I used to love going to the U.S, been there 6 times on holiday never Queen related, just a holiday. Havent been there for four years now. I think that policy will continue. Any resident/visitor can be treated like a criminal these days, for no reason at all.
Land of the free? BOLLOX
Land of the sheep.
WTF indeed!
Am definitely less interested in going their moreso now than ever.
Just the thought of CELLPHONES being searched through and having contents copied really alarms me.
I have numbers for certain contacts in the music and anime industries that I never share with people, and to think that the border agents would have those numbers copied really alarms me, as even though I seriously doubt they would give out such numbers, I do NOT feel comfortable with that thought.
In which case, SHOULD I ever travel to the US, I will make a backup list of my contacts and e-mail it to myself, and delete the list or certain people.
I'd suggest that for others as well.
And finally, a plea to our American friends here: PLEASE don't vote that Bush clone 'McCain'
These rules are already in place since 2006. Business travellers know that they can't bring any company data to the USA because the data will be spied out by the US with no protection on entering the country. With the excuse that they need to protect themselves against terrorism the Bush regime takes digital scans of fingerprints and photos from all tourists and spies out all data on PCs and mobile phones when people enter the country. Airlines must send all passenger data to the US immigration office and nobody knows where the data are stored and how long. Critical journalists have been sent back from the airport when they have a history of criticising US policy or US companies. It's better to stay away.
