Through all phases of Queen's career, Freddie Mercury was a trendsetter in fashion -- and also a follower! In the beginning there were the glam outfits, the leotards and short-shorts, then the leather phase, then the white-jeans-and-muscle-shirt phase.
Which is your favourite Freddie stage outfit?
Mine is, and forever will be, the white satin Zandra Rhodes pleated top with the white satin trousers and black platform shoes. That's MY Freddie! :-)
Really, I'd love Freddie in anything, including the proverbial birthday suit (!!), and I loved every single stage outfit he wore, but the Freddie I fell in love with was wearing what I mentioned in the first email on this thread.
Freddie looked superb in the white jacket at Wembley, during Now I'm Here. I also liked the Game tour look, white jeans, Adidas, and Flash or Superman t-shirts. The only time I ever cringed was watching a video of the Jazz Tour in Japan, and during WWRY (slow) he was carried onto stage by a guy in a Superman outift, and Freddie was wearing a shimmering red sequined outfit. That was possibly the only one I disliked. But the early Zandra Rhodes outfits were breathtaking.
The only thing I don't like seeing Freddie in is those little skin-tight shorts. I'm totally secure with my sexuality, but seeing another man's genitals portruding through his shorts while trying to put on a rock concert is not not my cup of tea. :P

LOL I don't like that look either!
Beginning of the 80's he looked as everyone else in the 80's, IMO that style was the worst.
I'd say the Magic tour also! The shoes.....!!!!
But he looked pretty good in suits, too.
What about the red one with the black arrows? Nice one!
Don't forget the cape and crown -- that was the mother of all Freddie costumes -- real velvet and ermine and gorgeously designed -- I hope it's on display somewhere, sweat stains and all!! :-)
