The new album by Muse and in my opinion a classic already.
Standout tracks to me are Algorithm, Propaganda, Blockades and The Void.
Oh, and make sure to check out the bonus tracks. Especially the Alternate Reality versions of Algorithm, The Dark Side and the acoustic version of The Void.
Matt has proved once again that he is a musical genius.
Oh and Pressure is addicitive as f*ck.

Great release. (Boxset is gorgeous)
Really loving the songs....but this might be their Hot Space, as the fanbase is divided af.
The Reddit page and even the Youtube comments are really positive. The haters are on their official pages. But I see your point of course.
To be honest, besides "Pressure", I haven't heard a single minute from the album yet. CD only arrived yesterday and I'm still listening my way through the pile of CD's I brought home last week from the record fair.
Fortunately, the pre-order allowed me to gain access to the early bird pre-sale for the upcoming tour. That access did not have a late arrival.
I'm quite curious to to the rest of the album. I expect it to be very different than "Drones".

Personally, it was much better than I first expected. When I first heard 'Dig Down' I expected the rest of the album to be very mediocre just like that song. Then the following singles just got better and better. In essence, this is not "Muse's Hot Space". Half of Hot Space was very mediocre. Simulation Theory has some production flaws, but overall it's a pretty good album. Is it good enough for us to expect them to be experimenting again with 80s sounds? Personally, I'd rather them do something very different on the next album, but I do appreciated the fact that they tried something they haven't done before.
A lot of fans give bands shit for not sticking to the same sound. The way I see it is that when bands stick to the same sound, the quality of their work tends to become less interesting little by little. Bon Jovi is a perfect example of a band that won't dare to change their sound on their albums, and even their fans can't remember the names of the albums they put out in the last 15 years. They are still around because they are one of those bands that can still put out a great live show by playing the old stuff.
Now, going back to Muse. I wish they had done something more of a combination of their Origin of Symmetry sound mixed with 80s sounds like they did on 'The Dark Side', which is one of the best Muse songs I've heard. 'Propaganda' gets a lot of hatred, for some very obvious reasons. I guess, they shouldn't call Timbaland anymore.
