I agree ?? secret fantasy. Its a pity they continue with glambert. But its brians and roger decision to record stuff with this x factor guy. The most import disappoint is that glambert hasnt a warm voice if you compare this with paul rodgers or george michael To my opinion glambert is yelling and screaming a lot in the songs in stead of singing beautifully. not really attractive as a lead singer of Queen. Is it all about the money or is it about keeping Queen songs alive. I really dont know. Maybe I compare him too much with Freddie Mercury. But, there was Queen all about ...., isnt it...... At this moment I am looking forward to the Miracle boxy including the one and only Freddie. |

The other thing to note, which escapes some, is that it's only a verse and two choruses. Yeah AL is over singing it a bit, but it's a home recording and done with good intentions and for a good reason. |

ooh. screaming and oversinging. Not good at all. I can feel none of of the emotion, warmth and empowerment from the original song in this version. Yeah it is only 1 verse and 2 choruses and it is for a good cause. Still, they could have just written a new song and released it instead of this screamfest. Yikes! |

So....I don't mind Adam Lambert, I have seen them in concert with him and it is fabulous. I'm ok with the concerts, because it is what Brian and Roger love, keeps them active, and is different enough from what Freddie did that I can enjoy it. And Lambert has an amazing, unmatched type of voice. BUT.....recording and releasing a Freddie song, one that is so special and well known, written by Freddie and really representing him, I kind of feel like this release is an abomination! I understand they think it's a great cause (I wouldn't give 2 cents to WHO but that is another conversation) but this is the wrong song to have used for it. Choose something written by Brian, or Roger or cover some other song and use that if they feel they need to create funds and thank workers....I could get on board a bit more then. But this just feels wrong. And Runner....I fear you have hit the nail on the head here....I was worried when they started releasing all those singles on YouTube from the Australian Fire concert, like they were warming up to start releasing Queen records with AL singing. And sure enough we get this....more on the slippery slope to Queen plus AL covering Freddie songs for release. No....just...no. |

His housekeeper?). His guitar lessons were pretty cool and the Hammer to Fall "quarantine Version" with Soto on vocals was bloody brillant. With this he destroyed what he rebuilt. What a mess. "Hammer to Fall" with all those guests was amazing. THis is crap and feels completely wrong. If they had released the HTF version I would have bought it in a heartbeat. As we have always said Brian loves to promote his pet Adam with on going tragedy going on in the world and more excuse to rip the Queen back catalogue to shreds. May is certainly have bad lapse's of taste but there again we expect no less as Queen fans have had 28 years worth. |

Neil Fairclough added the bass later. If you check back through Brian's Instagram, the original no bass version is there. (It seems to have been erased from youtube). To be fair, they have obviously done a little bit of production work on the final version. Honestly, I was surprised at how not shit it was. Most of these covid inspired recorded by phone jams are fun but not releasable. (A general comment, not just Brians output) Personally, I've never had a problem with them touring with Adam, but I do hope this isn't going to be a preface to an announcement along the lines of "Due to the success of 'You are the Champions' and overwhelming public Demand, Queen are pleased to announced a new greatest hits album featuring new recordings with Adam Lambert on vocals" Although that would be better than original recordings with replacement vocals. This was built on one of Brian May's regular guitar posts, where he plays a couple of minutes of something. Probably recorded on an iPhone. Like wise Roger has been doing short drum lessons, like Brian, from home. No proper mics or recording equipment. AL added vocals and they decided to use it to raise money. Great move and why not. It doesn't have to be perfect, it doesn't gave o be a big budget studio recording. It is what it is. |

I was listening to News Of The World yesterday, Freddie's vocals were still intact sounding as good as ever. Nothing's changed or ruined.
