And people in this forum claim that the current incarnation of Queen have lost their dignity and credibility.
In reality they might be on an all time high.
Not sure which chart you are talking about, but in the main one, Billboard 200, I see these albums at no. 2, 12 and 72 respectively. If you're talking about some rock charts, it doesn't really matter. What matters and goes down in band history is the main one.
k-m, there is also top 100 album chart, meaning just album sales which is different from the billboard 200. billboard 200 includes digital downloads and other stuff. just pure record sales queen did the numbers I just mentioned
Ok, I understand, but when Greg Brooks records it, he will still say the OST peaked at #2 (so far) because that's the most important chart which covers all sales, not just physical ones. Digital downloads and other stuff make up for plenty these days. I think there was an album over there recently which made it to the Billboard 200 #1 on digital sales alone.
The succes of the film and the new interest for Queen (specially in the US)is due to the extraordinary love that people all over the world has got to Freedie and the band.
Freddie Mercury is in the pantheon of the stars of popular culture, and Queen is one of the most succesfully and loved groups in history.
It doesn't matter where you are or how old you are, you know who is Queen and you love them.
