Roger's getting tired and Adam's larynx needs a break, but it seems that these songs are fading from the 2014 tour setlist. Also any chance of new songs appearing and flexible set lists are very remote. So much for being "live and dangerous". What we are hearing performed is being done well and that's a plus, but at the expense of being predictable too. |

I was thinking a few days ago about how could Adam could keep the whole tour using his voice like that... Its sad to remove Show Must Go On but it could be nice to have an acoustic song, She Makes Me could be an amazing song for the remaining dates...! |

whys Roger getting tired? in know he's 64 but in pretty good shape charlie watts for the rolling stones is still doing it and he was suffering from cancer a few years ago, as for the changing set lists not many bands change their sets through a tour, be it from one direction to the rolling stones their tours have not changed through out |

Brian said that TSMGO was dropped as there was a 10.30 curfew at the venue that night (can't remember which one off the top of my head) so they had to drop a song out of the set list to meet curfew but it will be back in. |

Hey that's good news as what I've heard so so far, it has been a show stopper. Thanks for the tip! |

He seems like a laid back/swing drum player even from the early years. These days he seems like he had a stroke or something... link |

Thanks for the tip!But why the remarks about Roger in your first post, when clearly he's getting better each show? Roger looks and sounds fresh to me, so i really don't know where you get the idea that Roger is getting so tired that they have to drop songs out of the set. |

Oops ^^^ Charlie Watts, despite his laid back appearance , is a hard hitting drummer. Like any band, seeing tThe Stones Live is a lot different to watching them on TV. Many of the old big band drummers were big hitters, with a similar style to Charlie Watts. Don't let the grand dad appearance and small kit deceive you! |
Stelios 23.07.2014 11:23 |
^^^ I have seen The Stones Live but actually i couldn't tell if Mr.Watts was a hard hitting drummer beeing too far from the stage and also only 13 at the time. However i really don't remember him (from video footage over time) doing the powerfull/fast drum-rolls that songs like Now I am Here requiire. |

Charlie Watts along with Johnny Rotten are the luckiest men in the history of music to make a living out of it... |

Stones and Queen are completely different bands. Charlie is great in what he does and what the Stones' type of music require him to do. Having seen the Stones on their current '14 on fire tour' I would say that they are a WAY better live act that "Queen" is these days. |

If I was to have a minor complaint is that Roger clearly gets in shape during the tour as opposed to before. It is evident as he hits way harder as the tours go on. It's been like this since the Paul Rodgers tours. |

Adam didn't hit all the high notes in Uncasville. That was my fourth show in a row and it was the first time this happened. Roger seems to be doing just fine. In the 2005/6 tours some people speculated that Roger could not play Now I'm Here anymore. Now he's doing just that and then some. How about treating us to some good 'ol I'm in Love with my Car tonight in Jersey, Rog? |
rubens 23.07.2014 23:06 |
And what about Joey Kramer? He's touring right now and have the same age as Roger...And Aerosmith songs requires a good amount of power. |
Wiley 23.07.2014 23:24 |
No TSMGO in Jersey either. Several technical issues or shortcomings: the curtain didn't work well, there was no 'Guitar cam' during FBG and no yellow confetti in the end... also, Adam avoids hitting a few high notes and fucks up the lyrics to We Will Rock You and, I think, Radio Ga Ga. God Save the Queen took embarrasingly long to start. A couple of akward looks by Brian and Roger while they waited to take their bow. Someone is getting fired tonight. :S |

Hullo Mr Queen Fan, The reason I put forth the notion that Roger might be tiring was that the tempo and double kick work in DSMN might be too much. I also thought about the way that Rufus takes over the kit on TYMD. This being said, NIH and Stone Cold... are moving along nicely. No malice intended, just trying to work out 'why' |

Listening to Stone cold crazy in Chicago and now it s completely a different song and Roger NOW plays very well. For me they dropping songs while AL can t sing like he has done in this month. Queen songs are demanding. Another thing...who compares the drumming of RMT with the drumming of ChARLIE WATTS really understand nothing about drums... Rog is 64 still plays very energetic, still fills on time plus he s got an enormous drum kit...,he doesn t lie down like he s sitting in a sofa... C=mon guys..Respect for Rog |

As the record and all previously played live versions it doesn't have any double work so I'm really intrigued to know what he is now doing on it (especially when he doesn't use any double kick on any of the other songs). Thanks |

Apparently they played I was born to love you in the soundcheck for the Jersey show. I just heard a sample of it on YouTube. Full band, rock version. Hopefully they will play it in Atlantic City. |

The doc absolutely nails the guitar parts. link But something tells me they're just running it at soundcheck for the Japanese dates, since it was a hit there and not here. |

Yup, that makes the most sense. I feel bad complaining about them not changing the setlist since (a) they've always been like that, and (b) the setlist is too fucking good. I would have never imagined seeing them play Now I'm Here, Stone Cold Crazy, Seven Seas of Rhye, Killer Queen and In the Lap of the -frickin'- Gods... not in the same tour, let alone within 30 minutes on the same show. Having said that... would it kill them to squeeze Keep Yourself Alive between Seven Seas of Rhye and Killer Queen? Maybe Brian could do something 'spontaneous' (as in, 'rehearsed to appear unrehearsed') and add some freebies into his acoustic set. Or they could bring back any of the songs that they played with Adam in 2012 (WWRY fast, Dragon Attack, Break Free, etc.) I'm not asking for anything they haven't done in the last couple of years. That alone would take it to a whole new level for me (beyond "Awesome", which is where they stand today). Hey, this is a sensible request. Isn't it? It's not like I'm a Facebook user posting "What?? No Breakthru or Slightly Mad?? THIS IS BULSHIT!!" |
