Fans in the United States can watch the new Queen documentary "Days Of Our Lives" on the Biography channel Monday June 27 at 8:00 PM with re-runs on the following three days.
For details see link
Does that channel have adverts?
The documentry will probably be edited down to fit in the timeslot, or badly broken up because it isn't made to be broadcast in "acts".
OK, is Biography even showing the same documentary, or is this 'description' just 100% wrong and referring to something older that aired years earlier?
On my Comcast system here in the USA, here is the description for the Queen: The Days of Our Lives documentary they're going to start airing next week:
"Axl Rose hosts retrospective on the rock group's 20-year career includes interviews with band members, and comments from Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger, Elton John and Phil Collins."
HUH???
That sounds like the "Is This The Real Life" documentary from 1991. Let's hope they got their notes wrong. I'm sure Brian knows which documentary the biography channel is getting.
My Comcast description says the same thing, malicedoom. Comcast gets the description wrong all the time. It will be the same Days of Our Lives documentary that was aired on the BBC in the UK a few weeks ago. Just read the description on the link.
Gotcha. Thanks.
Think they'll bleep out the profanity? And blur or cut the nude bicycle race? I'm guessing they will.
Thank God for the BBC download. :)
Some of it will be the same, some will change. Queen productions are notorious for doing this.
We'll have to wait till Monday to compare the differences.
I was annoyed to discover this will not run on the Canadian feed of this very same channel, at least not then. Just what is the problem? We're *attatched*, goddamit! :p
This aired last night as a single, 2 hr episode - they updated the title screen as well (no 'Part 1' or 'Part 2' under the title, etc.)
Also, profanity was bleeped and nudity was blurred.
I'll stick with my download/torrent from the BBC broadcast, thank you very much. :)
It was heavily edited. They removed around 45 minutes from the BBC version for commercial purposes. I hope Queen Productions releases a bluray of the documetnary. That'd be sweet. If not, I have the BBC version on my computer.
Wow - they cut THAT much?
Such bullshit. I didn't even bother watching past the first few min once I realized it was edited. Thanks to people on this board, I have the BBC version on DVD.
Blu-ray... that'd be incredible I'd buy that in a heartbeat.
I miss calculated. A one hour show is required to have 18 minutes of commercials on broadcast televison. Since this was a two hour, they cut a total of 36 minutes. I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote 45 minutes. LOL!
US fans are really getting the shaft with all this 40th anniversary stuff: edited, censored version of DOOL, 3 month wait for the remasters behind the rest of the world, no choice between single and 2CD versions of the remasters. What's an American Queen fan to do? Sheesh.
Well, I called the sat company after finding out that my 140 channel package did not include the BIO channel. They told me the only way I could keep the channels I liked, AND get the BIO channel was to pay $25 more a month!!
So I said fuck it. My wife and I just finished watching part 2 today on Youtube, UNEDITED!
Man, part 2 was sad as we both knew it would be. But, over all I really liked seeing all of the yet unseen, by me, footage.
