Not one of my favoutite songs along with Machines it sounds dated and stuck in the 80's. The video's crap as well. And to answer your question the song is aobut the British press and their appetite for scandal involving famous people.
Scandal rocks!!! wadya on about lol!!
that song is deep, every non english speaking peeps I seen dance to it, every non Queen fan just rock to it and every devoted Queen fan I know just say **god Just how true are those lyrics.. and what a genius to put it into a song!**
I couldnt agree more hey that song is reality poet to the maximum.
now you haters of this song is gonna say you dont like the prophetic vibe of Inuendo lol!
I mean what a genius! using the most heaviest rock movement infused with operatic dramatic old classical stringy feel and go on about if theres a point if theres a reason to live or die, if theres a god come show your self to relieve our fears. poor Fred, surrended to faith with the most artistically written and played poetic rock song in history!
Of course underated against any beatles abba and beegee records ((parrasite pops!!! grr))

Scandal rules! One of my favourites in Miracle and definately one of my favourite Queen song.I really can't find a good reason why some people(incl.Roger)love to hate it.Is it about the melody(awesome),the lyrics(very good),the orchestration(perfect),the production(very clean)?I cannot understand why someone would not like this song...
The album version is decent, but the 12" mix kicks ass, and I especially like my own edit of the 12" mix, with the heavier feel but not too long.
Here's a new version at 192kbps: **no longer available**
It's not uncommon for edited versions of remixes to become singles. "I Want To Break Free" is a good example. Perhaps something along the lines of my edit should have been released and the song would have charted a little better.
man that rocks!! but you know what I love to hear is an instrumental version! that will be the coolest maybe with just an acoustic guitar! then maybe people will universally can understand why Queen is the best!
cos I have done my research and Queen has been underestimated by free thinkers of the way their tunes are played. . . I mean look at you all with the hot space album lol!! that album is cool!! Queen versatlity rocks!
But it seem peeps are losing one side of two structures, just cos the rythm is different then the lyrics are bad lol!
I demand an acoustic version of all Queen songs then Freddie can Kick Dylans ass and all them folk guitaring playas out there yay!!
I love this song too!! :D on the commentary from the dvd Bri and Rog say that the press were very unkind 2 them, and the song was a stab back at them so 2 speak :)
I'd welcome instrumental versions of all Queen material. I enjoy them a great deal. When your mind isn't focused on the lead vocal, you often hear some interesting new stuff you didn't notice before.
It's a shame that the 'karaoke' set (released only in Japan) was limited to only tracks from Hits/Flix 1 & 2, and not even all of those. I had the laserdisc set years ago which had the original videos with lyrics on screen, and two audio tracks.. one original, and one instrumental. They left out a few songs for some reason (such as Innuendo and Headlong).
I was really hoping they'd take advantage of the capabilities of DVD and make the karaoke tracks available as alternate audio tracks, with the lyrics handled by removeable subtitles. Seems absolutely perfect for DVD, but they missed the opportunity.
Thankfully the instrumental mixes are available on CD ("Greatest Karaoke Hits") though it's a little pricey and is limited to versions matching the videos exactly so they're not all full-length original instrumentals. ("Under Pressure" for example ends abruptly after only one finger-snap at the end)
Some acoustic mixes would also be very cool indeed. I haven't heard that idea put forward before. Might be an interesting project for Brian & Roger.

Jeffrey, get Queen The eYe then. If you play it on the CD player (wisely skipping the first track on each CDR because it's a data track and could blow your speakers to kingdom come!) then your search will be over. There's a gorgeous, incomplete instrumental version of You Take My Breath Away that is so awesome in its simplicity!! Other songs are there too and it's fun to "sing along" with them. I play mine quite frequently!
Scandal rocks, an album of this stuff and Was it All Worth It and I Want it All doesn't need Party or Rain Must Fall. Scandal rocks!! My favorite scene in the video is Brian's solo with all the ticker tape falling around. I keep wondering, why does John turn his back to the camera and faces Roger when Freddie sings the word "God?"
