 10.08.2004 17:40 |
A few years ago, Eggy and I conducted a detailed poll of 30 Queenzoners rating 188 released Queen songs (excluding 46664 songs as they did not exist at the time). See the link below in my signature for: song rankings composite album ratings songwriter rankings vote distributions for each song etc ... |
don't_stop_me_now 9697 10.08.2004 17:43 |
Right now, I think it is Death On Two Legs, Don't Stop Me Now and Spread Your Wings. I also always like their first single, Keep yourself Alive |
goinback 11.08.2004 02:41 |
"Procession"...we've covered this already. :) |
Rune 11.08.2004 11:30 |
I think Bohemian Rhapsody is a masterpiece ! About two years ago I was so tired of that song, but now I just think it's perfect. You can listen to it over and over again and still find new thing in it. In my opinion thats what makes a good song and thats what makes Bohemian Rhapsody the best Queen song. |
radio_what's_new 11.08.2004 12:46 |
Bohemian Rhapsody is the most known and the biggest hit of Queen. But I think it's not their best song. I think love of my life is the most beautiful queen song ever. Any live version of that song is so wonderfull I never skipped love of my life and I skipped Boh rhap very often while listening to a bootleg. |
Kuku 11.08.2004 13:15 |
Bo Rhap is overrated by media and underrated by the fans IMO. |
muttley15 11.08.2004 13:54 |
They change alot, but usually include.... Nevermore Funny how love is who needs you One Vision....album version Human Body Love of my life.... Live Killers version If you want to start a new subject my favourite solo track is probably Manipulator 12" version closely followed by Beautiful Dreamer. |
Jimmy Dean 11.08.2004 18:54 |
Well, besides BohRhap, from a citical standpoint, queen's greatest song, which is arguably their swan song, has to be THE SHOW MUST GO ON. That song fully embodied the Queen legacy in 4mins24secs. Clever chord changes, beautiful sounding, poignant lyrics & quite possibly Freddie's finest vocal outtake... that final "show" that he forced out of his fragile body was defintely the greatest way for him to "officially" (if Innuendo is counted as their last official studio album) go out on top. |
substitute 11.08.2004 20:34 |
My favourites are One Vision and Hammer to Fall. |
Brimon 11.08.2004 20:49 |
Somebody To Love, a classic record and always sounds great live. |
Ramon 12.08.2004 04:06 |
Innuendo Rules!!! |
KJ 12.08.2004 06:58 |
Don't try so hard The show must go on In the lap of the Gods...revisited (LAWS version) |
lupone2 12.08.2004 09:55 |
Bohemian for '70s, who wants... for '80s, the show must... for '90s. Queen always the best Ferrari in the world!! |
queen_forever_87 12.08.2004 15:33 |
Allright, it's clear everyone likes something else, but tell me....why is Boh Rhap chosen number 1 in all times greatest hits if we, being Queen fans... cannot agree about the best Queen song...?? How on earth is this possible?? |
goinback 13.08.2004 03:35 |
Dumb question: What's the LAWS version of In The Lap Of The Gods Revisited?? |
Gunpowder Gelatine 13.08.2004 12:31 |
Live At Wembley Stadium, I believe. Great version, too. |

queen_forever_87 wrote: You folks are not responding to the question, I was asking: why is Boh Rhap chosen number 1 in all times greatest hits if we, being Queen fans... cannot agree about the best Queen song...?? How on earth is this possible??I think it's because Queen fans have heard Bohemian Rhapsody so many times, that we think some of their other material is better, but everybody else recognizes it as their huge hit. |
queen_forever_87 16.08.2004 05:54 |
That could be a good explanation yes... thnx for that... I thought it was rather strange... |

But I think if, say, The Millionaire Waltz had been the huge hit instead of Bo Rhap, then we'd all say that Bo Rhap was their best song.... |

White queen March of the black queen Bohemian Rhapsody You take my breath away My melancholy blues Innuendo Show must go on |
Roy ® 16.08.2004 10:11 |
Spread Your Wings (70´s), Another onde Bites The Dust (80's) and Innuendo (90's). O btw, Thomas, Pim Fortun wasn´t a facist. |
Kuku 16.08.2004 21:41 |
goinback wrote: But I think if, say, The Millionaire Waltz had been the huge hit instead of Bo Rhap, then we'd all say that Bo Rhap was their best song....I absolutely agree with you. We tend to disregard something that we hear every so often about. Once it turns "commercial", the relative value goes down. |
queen_forever_87 18.08.2004 08:18 |
hey everybody... we where discussing the best Queen-song ever...not Pim Fortuyn, by the way I agree with drs. Daja.... Pim Fortuyn wasn't a fascist... but we're not here to talk about politics...we're here to talk about Queen... So...tell me more about the best Queen-songs ever..... |

Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy! Well, maybe the not BEST, but it is one of my favorites. |
Lord Blackadder 18.08.2004 10:51 |
The Show Must Go On Somebody To Love - Totally unique and an absolute classic Made In Heaven Bohemian Rhapsody |
Lord Blackadder 18.08.2004 10:54 |
"Allright, it's clear everyone likes something else, but tell me....why is Boh Rhap chosen number 1 in all times greatest hits if we, being Queen fans... cannot agree about the best Queen song...??" Becuase it's voted best single ever, not best song ever. These people dont listen to albums, just singles. They listen to pop albums were all songs are the same and so have no concept of truly great albums. |
queen_forever_87 19.08.2004 14:40 |
Lots of different tastes...but some of those keep coming back....:D |

this certainly the toughest question ever |
SergeantPepperDG 21.08.2004 13:10 |
I really love the Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke and Nevermore. Also, although it may sound cliche, Bohemian Rhapsody is just a classic. I think it was named number 1 single for a reason. BoRhap was the song that got me into Queen in the first place, even though I didn't like it the first time I heard it... |
queen_forever_87 22.08.2004 07:14 |
I wonder what would happen if we had a poll about this..... difficult picking songs for it I guess... |
Brimon 22.08.2004 07:36 |
JOHNJOHNJOHNJOHN JOHN. :) |
Sonja 22.08.2004 08:50 |
I don't know... there are so many Bo Rap is definitely a masterpiece. Also 'Innuendo', I think Freddie's singing in 'You And I' was really good. And 'Somebody to Love' is brilliant. I think the whole Queen II album is a masterpiece, really great. And the Innuendo album, too. It doesn't mean that their best songs are also my favourites though. One of my all time favourite is Hammer To Fall, I love it from the frist chord to the last and I don't get tired of it whereas Bo Rap bores me to death to be honest. |
queen_forever_87 22.08.2004 09:23 |

Death On Two Legs March of the Black Queen Ogre Battle Lily of the Valley Hammer to Fall Bohemian Rhapsody I'm in Love with My Car My Fairy King Under Pressure Brighton Rock Bicycle Race(best video at any rate) Fat Bottomed Girls Ack, I exceeded ten. TATDOOL i think, i just love this song :D |
7Innuendo7 25.08.2004 17:13 |
I'm really biased in favor of Innuendo, but it might be Flick of the Wrist -- wicked guitar solos, chorus vocals, pounding drums, phat bass line -- love the segue into Lily of the Valley |
queen_forever_87 26.08.2004 13:24 |
I think Innuendo is great yes, the whole album is very good!! But one of the best songs of this album is The Show Must Go On... if you think of what's behind it... this is really brave... just like These Are The Days Of Our Lives... |
Albyboy 26.08.2004 13:29 |
Hard to say... I'll list some of my favourite ones (in no particular order): Flick of the wrist Death On Two Legs March of the Black Queen Good old-fashioned lover boy Ogre Battle You & I Bohemian Rhapsody My Fairy King Teo Toriatte It's late Don't stop me now Let me know what you think Ciao Albyboy |

There is no BEST song, there are good songs, better songs and (maby) songs that are more better(?). But a Best song, no, there are too much differences between the songs too choose out the Best. If I should make a list, it would probably fill the whole page, not gonna do that, well... let's say...... Bohrap (hahaha) |
Flo Joe 29.08.2004 03:26 |
So you agree to my list albyboy? |
Albyboy 29.08.2004 07:17 |
I'd change "Ride the wild wind" and put "Good old-fashioned lover boy", "Don't stop me now" in stead of "Silver Salmon" and "It's late" in stead of "Was it all..."... Anyway, apart from those little differences due to individual taste, I totally agree with you :) Albyboy |
Flo Joe 29.08.2004 10:30 |
I was just wondering, as you mentioned ...lover boy in some other place. |
queen_forever_87 01.09.2004 13:40 |
