jacky works tirelessly behind the scenes to get the tickets out for us. everytime we speak to her she is helpfull and friendly despite the fact that she must be under tremendous pressure to get the tickets to us. thanks to jacky we get our tickets 5 months before the concert.we get the best seats and we can get our tickets before the general sale.if it wasnt for jacky we would be queing around strange arenas in the early hours. we are very lucky to have jacky as our fan club leader becusase she cares for all of us and works to superhuman levels all for us! so thanks for been a great leader jacky. i think i am speaking for all the members when i say. we love you jacky your a great leader. three cheers for jacky. i welcome your comments |

Sorry have to disagree. I was in the fan club from 84-92 and found Jacky to be rude and a bullshitter. She practically ripped me off for my '86 tickets, sitting on them for weeks until my cousin who lived in London had to go to the fan club and Physically get them from the office after I had been bullshitted on the phone and by letter that they were in the post, the post office must have lost them blah, blah. Thank god I did get them cos it was one of the last gigs with Fred. |

I was a QFC for years and always found Jacky to be very friendly and helpful. I even got to visit her at he office when I was in London on a vacation. Had a great time. She got me tickets for the Freddie Tribute in '92 which I could have never got on my own. I don't know if she makes much money out of her life at the QFC but whatever she's made it can't be enough for the years of grief from some "fans" |

My goodness me, I really hope that Jacky doesn't have to read the bile and vitriol that some people feel the need to spew while under the comfort of a pseudonym on the internet. Very poor performance there, by some of the contributors. Perhaps you ought to go and vent your spleen on ratemyteacher.com |

Back in 1997 or so Brian and Roger attended a press conference in Barcelona when Queen Rocks was released, as they were also honoured by the spanish musical industry with an award in recognition of their musical career; I standed with a few other fans in the street, from 8 am to 14 pm, in front of the Hard Rock Cafe, were the press conference took place. Brian arrived first and ran from his limo getting in the Hard Rock Cafe without stopping 5 seconds to say one kind word to the less than twenty fans we were; Jim Beach arrived second, and was simply nasty and rude; and then arrived Roger, who stopped with the intention to sign some stuff for us, but his gorilla took him in the place quickly; I recall just one lucky girl got his Bo Rhap single signed by Rog. We were not allowed to attend the press conference and our pleas were not considered, but after much trying we were promised that Rog and Brian would attend us in the front door for signatures; so naively we organized a row and all that stuff until I thought they were lying, and had the suspiction they would be leaving the place from the back door. And so they did. I ran just to catch Brian getting in his limo and at least I obtained a smile from him before he and Roger disappeared. After that incident I felt very angry, frustrated and furious with my ... heroes !! They had been my heroes since I was 8 years old or so ! I wasn't able to play any Queen record for some weeks, and then decided to send an email to Jacky, just to explain my frustration to someone I considered quiete "relevant" in the Queen world by then. I wrote some lines without expecting any response from her, as I was sure my case was one in a trillion among many fans. But yes. I got a response from her. An extremely kind response from her apologizing on behalf of Brian and Roger. That was enough for me. I couldn't get the signatures I had been dreaming of for all my life, but someone apologized; and each one of the words Jacky wrote to me denoted comprehension to what I was feeling then. So, ten or eleven years later: many thanks Jacky |

LOL, you won't hear any comment about Jacky from me :-) I promised that to her ;-) But remember she's paid for it, it's her job. And I seriously doubt she "invests" into Queen as much time as we - webmasters of Queen websites - do... for free... |
Togg 08.07.2008 04:32 |
I think she gets a hard deal sometimes here, frankly she had the gumption to get up off her arse and make the fan club work (for many years) OK she gets paid for that, but so what? if she didn't we wouldn't have a fan club at all... and why get upset about the fact she gets paid, the idea in life is that we all get paid to do something we hopefully like, if you end up getting paid to do a job you hate, more fool you. She has alwas been very helpful to me and I have been in the fan club since 1980, so I can't say a bad word about her (from my experience at least) I do however wish Queen themselves would be a little more helpful towards the fan club (even though it's a stand alone business) they do benefit from it and frankly jusy a little more time each year spent on it's behalf would not hurt! |
The Mir@cle 08.07.2008 05:15 |
She does tons of work for us... still.. I haven't got my Barcelona tickets and I paid 75 euro's a ticket for them (while they were just 40 euro according to other sites). |
Mr. Scully 08.07.2008 06:40 |
Togg, there's nothing wrong about the fact she's paid for it. The point was that there are people who also indirectly work for Queen fans (or promote the band) and they're not paid for it - and sometimes they do a better job than Jacky. |
Togg 08.07.2008 07:37 |
It was not so much aimed at you Mr Scully, I just see a lot of folk here getting hot under the collar about the fact she gets paid. Do they do a better job? not sure, can they supply tickets? no, can they get direct contact with the band, not really What they do do well is actively use the forums to gain information and images/bootlegs and fan response. Now there I would agree that Jacky falls down a little, however, I am not sure that I am not sure I would class that as doing a better job, just a different one. If you are looking for information on any instrument played or when a concert was held then sure there our several great sites ;-) But I look on those as providing a different service, and very few fan clubs do that. At the end of the day when Queen go out on the road or release a CD it's the fan club I would turn to first to get hold of it, Jacky for example notified me several days before the Wembley concert that it was coming up, now that is something no fan site can do, so for that reason alone I would always defend her, if she can get me in to see them whenever they go out on the road, I don't care if she does nothing else all year I am happy. |
Mr. Scully 08.07.2008 08:37 |
Togg, I'd love to offer fans tickets in presale but I'm afraid that's something Jacky (and QOL) has a monopoly in... So it's not 100% fair to worship somebody for doing something if (s)he's the only one who is allowed to do that :-) |
YourValentine 08.07.2008 09:29 |
I bought my German tickets from the German fan club who took orders from everybody all over the world. The German FC works on an honorary basis, they are not paid for their service. I ordered tickets worth 1500 euros, I was sent a link to an order page where I could enter the tickets I wanted (standing or best category seats per concert), then I got a confirmation about the tickets I ordered and an invoice. After paying I got a confirmation about the payment and another email that they had all the money and had bought the tickets from the promoter. A couple of days later I had all my tickets on my desk. It was all done in a very professional and effective way. They have a very good relationship to the promoter and got us the best possible seats. I also got very helpful and friendly emails from Davide (Italian FC) and Karel Lehner (Czech FC). I did not buy from them because I cannot not go to Prague and the Italian FC had no seats on sale. I understand that Jacky takes longer to send (more?) tickets but the Germans do it in their free time for nothing but a thank you. The same I can say about Hannie from the Dutch FC who has always been extremely nice and helpful, and is generally the best and nicest person you can meet. She organises the ticket sales for the Dutch fans. All these Fan clubs organise local conventions with a lot of effort and dedication to give fans a place to meet. I am not trying to diminish Jacky's work but there are unsung heroes who devote their time and energy only to help other fans and they deserve some appreciation, too. |
Mr. Scully 08.07.2008 09:33 |
That's right :-) For example the guys in the Czech fan club do it for free and the chairman (Karel) even brought me the Prague tickets personally when he was travelling through the city where I live ;-) And the price was exactly as written on the ticket, no additional fee at all. |
Togg 08.07.2008 10:26 |
I think the key part of both of those was they do it in their free time and have 'other' jobs Jacky does it as a way to earn a living, so she will naturally charge for some services, that's just business which I have no problem with. At the end of the day she is the Official uk fan club so whilst there will always be others that do it for love they will be run in a different manor. Regarding sending tickets out, she can only do that when she recieves them, so until then she will wait with the rest of us, promoters send ticket out to other countries ahead of the UK simply to make sure they get there on time. most people who have booked the O2 via a UK operation will still be waiting for their tickets, of that I am pretty sure, most promoters have a T&C stating that they may not send out tickets until two weeks beofre the show, certainly ticketmaster does. As I say she is not without fault, but I do think she gets a bad rap a lot of the time, and it's mainly for things she has no or little control over. BTW... Worship..... NO, just not hate |
YourValentine 08.07.2008 10:32 |
I don't have a problem with Jacky running the fan club as a business. It's the band who did not want to spend any more money on the fans which caused that situation. If people are not happy with her work, they can leave, it's not that anyone is forced to be a member. |
