This is topic where everyone can recommend his favourite movies to the other members. You can put as much as you like. It would be cool if everyone could do it like this ^_^ AMERICAN BEAUTY(1999) link Director: Sam Mendes Actors: Kevin Spacey, Annette Bening, Thora Birch, Wes Bentley, Mena Suvari ----------------------------------------------------------------- Oscar for the best movie in the 2000. Man goes mad in his 40+, starts smoking pot, working out...quits his job and starts selling hamburgers...he turns on when he sees friend of his daugther...he told his boss that he's "mastrubating" on work...wife is cheating on him...here we also have local junky that is fliming everything with his camera...specially leaves that are "dancing" with the wind...there's also his father that is a nacist or whatever, in the end it turns out that he's gay...here are two girls....awesome movie :D |

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a horrendously bad movie. Yet so bad, that it's good. |

Amelie Weirdest movie ever, but it's strangley really really good. It's French, remember, and if they can trick the rest of the world in to believing snails taste nice, then they can trick us in to believing Amelie is a good movie, which they did. Second would be Heavenly Creatures. It's got such a strange plot it's hard to believe it all happened; everything from the dreamworld the two girls created to the killing the mother with a brick in a stocking part. I'll also give Eagle VS Shark a notable mention, it's like Napoleon Dynamite with an actual storyline and nunchucks ...and Bad Taste. It's a hard movie to come across, but like Heavenly Creatures, it's classic Peter Jackson doing what he knows best; outrageous violence! |

DUMB & DUMBER (1994) link Director: Peter Farrelly Actors: Jim Carrey, Jeff Daniels, Lauren Holly --------------------------------------------------------------- One of my favourite comedies!! I watched this movie 100000 times and I always wet myself laughing! It's about cross-country trip of the Harry & Lloyd, two hilarious and incredible stupid guys-gotta love them!! Scene with Harry and the toilet is a fu**ing classic xD |

Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller had nothing to do woth the production of this movie. It is done using basicly the same techniques and the original graphic novel is also a work by Miller wich is why it brings Sin City to mind. good movie though. Hope to see the original graphic novel printed in Portugal. Frank Miller rules. |

This is a fake documentary by Peter Jackson. It's a fictional story filmed as a documentary for creative purposes. This is why PJ doesn't have a cameo on this film (one of two in his filmography in wich it doesn't happen, the other being The Feebles for obvious reasons), it would be a dead giveaway that it was not a real documentary. |

This could be a good thread, but I'm hoping that it won't just be a list of your 20 favorite movies. Pick one. And then give us a little something. GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS - 1992 Al Pacino, Jack Lemmon, Ed Harris, Kevin Spacey, Alec Baldwin, Alan Arkin --------------- Probably the ultimate ensemble piece. A total of 4 sets used for the whole movie. Alec Baldwin's greatest role to date. |

Jack Nicholson's One Flew Over The Cockoo's nest! Great Film! I like Beautiful Girls, it's a great movie about guys who plow snow and the girls who they love. I happen to drive a snowplow. :-P It stars Matt Dillon, Uma Thurman, Mira Sorvino, Annabeth Gish, Timothy Hutton, Max Perlich Lauren Holly, Natalie Portman, Martha Plimpton, Michael Rapaport and Rosie O'Donnell. It's a great film but the DVD was only released in like Japan I think. I need the dvd as my VHS of the film broke. |

Granted that Farenheight 9/11 is biased given the objective he had, but "Bowling fo Columbine" is a great movie, that realy goes to the bottom of the issue. I personaly like the fact that he trys to listen to all the sides and oppinions on any guiven subject, or at last try since there are people who run from him like he had the plague. Documentaries are films to, so he IS a film maker like it or not. I'm not saying all his oppinions are right, and i agree with all he says, I simply like the fact that at least one person in that country is brave enought to speak out and get, at least some, people discussing what I believe are very pertinent issues, namely: Gun control, the Bush administration and how it came to be, and more recently the US healthcare system or should I say lack of. Wether you like his work or not, agree or disagree with his oppinions, you have to admit that he uses valid and logical arguments. I simply love the way he cornered then president of the NRA Charlton Heston during his interview on "Columbine" putting him in a position where he had no argument to come back into the discussion, causing him to leave the room IN HIS OWN HOUSE. Also the interview with the brother of Terry Nichols is abolutely briliant. |
Micrówave 21.11.2007 15:32 |
G-P You said he was a great film maker. Probably the best. You haven't given anything above to support that. I can video tape people also. I just don't prey on the weak minded, which is Moore's target audience. I saw Fahrenheit 9/11 and thought it was crap. I could have easily rounded up just as many people to make it look the other way. I say Bowling For Columbine. Once we got to the Corporate Office, I was out. He was grandstanding. Do you really think he cared about removing bullets from a retail counter? If you do, then I guess you're that "target audience". You also said "I personaly like the fact that he trys to listen to all the sides and oppinions on any guiven subject". Where exactly has he done this? In the two movies I saw, that was NOT done. So his movies aren't true documentaries. And they're not movies. So what is Michael Moore doing exactly? Inciting. That's all. |
