QueenZone discussion #1265396
Top songs from each album
| br5946 23.03.2011 15:45 |
Having a majority of the studio discography I decided on a favourite song from each album (these choices are heavily drawn from my top 50 Queen songs of all time, but pushing that aside...). I'll leave the list and see what people think: Best song from Queen I: Keep Yourself Alive Best song from Queen II: Seven Seas Best song from SHA: Now I'm Here Best song from ANATO: Bo Rhap (stating the obivous, but still, best song of all time...) Best song from ADATR: Somebody to Love Best song from NotW: WWRY Best song from Jazz: Don't Stop Me Now Best song from The Game: AOBTD Best song from FG: Flash's Theme Best song from Hot Space: Put Out The Fire Best song from The Works: It's A Hard Life Best song from AKOM: One Vision Best song from The Miracle: Breakthru Best song from Innuendo: Headlong Best song from MiH: A Winter's Tale Best song from Queen Rocks: No-One But You (QR is a compilation, I know, but I'm sure some people might count the ICLWY Retake if they liked it enough...) |

I'll list the ones that I think are the best first(a), then my personal favorites and the ones I'd rather listen to second(b). I'm probably more disposed to choose the deep track because I've listened the Greatest Hits CD so many times: Quee-a) Doing Alright Quee-b) Great King Rat Que2-a) White Queen (As It Began) Que2-b) March of the Black Queen ShHA-a) Stone Cold Crazy ShHA-b) Brighton Rock NatO-a) Bohemian Rhapsody NatO-b) Bohemian Rhapsody DatR-a) Somebody to Love DatR-b) You Take My Breath Away NotW-a) We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions* NotW-b) My Melancholy Blues Jazz-a) Fat Bottomed Girls Jazz-b) Don't Stop Me Now Game-a) Another One Bites the Dust Game-b) Save Me HoSp-a) Under Pressure HoSp-b) Back Chat Work-a) I Want to Break Free Work-b) It's a Hard Life AKoM-a) A Kind of Magic AKoM-b) One Vision Mira-a) I Want It All Mira-b) I Want It All Innu-a) These Are the Days of Our Lives Innu-b) The Show Must Go On MinH-a) Mother Love MinH-b) To Much Love Will Kill You CoRo-a) C-lebrity CoRo-b) N/A: I don't really enjoy any of the tracks enough to rank one with the above choices. *I consider "We Will Rock You" and "We Are The Champions" as one track. If you don't and you'd rather me pick one over the other, I'd say Champions is the better of the two. Hey, add me if you'd like to discuss Queen tracks! I'm looking for other people as passionate about Queen as I am, maybe even someone else from the Sacramento area? |

Wow, no one including The Cosmos Rocks?? |
| br5946 27.03.2011 13:26 |
I see people are including solo stuff, which must have slipped my mind at the time. So here are my decisions going down that avenue: Best song from Another World: One Rainy Wish Best song from Star Fleet: Let Me Out Best song from Back to the Light: A split between Resurrection, Driven by You and Just One Life - they're all bodacious! Best song from Shove It: Love Lies Bleeding Best song from Mad, Bad and Dangerous: Another toss-up between Breakdown, Foxy Lady and Better Things. Best song from Blue Rock: Put It All Down To Love - but this has an edge since it's probably my fave Cross song ever!!!! |
