Wow, that look great! Do you guys have tips for more great releases from other bands?
Uhhhh.......if QPL cared, they would have listened to suggestions from US for the past 25 years. Obviously, our suggestions have fallen on deaf ears.
So, please, do not post other band releases.
[The Beatles offerings came to mind......oops, sorry]
The problem is the price. Overall is a very good release. As many fans in others sites have stated, the 3rd CD covers everything from NOTW related, the eYe instrumentals, karaoke, It's late edition, b/sides etc.
The pure anologue cut is excellent
The alternative album takes also is perfect!
It is album expanded not deluxe release. The price is high. That's all!

Super deluxe Nevermind and especially In Utero were great: unreleased demos, unreleased complete shows in audio and video, Steve Albini mix of In Utero.
The only downside about Nevermind was the content was remastered much too loud. In Utero was really perfect.

What they actually look like:

Interesting. And SOO SIMILAR
- The large presentation up front
- the good part in the middle
- bland graphic
- lingering little bits towards the end
- a completely separate lot of crud from the first part.

For example Metallica.
Kill 'Em All : link
Ride the Lightning : link
Master of Puppets : link
I just listened to the Kill em All set. They basically put out a lot of subpar source material. So yes - on paper, it looks magnificent... but in reality aside from the one disc of Lars vault material and the 1 disc remaster - it's just a lot of bootleg quality material crammed in a box and priced as such. oh yes - no blu ray.
I have to listen to ride the lightning - but i'm thinking it's more of the same.
now - let's put this into context with Queen - how would we feel if they included the exact same Houston source material we already have (ie. shared on the hub or on queenzone)... yup, you guessed it... we'd be just as pissed.
so if we're going to compare - don't compare with the metallica sets

and don't compare with the Elton John set - which included a bunch of covers by other bands of Elton's Brick Road album + an easily obtainable BBC bootleg and old 1973 documentary in DVD (not Blu Ray)
a good example of a band going all out... Pink Floyd's Early Years box... NOW THAT IS WHAT WE WANT... but look at the price tag of that set... are we ready for it? QPL doesn't think so. And again... we should also consider the fact that the Floyd set also included easily obtainable bootleg recordings.

How can we forget this? This is an excellent release, even more, one of the easter eggs was a full album remixed.

The easter egg (Meddle & Obscured quads or 5.1 mixes) - was rumored to be an accident actually. Apparently you can only find it if you load the disc onto a pc blu ray and go through the contents of the disc. It probably was actually accidental. They may have been planning separate releases for those.
I feel blessed to be a fan of that band and lucky that Mr Fripp and the guys at DGM always wants to give the fans value for money. Looking forward to this.

Exactly. The KC-box costs 20€ more than the NOTW-box but you get 21 discs including remixes of the studio albums, loads of live material and Blu-Rays containing 5.1 mixes etc. I've got all the previous King Crimson box sets and they're really well done.
My point entirely! I dare say Jeff Wayne has a better handle on exactly what fans want. Some of the material on that was absolutely ridiculous considering the commercial sensibility of the WOTW brand.
