Online ticket seller Movietickets.com announced today that the second “Twilight” movie has taken the top spot on their list of the “Top 10 Advance Ticket Sellers of All-Time.” It passed the record set four years ago by “Star Wars – Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.” Even established franchises like “The Lord of the Rings,” “Harry Potter” and “The Dark Knight” couldn’t match the early sales of this highly anticipated sequel.“New Moon” also became the top pre-selling movie ever for the other major online ticket seller, Fandango.com. Both Movietickets.com and Fandango report that the movie accounts for 94% of all the tickets currently being sold on their sites.Fandango also points out that its second-highest ticket seller yesterday was Thursday night’s re-release of “Twilight,” which is playing in some theaters before “New Moon” debuts at midnight. |

Are the Twilight movies any good? I had absolutely no interest in them at first, haven't seen the first one, haven't read the books, but everyone is talking about them, and now im curious! |

What I can't understand is the stigma that exists against things like masturbation and trainspotting, when it appears socially acceptable to be a fan of these books. Movies. Whatever. |
Micrówave 20.11.2009 03:35 |
These have got to me the worst Vampire movies, ever. I don't believe Stephanie Meyer did much research into lore, rather decided creativity could tell her story better. If you are actually a fan of Vampires playing baseball or fantasize about having sex with the undead, maybe this is your thing. It certainly is not mine. Do yourself a favor. Rent Blackula. It's a much better storyline and is hilarious. And they actually have legitimate actors. I believe the Twilight cast was assembled using one of those Model Search machines you see in the local malls. |
Mr.Jingles 20.11.2009 08:55 |
One thing I can conclude from the success of Twilight. Teenage girls love whatever crap you sell them as long as it has a good looking dude on it, and that's good enough to make them go crazy. First it was boy bands, then it was teen TV dramas, and now this. |

Hmm... ok, i seem to have gotton a pretty definate majority answer! I'm not a massive vampire fan anyway. And the werewolf in the trailer is really not cool. I mean, really, Michael Jackson's werewolf was much more effective, and being a child of the 80s, that is what i think of when i hear werewolf, not a person randomly changing into a doggy/wolfy thing. On the other hand, everyone is talking about it! I think i'll probably watch it at some stage, but won't be rushing out to see it. And I'll look up the Blackula trailer later, thanks! |

Ok, I'm going to admit it it...I am hooked. I told myself..swore to myself that I would not pick up one of these books or watch these movies bc one...I'm just not one to follow the crowd...two I thought it was a teenage thing, and three...I have no time to get addicted to anything else! However at work, one of our guidance counselors asked me if I was going with the rest of my work friends to see New Moon at the midnight showing. I told her of course not and I'm not interested in the books or the movie(s). She told me I really didn't know what I was missing and coming from her I had to respect it. You would just need to know her like I do. So I said to myself, well ok if the opportunity comes around and I'm in a bookstore and the books leap out at me, I'll buy them. Something wanted me to start reading these books bc that very night my neighbor asked me if I read them and I said no but I was thinking about starting...she went back home and brought me back all four books. She had already bought them and read them..she said I could keep them as long as I needed to. Well shit I thought I guess it's meant to be so I started last Friday and I haven't put the books down except for to sleep, eat, and well...TMI. The other night I watched Twilight, borrowed it from a teacher I work with. I wasn't very impressed but realized it was considered "low budget." I downloaded a bootleg copy (oh shaddup you all have done it to at one point or another) of New Moon and it was better but I think the movies lack a lot. I realize that each book is anywhere from 500-600 some odd pages so it is difficult to cram all of that in to a movie but anyway. I do hope the movies get better as they come out. They are cheesey. I enjoy the books much more. I am on the 3rd book right now and I won't admit what I'm waiting for to happen but some of you can probably assume ;) So anyway, my name is Melissa and I am a Twilight addict. Nice to meet you all. |

This is the stupidest craze I've ever seen..... Today was a short day at school so my French teacher let one of us bring a movie and a girl had the nerve to bring Twilight -_- It was so stupid!!!! My guy friends and I were making fun of it the whole time we watched it! XD and the only funny part of it was when Edward gets in the (rather dim) sunlight to show Bella (stupid nickname) how he gets all sparkly and "beautiful"... XD I asked, "Does his dick sparkle too??" We kept making sick jokes because this film was nothing but staring, stalking, and abnormal breathing between two extremely sexual people! So much sexual tension! And Bella looked like she orgasmed in her sleep. I couldn't stop laughing at how pathetic the storyline was! My friends were talking about how Taylor Lautner looks like a pug dog! How is this romantic?? How is this a love story?? We kept waiting for Bella to get laid because it seemed like she wanted it since the beginning! The only thing keeping me awake was my friends' hilarious comments! That actress playing Bella wasn't even pretty! I couldn't understand how any of those guys at her school in the movie would hit on her or even be interested. Why do they all look stoned??? Man, this really is stupid! XD Can't wait til it's all over (which is unfortunately how many years away? T_T) I'd rather watch The Parent Trap (1961) again. Although they had some cheap filming in some parts, the dialogue and the storyline was funny!! Rant over. |

We did - and so did hundreds of other people, all lined up two hours prior. We didn't get home until 3am, and I really want to say it was worth it but not even close. Afterward, my daughter said she'll forgo the openings for the next two and maybe - maybe - watch the movies when they come out on DVD. She did love the books, so maybe it just doesn't work in the theater... or with extremely dull acting by the lead character. In my opinion, for what it's worth, only two actors were worth watching - Billy Burke and Anna Kendrick. Otherwise, this movie was a complete yawner. |

it is rude to call someone names for liking Twilight ..... it is crappy but it also has the factors in it that you need to even gain a huge audience... if to write to order and to write predictable to make millions is a talent then the author is very talented!!! it might be fucking shit but at the same time, it takes some sense to make something that is so easy to make a fortune out of people .... |
