Hey all, I'm new here. Be gentle :) I think I might be older than a lot of folks here. My very first concert was when I was about 14 y.o. and saw Queen with Billy Squire at the Boston Garden. I think it was just after A Night at the Opera was released. What was yours? Dan in NH US |

Do Queen+ gigs count? My first time seeing them was on the Queen + Paul Rodgers tour, in Vienna on April 13th, 2005. Brian played a part of the Blue Danube during his solo. It was a great show. They had been on the road for a couple of weeks, they seemed both nervous and excited. A great feeling. |

Please cry for me as whither away in senility with my life woefully unfulfilled ... I wanted to see Queen in Chicago in '78 , but I was the eldest child, and my parents were over-protective (worries about drugs, bad neighborhood and horrible snowstorms). I was away at college when they came to Chicago in '80, and I was unaware they were touring the US in 1982 in support of Hot Space. However, I did see Brian May in '97 (I think) and Queen + PR in 2007 (I think). |

Oops, too much red wine I'm afraid! Sorry about teh slip. Let's clarify a few things first; Queen, Night at the Opera Tour, Boston (Tick), Billy Squier, not till Hot Space Tour of 1982. Now back to memories, Sydney, April 1976 in the Horden Pavillion. My very first rock concert at 15. Overwhelmed by the lights, flash bombs, still clear memories of Brian crossing the stage from side to side during Brighton Rock, Roger's drum solo, Freddie's white piano and the total sense of disbelief mixed with fun when he appeared in his kimono, singing Big Spender to reveal those candy striped hot pants to sing jailhouse Rock- the whole place went ape shit! |

Nevermind. Not trying to put anyone down. It's just that there are just a "very few" know it alls that are always making fun of people that are either new or don't know much or just try to get some basic info. These serious collectors and queen gurus (haven't seen one replying this post mind you) are surprisingly quiet when it comes to say if they have ever been at a queen show.....that's all. As you can see I've been to some gigs and I have a couple of personal stories about the band but something you will never see from me is either arrogance or contempt or a diva attitude which can be very prevalent here...that's all. There is a saying that I like that goes: "tell me what you brag about and I'll tell you what you're lacking of..." I really like it when people post and answer in a team-like constructive way and unfortunately that is not the prime example of some of the people that should be helping the newbies no matter how stupid the question this might me (is BoRhap about AIDS?) right? my 2 cents that's all GL |

My first was in 1975 at Wolverhampton civic hall it was my first concert at the tender age of 15 and what an introduction that was! My friend and I were sitting up in the balcony looking straight down on Freddie's piano & champagne glass and he attempted to throw red roses up to us but they kept landing on the lighting rig - my friend stopped me from climbing up to grab one. There was a roadie fast asleep on the steps next to us and I didn't understand how he could be sleeping through such an amazing event! The tour was the same you can see for the Hammersmith Christmas concert and though I saw Queen every tour from then on I think that concert is the one that I cherish the memories of the most it was all so new and exciting and raw - miss ya Freddie! xxx |

I got real excited that they played If You Can't Beat Them. I don't remember if they actually played Fat Bottomed Girls but they definitely did It's Lake because I went nuts. I remember thinking it was really weird that Freddie made lots of eye contact and Brian always looked straight into the back of the arena. I also think John stood in the drum riser the whole show and never moved onto the stage. It was a long time ago, but I have always been glad I saw them. I hang with a lot of younger musicians and have a 4 Faces Queen 2 tee shirt i wear to local shows. I always get lots of compliments. |

That's difficult. Either Earl's Court (because I was in the front row thanks to the fan club) or the first night in Paris (because the Pizza Oven was just incredible and there was about 20-30 of us together - the Royal Family). On the Crazy Tour Liverpool was best because one night I was in the fromt row and the next in the 4th row. Also, it was a big meet up for the Royal Family (a lot of us from L'pool and N Wales). And met the band for long chats at the hotel. Happy days. |
