My sister is considering going abroad to England in May (yes, and without me *whimpers*) for a week and she requested that I ask on here what the weather is usually like in May?
Thank you in advance from the both of us.
I went to Europe for ten days a while ago. Anyway, I left on June 1st, I believe...And the weather sucked. London, however, is my favorite place in the world. =)
Love,
Mrs. G
Well London's always a bit warmer than anywhere else. I've never been to Cantabury. Bath is rlly nice. Weather is variable in May, probably be quite nice most of the time.
I agree with Catgoddess. I thought London was brill as was Bath. Weather wise, I would say always expect the worst then that way it wont disappoint you if it does rain.
Word of warning to your sis, If she goes to visit the famous Roman spa baths in Bath, tell her not to drink the water that they serve in the Tea Room restuarant (at least I think thats what its called) - its f*cking awful. I tried it years ago when me and an ex went
Thanks, everybody, for your replies and helpful information - I will be sure to pass it on to her.
Flashy - as generous an offer that is, and as tempted as I would be to encourage my sister to go stay with you, I am afraid I will have to decline the offer. Thanks all the same. ;^P
...when I was in england during may it was fabulously grey...
it worked out so well, it hadnt rained yet and then I decided to go out on a walk with my boyfriend and it started raining and we kissed....awww... *flittery pink hearts fill the room*
Tell her to come up North as well. Places like Scotland, North Wales and Lancashire are fabulous. Newcastle, York and the Lake District are also great places to visit.
In my experience May tends to start off grey and grimy and then get sunnier and nicer as the month progresses.
London, however, should be avoided at all costs unless absolutely necessary.
I am not sure if she will get to have much time to visit all of the places suggested (she's going with a group of other women that attend the same college), but I will certainly pass them on!
lol, and I think she is definitely going to London, Paul, so... ;^)
York is very nice, if you pass near Chesterfield then have a look at the famous spire, Worcester, Ironbridge, Torquay, all very beautiful places to visit!
