I think the Queen - box will appear somewhere in 2011.
Due to the 40th Anniverssary of Queen.
Roger told that Queen will release something next year which FANS really like.
What's is your opinion?
Neither Roger nor Brian nor QPL seem to have a clue what the fans would like, despite greg brooks & Gary Taylor routinely reading these forums.
As a fan of 24 years, I find myself increasingly losing interest. Hell, I'm more excited about the deluxe editions of Twisted Sisters albums which include a second disc of demos (?) that are due....
Keeping in tune with all the bitter posts lately...
I'D LOVE TO SEE A QUEEN, GREATEST BOXED GREATEST HITS COLLECTION!!!!!
:-o!!!!!!!!!!
XD!!!!!!
Anyways... in the real, i WOULD LOVE TO SEE A TRIUMPHANT B-Sides, demos etc set...
but i DO like the idea otherwise of re-releasing the albums with era exclusive content...
(as in... RELEASE ALL OF IT... De Lane Lea on I & II, BBC sessions on respective albums, rough demos on THE MIRACLE etc)
that would be exemplary of them.
i'm just saying... even despite the fact that they're demos and scratched tracks etc. It seems that the die hard community craves em.
and at like 2cents a cd (to press em)... i don't see why it shouldn't be so.
Queen Productions doesn't give a shiny shite about any Queen fan. Let alone a whole Queen community.
Brian is obsessed with the damn musical.
Roger just got married.
There are far more interesting bands out there. Go out and explore. Queen is dead. There I said it.

that's not a page break ^^ it's a pulse.
;)
Just kidding.
Yeah, the output's probably pretty much gone. I still admire their works (solo bits) when they come out.... if i can ever find em.
But of course the big wigs know that with some fair promotion or boosts in a film (as evidenced by a REAL HOMAGE in Wayne's World) the music can be opened up to a new generation (and re sold)...
it's why their music will live on.
While i can't say that any bands currently rate as high as them, i know what you mean.
I do listen to stuff.. but i'm at the crux where most of it sounds incredibly derivative of someone else...
:-/
Age, my friend...

GOOD POINT...
And besides, the last box set i bought from them was VERY disappointing... (Hollywood Records)... 25th Anniversary...
hell, even the hinges broke on it quickly... the slip cases didn't reproduce with much quality, and i hate slip cases anyways..
but most importantly all it featured was some essay by some Hollywood Records Rep... nothing new or novel...
I would have been better off buying the few i didn't have at the time individually (Queen I, Queen II, NOTW)
HOWEVER... that FM boxed set should have been released stateside... as not too many people even know or CARE about FM's solo albums to begin with (thus: whoever would buy em, probably ALREADY has em... or would want something new in order to buy them again)
all that excitement for nothing :-/ (For the record: it WAS exciting... i was like 17)
I am now 38.
The box set - and subsequent unreleased material was first mooted in 1992. When I was 20.
So, I've moved from being a relative youngster to being almost middle-aged.
I've stopped hoping.
Matt, I'm assuming that you are talking about "The Crown Jewels" box set from Hollywood Records.
While there is almost no additional content other than the booklet and slip cases, it is where I go to EVERY time to play Queen's albums from 1973-1980...the remastering is far superior than the original Hollywood releases.
I was going to create a Jim Beach QZ user with his picture and all just to reply to this topic: "No", but I guess I'm too lazy.
The point is: if 10,000 fans reply "Yes" but Jim and the guys say "No", then it is No. It's not a matter of winning a poll, hehe :)

Yes, that's the one. I had no idea the mastering was different than those earlier releases. I'll go compare sometime at home vs my brothers' (PRE 82) Queen Collection. (i happen to think they're 80's output is still pretty damn good, if you skip most of THE WORKS)
actually the hollywood set OMITTED some photos,... i'm sure someone complained about this years ago and delineated exactly what... but ..eh, yatta yatta.. i made copies of em, keep the original in sleeves with my Aging VHS collection.

- a 70's concert DVD
I'd like to something like, you know
They probably won't release a box set any time soon. First, there will be additional remasters, then some more greatest hits packages, because these are the things that sell to the majority of the people. They may release the live Hammersmith, though, but probably not for a few years, at least.
