1) How many shows do you plan to upload ? 2) Wouldn't it be better to share them on some tracker which can be used by anyone ? Like Queenzone / TheTradersDen / Tapecity ... |
Nummer2 09.09.2008 05:05 |
Dimeadozen IS a tracker that everybody can use. Even much better than the QZ tracker, that isn't very reliable. Registration is free, though a bit tedious at times. And what's even more important: There's some kind of quality control. You won't get away with cloaked MP3 files. And, especially if you are interested not only in Queen, you have to GIVE something to GET something at Dime. Maybe that's fatoldsun's purpose. (But if somebody would be so kind to upload the shows to the QZ tracker after downloading at Dime, that would be very nice, of course.) |

Nummer2 wrote: And what's even more important: There's some kind of quality control. You won't get away with cloaked MP3 files.I'm not sure of that. I found on Dime the soundcheck of 2nd sept. 84 in Birmingham shared with the real dazzler boot and it was lossy. I think it was the soundcheck added by Ginger here and passed in flac on Dime. And Bob said that some Led Zep gigs shared on Dime were lossy too. But it's a minority. (But if somebody would be so kind to upload the shows to the QZ tracker after downloading at Dime, that would be very nice, of course.)Rotterdam 77 should come soon |
Nummer2 09.09.2008 07:58 |
Sure, Daffy, you're right. That's why I said "some kind" of quality control. The amount of shows there is so huge that you can't expect the mods to detect everything official or lossy. But at least they try their best. I accept QZ's rules and I love this site. But my response was more directed towards Tiger's flaming. |
L-R-TIGER1994 09.09.2008 11:05 |
What a great job!!!posting every concert that was shared here one million times,I would search all the concerts on QZ and repost them again for you if you like. |

I've tried several times to log in on Dime without any luck. I've used the samr Username and Password as i use here, and I always get: Error. I've also tried a different, but the same happens then. Why can't you just upload the shows here, so that we new collectors can easily get them too? It would be musc appreciated! Thanks in advance!! |

Thanks in advance!!i'm a new collector as well. i've only been collecting queen for about a month or two now. the reason why i'm uploading to dime is because there is less chance of them dying within 2 days. i've had in excess of 50 people downloading eacht torrent and that is only going to increase with the later shows having more hits... i just checked and dime's "sign-up" is usually closed because of the ammount of users there, i think they can hold just over 100,000 and they make that the limit, but they have a massive team of mods and admins that are continuously deleting inactive accounts which there are alot of. and people always get banned for posting shit so if u keep checking it once a day, i guarantee you'll be a member in less than 2 weeks. and the library there is HUGE!!! if ur not a member in 2 weeks AND u've looked EVERY day then i will eat my hat! lol |

FOS, thanks so much for sharing these shows on Dime. I'll share some of them here (although IMHO many originated here). Better to have a show twice than miss out completely! EDIT : On second thoughts, I'd rather not start new torrents for existing shows, where the only difference is, say, the track name. The best thing would be to do a search here, bump the thread and ask for seeders. I'll help and I'm sure other people will as well! :) |

Welcome to Queenzone, fatoldsun. You are very welcome to post the concerts you downloaded from Queenzone on Dime and post your links on Queenzone. There has always been an exchange of torrents between QZ and Dime. So, you are a new collector since 2 months and you have downloaded about 70 concerts - I think that is quite a number and it does not look like you had any difficulties to finish your downloads. Actually, I think a little gratitude would be more in place than dissing this website and complaining about the lack of quality control. If you did not find more early shows, you did not look properly. |

fatoldsun 10.09.2008 00:57 |
anyway... i'll be continuing so people who dont have these roio's can keep downloading them. only trying to be nice :) and remember, if u wana check out the info all u have to do is click on the link and it'll tell u everything u need to know :) Queen - 1974-04-21 - St. Bernard Parish Civic Auditorium, New Orleans, USA link and... I have exactly the same opinion as fatoldsun. The Queen trading (or better: sharing) community doesn't have high quality standards if compared to other communities. After a half decade of internet sharing this has become a big problem because lots of shows are mislabeled, don't carry any info or are degraded in quality. Not to speak of the countless lossy conversions. The Quen hub has a giant amount of material, but I found several fakes or lossy files there, so that I have decided to stop using it. fatoldsun will encounter many problems with his files, that's for sure. But so much the better, that he's trying his best to share his Queen shows with us. I'm sure that it doesn't do harm, if some Queen concerts are shared several times in several versions, as long as they are shared in the best possible form. So thank you! |
YourValentine 10.09.2008 03:41 |
Nice of you being nice, fatsoldsun :-) It's not so nice to claim that half of your uploaded shows have not been available on Queenzone and you had to "resort" to the hub. For example, the Portland 74 Joe Maloney master you posted on Dime was originally posted on Dime less than a year ago. It was then seeded on Queenzone by Maruga if I remember well and then re-posted by Pittrek in his systematic "Best of" series on Rapidshare. Now you repost it, what is the use? @ Nummer 2: fatoldsun got his concerts from the hub/and or QZ and he did not even check the correct dates before posting them on Dime, so where is the progress? I do not say he should stop posting but I do not see why his shows are any better than the ones he downloaded here - they are the same, aren't they? I am very much in favour of sharing everywhere and all the time but I am getting tired of QZ being dissed by total newbies who act like they re-invented the wheel. Just go to Dime or Traders Den and try to post links to the QZ tracker because the QZ tracker is so much better and see how long you last there. It's not meant personally, fatoldsun, please keep posting but I hope you can see my point as a long time user of this forum :-) |
