I have a few videos I'd like to sharpen up a little, and was wondering what the best free enhancing (not editing) software was, if anyone knows. If it's a good program, I'd buy the full version (incase anyone thinks I'm just out to freeload). I'm looking for something that's relatively easy to use and doesn't have watermarks, as all the ones I've found so far put watermarks on the final output. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.
If you want the best processing program it's Avisynth. And it is free plus it has tons of custom made plugins/scripts on the internet that can do almost anything with your video. Only problem is that you must know some basic scripting because that's what this program does - it doesn't have an interface, you just gotta write the script. It could be complicated at first but it's worth it because you won't find any other software as good as this (even the expensive ones).
The next best choice is VirtualDub (free program). It can do similiar job as Avisynth but it's not as advanced and doesn't have as many plugins. It already has a bunch of internal basic filters but you can find more on the internet. Unlike Avisynth it has a basic interface which is very easy to operate. If you're looking for just sharpening the footage, VirtualDub might be just what you're looking for. It can do more complicated things as well. It normally works with AVI files but you can download a plugin that would allow to import MPEG files as well.
Hope this helps. Good luck!
