Clearly, Brian May and Roger Taylor made a mistake to call their new band, "Queen + PR" because they are inviting comparisons to the Original Queen Legacy. IMO, they should've left the "Queen" name alone. That band is forever gone, now living in the Halls of Time as the Best Band ever. Instead, they should've announced the formation of a New Group Entirely. And called themselves: "Queen II" That way, people would know it's a new group entirely, but still has some link to their past. Queen II. I like it. |

"Queen (2 + 4)"...? no but seriously, Queen, Queen + PR, Bob the builder's rock revolution, they have the right to call them selves whatever they want . just be grateful that those who came too late to see the original, get a chance to see those who are left. my 2.5 cents worth |

I thought the guy who started this thread said yeterday he was leaving Queenzone for good? Oh well I'm glad you didn't otherwise we may have never gotten the chance to take part in this facinating debate of why they are calling themselves Queen or why they are calling themselves Queen+ Paul Rodgers or Green Onions or Queen 2 or whatever? BORING!!!! |

Now take your over-christian and womanizing ass elsewhere, and don't slam the door on your way out, despite saying you'd leave, even though nobody cared." It has a nice ring to it, I think. |

ps looked what happenned to ELO when Bev Bevan re-branded to ELO 2 skint and now a DJ and Part Time drummer with the rebranded Move playin to 200 people in working mens clubs round brum. and not to mention the rest of ELO playimg now as the Orkestra with some success at least to around 1000 people. I think only Jeff Lynne came out with any credibility however after the ELO 2 traversty he tried to re brand as original ELO and flopped with all concerts cancelled and an album which only equalled ELO2's chart position. My message is QPR is great keep up the karaoke with PR and so long as were treated to Roger and Brians acoustic trips then we are happy. A tour of mostly Cosmos Rocks and Brian and Roger stuff clearly identifiable from there queen days with a couple of classics chucked in would be great. My set List would be: Intro : Cosmos Rockin C- Lebrity Still Burnin Headlong (Brian & Paul Vocal) Call Me (band acoustic) 39 (band acoustic) Say its not true (Roger then Band ) some things that glitter bad company feel like makin love Interval: love of my life (brian vocal) another world (brian vocal) We believe (all band) Queen medley: Bohemian Rhapsody no middle Under Pressure Another one bites the dust A kind of Magic Radio Gaga (Roger & Paul Vocal) Seagull (Paul Acoustic) Small Warboys All right now Show must Go On Encore: Surfs Up schools out We Will Rock You We are the Champions God Save the Queen |

Ray D O'Gaga wrote:I agree. Of course you can hear a lot of Paul Rodgers on this album, since he's the lead singer! However, if you listen a bit harder, you can clearly hear Roger's and Brian's presence, of course in the playing, but also in the material. Songs like "Surf's Up" is classic Roger Taylor, starts off like something from Strange Frontier, and ends up sounding like it would fit perfectly on Electric Fire - it's not hard to imagine Roger singing it (and his backing vocals really are obvious). And Brian is all over "Still Burnin'" and "We Believe", which sounds like a mix between "Las Palabras" and "Why Don't We Try Again" from Antother World.Hadrian wrote:Obviously you're not listening hard enough :)Treasure Moment wrote:I agree; this sounds nothing like May or Taylor. The technically correct name would be something like (Queen / 2) + Paul Rodgers + 3 It's accurate, but not very catchy. I vote for Erin's "Quodgers", because I smile every time I say it. |

I don't really care about how they wanna call themselves, as long as I can go to their show!!
