Hi everyone, For those of you here in the UK (and everywhere) the Ken Bruce show on Radio 2 is being hosted by Aled Jones this week who is known to be a big Queen fan. So if we all email on mass perhaps we could get Aled to give Say It's Not True some much needed airplay. This song is being crimanally ignored, it's not being played on radio or TV, can't be found in record shops and most importantly Queen Productions are NOT doing anything to publisize it. So it's being left to us the fans to help make this song a hit. If you title your email "The New Queen + Paul Rodgers Single" and send it to the address below today or tomorrow then fingers crossed he might play it ken.bruce@bbc.co.uk |

please stop this...Radio 2 is for adults, not purile nonsense... lobbying to get a song played because it's completely unmeritworthy (new word) of airtime...is pathetic.... it's a regular round here "vote for queen in this poll" "vote for ANATO in that poll" "make sure Bo Rhap wins this competition"...you don't see this going on in who/zep/beatles/floyd forums...when the f*ck will queen fans behave a bit more grown up ? then, and only then will the music media start thinking of them in terms of being a serious group rather than a novelty piss-take.. |
Freya is quietly judging you. 02.01.2008 14:47 |
Isn't he the kid that sang that snowman song?

Try something more interesting like "Here's a picture of my really massive breasts" or "Man has sex with lamp post" |

I wont take offence at you insinuation of this post being from a child either, as a 37 year old father of 2 and mortgaged upto the hilt I think I've lived enough to know if I'm capable of making a sensible judgement. I also think if you give a shit what the music press think of Queen then you should of jumped ship a long time ago, being a fan from the start surely you've realised in certain circles Queen will never be held in such esteem as the who/zep/beatles/floyd no matter how many polls they win. If and I don't expect him to, Aled Jones decides to play SINT because a few pathetic Queen / Paul Rodgers fans made him aware of it's existance then at least a few hundred thousand people who would have never have heard the track before may well get to judge it for themselves, they may well come to the same conclusion as your goodself that it's "completely unmeritworthy" but surely it merits some exposure? |

Lee, i think you've managed to miss the point i was trying to make. it's purile that there must be at least 50 thread in the last year in QZ saying "vote for this"....this give Queen the fucking credibility of an X-Factor phone-vote!! also - the idea of lobbying to get a song played that the public are not interested in is futile. lastly, as far as i and many other queen fans are concerned - the days of glory are long gone...the band will struggle to make anything worthwhile from here on in....in fact almost all of Roger's last couple of solo cds are better than anything queen have managed in the last few years... those who listen to radio 2 will know it's a fairly credible (BBC) station these days - playing lots of cool and great music...why sully it with an extremely ordinary queen track? |

Brenski I totally appreciate where you are coming from, in fact I don't think I have ever voted for Queen in any online poll, I just find it so frustrating that people wont be given the chance to judge this song for themselves. I can't see how you can say that the public aren't intersted when 99% of them are not even aware of it's existence, it's just not getting any decent exposure. I'm also with you on some of the questionable recent Queen releases, AOBTD remixes, Queen + Vanguard, Pepsi, 5ive etc, I just hope that Queen fans like ourselves give this new Queen + Paul Rodgers album a chance, I have a sneeking suspicion a lot of people are going to be pleasently suprised (Let's hope so anyway) |

Good idea you missed the point...if you'd bothered to read my subsequent posts before entering your reply...you may have understood the point i was trying to make...it makes queen about as credible as an X-factor phone vote... and, as an additional point....it still ain't made the top40 on it's opening week of release...if it was a good song, then radio 1/2 would've bothered to add it to their playlists....and then it would've sold additional/additional point....most songs are on radio playlists weeks and weeks before release these days - sometimes almost TWO months in advance ....funny how the first and only play of the first official queen single in ten years is six days AFTER release....queen (as they are currently - sounding like a cross between Free and Smile) are no longer valid enough to be a major band.... and BEFORE you criticise me again (sigh) i have followed queen - ups and downs for 33 years....any queen fan who has been around since they firs tmade it big will probably tell you the same thing...they are no longer a significant rock force...and it will be a major shock if they ever have another hit... it doesn't mean we won't forever love what they did achieve...and if (lo and behold) they ever make another great tune then - f**king fantastic!!!...i won't hold my breath waiting for that day tho....especially while there is loads of much more valid music out there to listen to right now |
