Hello QZ'ers ! I need some help with a interview. I know there is a interview of the complete band in front of the Roger his drumset. I think the interview is before a show somewhere in 1980. I am looking for the youtube link. Andof course does anyone know where exact this was recorded ? |
VB94 28.01.2011 07:11 |
Did you mean this interview in Munich 1979 link |
Ghostwithasmile is BACK! 28.01.2011 07:19 |
Bi VB94, Thanks for the reply. No I do notmean the Municn interview. Bt the setting is simular to the munih interview. Queen in front of their drumset. But only fred with a moustache and is wearing a red t shirt. I only have a segment from that interview when Fred is saying "For the money, for the money!" |

Magicmatze : jackpot that's the one I mean. Now my questions: - Does anyone know where and when this was recorded ? - Is this interview complete on youtube or for download ? |
magicmatze 29.01.2011 11:26 |
I've never seen more of this, than the bits on COTW. This Interview/TV-appearance is also not mentioned on the common Queen-webpages. So I'm pretty shure that there is no Vid of this. At least up to now, none has uploaded it. :( |

It looks like 1980 or maybe 81. Is it just me, or does he look a bit like Rowan Atkinson with the haircut? |

yep, one of the oldest mysteries for me, must be an 80/81 interview. I have only ever seen it in DoRos documentaries. |

I strongly think it is 1980 : I have more footage from this and the band is seen in a indoor arena. In front of the drumset. Queen hardly didn'tplay any indoor arena in 1981 except tokyo, caracas and Montreal. If this was shot by the Doro's themself then I has to be europe 80. Most likely a German, or Austrian show. And hopefully (if this is all correct , I am only speculation!) a bit of concert footage was recorded as well. Well let's start hunting down the interview somehow somewhere....anyone ? |

I dont think its a DoRo shot, they had it either form QP or their own worldwide research for the Magic Years anthology. Agree with 1980, and the picture colours look as it was shot originally in NTSC , that supports the US tour and US TV theory. In which documentary you have seen more of this footage? |
The Real Wizard 07.02.2011 17:49 |
Check this out - link There is a picture of Freddie in the red shirt, taken during that same TV interview. All of these pictures are from the South American tour (focusing primarily on the Mar Del Plata and Rosario shows), so I think we can safely date the interview within a span of a week - somewhere between late February and March 6, 1981. |

Frankly i don't belive these interview was shot in argentine but i think you're right about that picture in the magazine cover are taken during the interview... First our TV norm is PAL not NTCS Second even if the pictures inside the magazine are from Mar Del Plata and Rosario, the Queen covers of this Magazine during the queen stay in argentine mainly aren't from argentine, generally are from 1979 or 1980 year. I know this cause i've got almost all the Queen "Pelo" Magazines. Ha ha reading this (the magazine) i rembered an anecdote: in a party in Buenos Aires, the group tried to throw to Jim Beach to a Frozen Swimming Pool! He guess their purposes and with a smile he moved out of the pool. Cheers! |

@bob : good catch !! Thanks ! On page 3 of the PDF file named : MARDEL - ROSARIA seems that these pictures were taken from these shows. My next question on the photo with JAMES KHALAF is that a camera standing besides him or a light atribute ? |
Ghostwithasmile is BACK! 08.02.2011 06:52 |
@MERCURY: Okay so the standard for Argentina is PAL , but is the , or was PAL the standard for the whole of South America ? I do believe the CARRACAS show was shot in NTSC is this correct ? |

Well caracas not is exactly South America (I belive is more Central America) Anyway Argentina has a different Standard that Venezuela and the majority countries in Central/South America. I don't remember for example the Standard of Brazil but i belive is a Hybrid PAL with 576 lines and 29,97 fps. And yes,the Caracas gig was shot in NTCS. Cheers! |

Oh yes,In fact all the Photos of the page 3 are from Mar Del Plata (MARDEL) Gig (May llega al estadio marplatense asediado por la prensa local --- May,comes to the Mar del plata stadium followed by the local TV). But the Photo witH JAMEN KHALAF of the page 4 are from Rosario and YES is tv camera! How i said the whole concert was recorded by the local tv but actually the tapes are missing (They said me that probably someone stolen them, but they're sure that the director of the channel has a copy on his private colection) Cheers! |

Well is there any footage known of one of these shows ? Had anyone ever seen these this footage ? Was it tv broadcasted ? I;m getting curious now! I want the damn footage! |
GT 09.02.2011 16:37 |
Both the Freddie in the red T shirt and Brian from COTW were filmed on the USA tour in 1980. All four were interviewed by JJ Jackson individually. |

Does the recently brought info about the archive of Bob Harris from the US shows has a connection with this? |

Of course there will also be scenes from the tour U.S. and Japan." Does anyone know anything about this film? PS. Sorry for my very bad English |
