let the ball rolling !
Due to commitments with members of Queen & Roger Daltrey, Jamie won't be able to join the band (ed. The Eagles) on their tour this november.

Two separate events or some sort of Queen+ supergroup i.e Queen + Daltrey + members of Foo Fighters? Daltrey's not the man he once was and could anihilate the Queen catalogue with his screeching. Still, if it is true, I'd pay to see it.
Maybe it's for that Prince's Trust charity gig this November?
Btw Neil Murray also talked on Facebook about having fun jamming with Queen and Roger Daltrey, and if no-one believes me I'll screencap it :-)
please upload the neil murray quote!
so it's brian, roger, neil, jamie, spike and roger daltrey?
back to the "who's singing this time?" routine
Daltrey WAS an superb singer, he's lost alot of power though - so it'll be interesting to see what songs he'll sing
Hmmm, agree with Holly. In looking at the wording, it's not clear if it is one commitment to both of them, or two separate commitments. Pardon my ignorance, but has JM ever performed alongside RD before?

LOL! What I wouldn't give to be a fly on the wall, when Brian asks Daltrey what he's being doing over the summer. "Oh, you know, fishing, hunting, that sort of thing." :D
It actually sounds more like he may have committments to both artists....SEPARATELY...
....OR
maybe they're re-re-releasing the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert...
It's ONLY BEEN like THREE YEARS!!! ;)
and Rog's reworking the vocal track...
maybe they could get Robert Plant to rework his mess ;)
Juuust kidding bout the last bits...
BTW: was the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert released in any better format around the globe? I have the VHS version (edited but still more complete)...and this godawful US DVD release... where none of the 1st acts and only SOME of the duets are shown...
i mean, i KNEW it was TWO DISCS...and i READ the tracklisting... but somehow i figured it would have been remastered for DVD...like i could see Brian's nose hairs...or i could VISUALLY see how bad Def Leppard smelled....
but it didn't have that either.... :-/
The UK dvd of the freddie tribute is actually quite good
2 discs and the 2nd disc has various interviews with people who performed and some stuff with Freddie inc interviews
I recorded the entire live broadcast here in Holland.
The complete show with all the crappy parts perfectly intact :)
I think it was recorded in LP (long play) as VHS tapes did not run for 5 hours
or... 300minute tapes were just on the market and I used one of those.. either way the quality must be terrible by now.
Is there a DVD of the original broadcast in circulation? Or hasn't anyone recorded and transfered it?
This is all really funny, because during the Freddie tribute concert 18 yrs ago, Kurt Loder (MTV reporter) interviewed Roger Daltrey after his performance and playfully suggested that he could become Queen's new singer!
Loder prodded him on by saying "You're free....THEY are free...whad'ya think?" Daltrey just smiled demurely.
I believe that was during one of the many periods of time where the Who were no longer...lol.

Well, Brian isn't the kind of person who shuns you when you don't think the way he does. He's friends with one of the most notorious homophobes in music history, Axl Rose.

Homophobes usually have problems of their own with...well, being gay.
Either that or it's a heavy rearing...
Who gives a **** so long as they're not trying to grab ur...."stash"...
BTW: this Neil Murray news is awesome :)
I'd love to hear some of that.... Rog rocks the harmonica pretty well,....(for an old guy ;)
The news on Queenonline mention that Roger Taylor is going to perform with (or at least in the same event as) Roger Daltrey.
