I've just wondered, as I notice a LOT of people who post in the personal section never seem to post in the Queen sections of the forum. Who here owns all Queen albums? Who here owns all Queen albums and a lot or all of their singles? Who here owns only a couple albums? Who here just downloaded them for free on the computer and are satisfied with that? |

I own GH3. The rest I listen to on YouTube. |

I've got every studio album up to Live Killers. A couple live albums (LK and Wembley). And a few other products. Everything purchased at local record stores, so there's nothing that could be considered rare or collectable. Napster and Youtube covers the rest. |

I own (in CDs): Queen Queen II Sheer Heart Attack A Night at the Opera A Day at the Races News of the World Jazz The Game Hot Space The Works A Kind of Magic The Miracle Innuendo Made in Heaven In other CDs, I have: Greatest Hits 1, 2 & 3 Classic Queen Live at Wembley Queen: Pre-Ordained Q+PR: Return of the Champions I also have quite a few vinyl albums and singles. Enough to fill a shelf, that is. And lots of other merchandise, and plentiful DVDs. So, I would say I've a bountiful Queen collection. Not nearly as bountiful as those of some, though. Yes. |

I don't have the Q&PR stuff but everything else, a lot of stuff many times over and over and over. Why? I ask myself all the time. I was hardcore a few years ago (never listened to anyone else) but now I listen to lots of stuff and Queen are like my mother, always there when I need them. You know you have a problem when you've got 12 copies of the Flash Gordon soundtrack. |

I looked for the albums at the music stores and realised Queen is in short supply (demand) over here (India). A search at the largest music store in Mumbai threw up only The Works and A Kind Of Magic, the Freddie Video collection DVD and the QRM DVD. I decided to order the rest through Amazon, and started saving for it. Then I struck gold when a cousin announced he was visiting Japan, because I'd just found on some website that the compelete Queen albums catalog was being launched in Japan in a brand new package. He confirmed that its available at a music store near the place he is staying in Tokyo, and will be getting it for me when he's back in October. It will certainly cost me a package, but guess what, I'm gonna be paid a bonus in Oct so I can afford it : D |

It will certainly cost me a package, but guess what, I'm gonna be paid a bonus in Oct so I can afford it : D It takes time, but it's worthwhile to get it for free on the web - through P2P clients, for instance, it's possible to find any Queen album in FLAC or lossless quality, with covers and so on. I downloaded it all, I kept my PC on and just let it go - I burned the CDS, and some of them are already the Japanese releases you're refering to. They play great either on IPod or DTS 5.1, and I payed for it, considering the large use of the band, not even 1/5 the price I'd have payed buying the originals. DVDS are all ripped off in perfect quality and sold here in markets and so on, even bootleg concerts from Queen, they'd charge you like 10 dollars. It's sure worthwhile. The money I spared I used to improve my savings, buy books and musical equipments and other stuff which furthers my education and culture. So, I guess it's a non-zero sum game: Queen gains a fan, who goes to the concert - I went to the Q+PR!, someone enthusiastic about the band who'll spread the word about it and make it more popular and, therefore, rentable as a logo and I enjoy the music while enhancing my education and building my savings. But, of course, this is me, I have no moral or ethical barries when it comes to this kind of things - even the law is so ambiguous about it here...copyright is such a controversial issue, because, in some way, the state has to provide me the free access to culture and education whitout forcing me to sacrifice my basic needs. ---- By the way, I laughed out loud at your remark, Jake Britt. Hahaha. Thanks, always good to have a good laugh. Humor is a cornerstone of civilization! -- END OF PRIVATE OWNERSHIP END OF PRIVACY END OF SOCIAL CONTROL BY ELITES -- Best regards you all! |

Who here owns all Queen albums?Only a small percentage have them all. I'd guess about 30%. Who here owns all Queen albums and a lot or all of their singles?30% or zero, depending. No one owns ALL of their singles. And I'm sticking to my 30% estimate of album owners. Of those 30%, I think all of them have "a lot" of their singles. Who here owns only a couple albums? No one. Everyone has a few. If you can afford the computer and the internet access, odds are that you have a copy of The Game laying around and probably a few more. Who here just downloaded them for free on the computer and are satisfied with that? Greg Brooks and Andreas Mercury |
