This is it. The last year. The last year when Queen appeared on stage as Freddie Mercury (vocals, piano, guitar), Brian May (guitar, vocals), John Deacon (bass guitar, backing vocals ???) , Roger Taylor (drums, backing vocals) and an unofficial member Spike Edney (keyboards, backing vocals, guitar). This was the longest and most expensive Queen tour ever. They even broke some rules when they decided to make a concert in a communist country - in Nepstadion in Budapest, Hungary. I've read some rumours that they planned to visit also Czechoslovakia and even USSR but I don't know if it's true. I have chosen these concerts : 1986-06-21 - Maimarktgelände, Mannheim, Germany 1986-07-09 - St. James Park, Newcastle, UK 1986-07-21 - Vienna, Austria 1986-07-22 - Vienna, Austria 1986-08-09 - Knebworth Park, Stevenage Every single concert is in a separate post in this thread |

Date : 21. June 1986 Venue : Maimarktgelände, Mannheim, Germany Lineage : SBD > FM > ? > CD(x) > WAV > FLAC There are other sources available for this concert, all come from different recordings of the radio broadcast, so all are about the same (excellent) quality. I was thinking for a long time if I should upload this boot or the 1st gen recording which was shared here not so long before, and I have decided for this one. Here are the links : QueenLive description : link . Quality : Amazing Lineage: "One Sweet Moment" (silvers) > WAV (EAC) > FLAC (TLH Level 8) except track 07 from CD2 (Hammer To Fall) : "One Sweet Moment" (silvers) > WAV (Windows Media Player) > FLAC (TLH Level 8) Comments : No surprises in the setlist. Now I'm Here (Reprise) has worse sound than the rest of the concert, so I think it comes from another source. It has almost the whole recording a very stable sound with no major problems. A funny moment during Tutti Frutti when Roger is a bit too late on the drums to start the heavier part of the song. This is the complete concert. Tracklisting : CD1 : 01. One Vision 02. Date : 21. July 1986
Venue : Wiener Stadthalle, Vienna, Austria
Lineage : AUD > master tape > CD(x) > WAV > Cool Edit Pro (track re-editing, click removal on 2 tracks) > WAV > FLAC (TLH level 8, removing SBEs)
This one has been shared originally by SirGH, these are his comments :
Queen Vienna, Austria Stadthalle July 21, 1986 As promised, here is the master transfer of the first night in Vienna '86. Along with the following night, it's among the top ten live recordings of Queen. The sound quality is simply excellent. The audience sings Happy Birthday to Brian before Love Of My Life, prompting him to say, "I like birthdays!" The performance is definitely an energetic one overall, as Queen surely loved playing in Austria. Sorry about the strange track dividing! I didn't want to add a CDR gen and/or any SBEs, so I decided to leave it alone. Lineage: AUD > Master > CDR (x) > WAV > FLAC frontend (level 8) Disc 1: 1. One Vision (intro) 2. One Vision 3. Tie Your Mother Down 4. In The Lap Of The Gods...Revisited 5. Seven Seas Of Rhye 6. A Kind Of Magic 7. Under Pressure 8. Another One Bites The Dust 9. Who Wants To Live Forever / I Want To Break Free 10. Impromptu 11. Guitar Solo 12. Now I'm Here 13. Love Of My Life 14. Is This The World We Created? Disc 2: 1. (You're So Square) Baby I Don't Care / Hello Mary Lou 2. Tutti Frutti 3. Bohemian Rhapsody 4. Hammer To Fall 5. Crazy Little Thing Called Love 6. Radio Ga Ga 7. We Will Rock You / Friends Will Be Friends 8. We Are The Champions / God Save The Queen I didn't like the strange track dividing and the few clicks so I decided to re-edit it properly, now every song is in a separate file, I hope it's OK for you :) Mediafire links : (I have uploaded THIS ONE CONCERT THE WHOLE WEEKEND to f*ing mediafire from my home, I hope you appreciate it !) The sound quality on this is simply excellent. It's very nice to hear the Mustapha intro to Crazy Little Thing Called Love. This is one of the best Magic Tour shows in my opinion. They didn't play In The Lap Of The Gods...Revisited tonight, instead they go right into Seven Seas Of Rhye after Tie Your Mother Down. This is sourced from the master cassette, so it simply can not get any better than this. Originally shared by jose something (our good pal Joe). He disappeared suddenly, I hope he's OK. Rapidshare links : link link link link link link link link I have a slightly off-topic request - I have been this year in Stadthalle on the Queen + Paul Rodgers concert. I have tried to record it but I have failed, for some reason I have recorded only the first song. In the case that somebody has recorded this concert (either audio or video) and is willing to trade it, please let me know :) |

So how should I end this thread else then with the last Queen concert ? Date : 9. August 1986 Venue : Knebworth Park, Stevenage, UK Lineage : AUD > master > "Thank You All" (link ) > WAV > FLAC (level 8) The last track is a compilation done from "Thank You All" and the old high-gen source. In the case you already have the bootleg from the torrent, maybe the only interesting thing for you is the last track (done by SirGH, I think) Rapidshare links : link link link link link link link link link |

So that's all from Queen Live. I would love to continue with other years. I could provide some concerts for 1992 (both Christmas songs by The Cross with special guest stars), some Brian May gigs from 1993 and 1998 and of course almost all QPR gigs. However could somebody who has something which could be used for the threads for the years 1987 - 1989 contact me ? |

daffy_the_duck wrote: Thank you very much Pittrek! Really nice selection. And thanks to Olivier for the One sweet moment, I discover that WMP could encode in wav... Yep, Windows Media Player can do that. But take care of Windows Media Player. I once discovered that for some bootlegs I extracted with WMP, the resulting files were corrupted. So now I decided to stick to EAC which is known for being the best tool, and that's probably not for nothing ;o) ... Thanks a lot Pittrek for that beautiful share, finishing with the Knebworth show, this one is a should-have anyone, if only for the part of history it represents ! If you had to download only 5 shows from Queen, this one should be among them. But of course every shows share here by Pittrek are important as they are probably the best versions you'll get to hear (at the present time) of these shows, at least that's why Pittrek worked that hard on that. Let's have a loud THANK YOU for this wonderful work, that took several months only for the pleasure of Queenzoners. Dedication to quality and kindness, that's really nice from you. so, THANK YOU !!!! Hope we could continue the work and provide you more shows from the 1986-2005 period ! Regards, Olivier, Belgium. Ps : you're right about Joe, aka Josedequeso, I was also wondering recently what happened to him. Let's hope nothing bad, if ever someone know him closely, it seems we can't contact him anymore, please tell us that everything's OK ! |

Thanks a lot! hope you don't get bored now that the series is complete :-D some suggestions (wrong thread, i know... but i'm lazy...) unfortunately i only got those following concerts only as MP3, which is (enough for me but) , of course, untradeable :-( nevertheless i'd suggest them for the most being of exellent quality I hope that will inspire some FLAC-suppliers to UL their files :-D the Cross: 1988/03/10, UK, London, Town & Country Club, the Cross: 1988/04/23, Germany, Dortmund, Westfalenhalle II the Cross: 1988/12/04, UK, London, Le Palais (not for the quality but the fact that BM & JD appear!) the Cross: 1990/12/07, UK, London, Astoria Theater (ex quality, feat. BM) the Cross: 1991/10/15, Germany, Munich, Circus Krone (mainly soundcheck!) the Cross: 1991/10/22, Germany, Düsseldorf, Philipshalle Brian May: 1991/11/21, London (collab with Jerry Lee Lewis) if anyone is interested i could upload some MP3s for gathering some impressions.... wasn't there some tv-gigs by the cross in 1987 ? my archives leak of that, but i'm sure they're somewhere out there :-D of course i am not well informed about those official theCross-bootlegs provided by the fan club, and if it would be ok to publish them here. and finally (again!) a big thank you for providing all those nice FLACs of the best concerts of our favourite band... |

Thank you very much for your Best of The Best series, Pittrek. I hope you continue with other nices shares. I have a question regarding Mannheim though. Didn't Sir GH write in the other thread, that this is NOT the GE bootleg? Also, the lineage of the original share was "CD-R >", not "Silvers >". Can someone please clarify whats up with this recording? http://www.queenconcerts.com/queenzone/709783.html |

I've downloaded disc 1 from your share Pittrek, and the ffp match perfectly with the gig pointed by eYe (at least for disc 1). But as Bob says there is a mistake and this recording is not the GE release Done under pressure in Germany. As far as I know the GR release wasn't shared here, only this one and a first gen from T275 FM (which sounds better than this one). I could reupload the 1st gen if needed, but the best would be a compil from the "Done under pressure in Germany" from GE and the 1st gen. I hope this could help everybody. |
eYe 19.11.2008 11:06 |
How to get working links: The trick is to move the cursor over the link with Home, End or Left/Right Arrow keys. If this doesn't help (e.g. pasted links) press Enter in front of the link, remove the blank line with Backspace and then press End to turn the link blue = working. |

OK, I'm a little lost now. Is only the lineage incorrect, or the comments also have to be corrected ? It says : "Comment: A truly superb upgrade of the Mannheim soundboard recording. Although it has better sound quality than the 'Reigns The World' bootleg, this one has a bit more tape hiss than the previous release. Having said that, this set is still far superior to the others as it not only contains the full show, it is also without any fade in/outs which were so often present on previous releases. This is the definitive version of the show, and it cannot and will not get any better than this. Note that the previous bootleg release with the same title (on Leopard label) has worse quality than this Gypsy Eye re-release." Is it always correct or does the comments corresponding to "Done Under Pressure In Germany" ? By the way, I think I have "Monnem Magic" here somewhere, do you think I could help by sharing that one ? see Bob's comments about the various releases : link Regards, Olivier, Belgium. |

Hm...I don't think the series should come to an end! This was the "best of the best", right? Now, we can move forward to the "good enough" series, comprised of concerts which, althought not worth of being ranked among the very best, are interesting enough to be part of any fan's collection. Then, after the good enough series, we could have something like...the worst of the worst series too! It'd be fun. lol Thanks a lot, Pittrek, it was great. If it were not for you, I wouldn't have listened to some of the most interesting Queen's live material. And, well, my all-time favorite is Hammy 79, which you did a superb job on. It sounds better than ever before! Port '74, Hammy 75 & 79, it all features in my modest collection, and I can't thank you enough for dedicating your time and effort to make these, and many other, concerts available to us in their best versions. You did a great job! Thanks a lot! |

I can only think on a few at this moment: Stockholm 1978 (ex quality - needs the speed correction, click removeling) New York 17 11 1978 (2 source mix would be great, since most of the better source is in vg+ quality) Cleveland 23 1 1977 ( SBD a bit muffled sound - don't know if there is a better source out there, or the shared version can be improved) |
