I'm assuming at this stage per Brians blog entry last week that the new album has gone out of their hands now to be "processed"
I wonder will we see Bri bemoaning the fact that it was ripped from his hands before he was happy with it or will he actually have something positive to say about the whole process.
Not that I'm suggesting Brian has turned into a terrible old moan in his elder years ;-)
I fucking hate the music industry. It wouldn't surprise me if that is the case and the entire record will sound like the new version of Say it's not true. Goddamned computerised with echoes and fades to correct the so obvious errors made by the band, just to rush it to the release on AIDS day. But i'll hope not...
For example: Queen II took a few weeks to be recorded (we all know what is Queen II), and in the seventies they release almost 1 album by year, sometimes two!... and ALL of them great albums... classics.
I can't think that this coulb be a bad album, and bad recorded, when they took more than 2 years to record it.
I'll be very scared if this happens...
But I still trust in them.

I trust them too. I will make sure I buy that album the day it comes out!

Surely they must have taken 2 years to record that awful SINT as well?
I wouldn't trust them after that and C-Lebrity.

I would think they're setting our expectations low, only to pull a nice surprise or two when it comes out ;-)

I suppose that's true... Maybe they've been playing the worst possible songs just for that reason? :D
I would suggest this - let's expect the worst possible crap. I'm sure we will be all pleased when we here it for the first time.
BTW I love the new version of Say It's Not True (except the weird "echoes" - but it's Roger's song, so what can you expect else ?) and I liked also C'lebrity, it sounds like a good "unfinished demo", I'm sure that if they work on it it can end like a good song
I could imagine an Innuendo era Freddie doing C-Lebrity some justice. Come on, he made a meal of bloody Headlong didn't he?
All I'm getting at is that it's really not that terrible. I can certainly empathise with anyone who dislikes it, because I really don't dig the song that much.
All the same, there's worse.
I wonder if at least during the gigs Brian will make the solo from C-Lebrity a bit longer. The only thing that disappointed me on that song was the fact that the solo ends when it begins to sound good. If it ends up like Cream's Sunshine Of Your Love (lame short solo on the original, wonderful solos on stage), it will be a live highlight, imo.

Well, we could compare it to, say, Brian's "Another Worlds" which was years in the making. And that album.. er...
Uh oh. I'm off to prepare for the worst!

That would be a healthy idea... the last time dr May wished to set our expectations up high, he told us that Rocks Montreal's extras were even better than the SNL performance.
They can't possibly run out of things. All these unrelesed bsides, demos, videofootage I mean. There have to be tons of stuff left around in boxes that they easily could dust off and sell. Why fuck around with stuff that is already out there?
