- Jason Becker - Jeff Lynne - Chris de Burgh - Ton Scherpenzeel & Pim Koopman They're not dead but except for the first one, the rest is not exactly here. They are in the land of the fucking retarded musicians, composing the crappiest music you've ever heard even tho they can write AMAZING music. Please come back... And poor Jason, just when he was leaving the neoclassical shred shit behind, he caught that fucking disease. God doesn't want guitar players to write guitar oriented music that doesn't suck, he wants them all to write neoclassical shred, rip Bach off and play nonsense scales over some boring backing track (which is what happens in 99% of the cases). |

"Why not check out whay Yngwie Malmsteen is doing." Because dead horses can only be flogged for so long. Nah, really I have tried to persist with his symphony stuff where he plays along. He just don't get the idea of what a symphony sounds like though! They're all very sound compositions but from an aural perspective, it sounds like I'm listening to classical music on my stereo and the guy next door is trying to play along. The guy next door might be very very good, but he sticks out like a sore thumb and it makes for a poor listening experience. |

Haha, seems you're not a fan of Gillan, but the biggest asshole who ever played in DP is Glenn Hughes in my opinion. His Bass playing was fantastic, but his total over the top vocals destroyed everything. His fights for the microphone with David Coverdale where rediculous, especially when Blackmore left and DP where outta control. I always loved Tommy Bolin, many fans blamed him that the band broke up in 1976, but for me the only ones to blame are Hughes and Coverdale. Many live recordings from the C.T.T.B. tour feature a great Tommy Bolin, but an endless screaming Hughes and an pissed-off Coverdale. Seems Purple had only egoistic c*nts as lead singers! But even these where better than Rod Evan's bogus DP from 1980! Have you ever seen the "Smoke in the Water" clip from their "concert" in Mexico? Scary..... |

Here's something for you. Apparently Eddie Van Halen's rhythm guitar skills didn't gel with Michael Jackson during Beat It. Mike went with his "session player's" track instead just keeping that solo by Ed and nothing else.
That session player was Steve Lukather. But I guess he's probably a "boring old fuck" in your book, too.
But let's get back to boring old fuck Tom Petty and how worthless he is to music in general.
honored with 17 Grammy Award nominations since 1981. Petty earned a Grammy Award in 1989 for Best Rock Performance By A Duo or Group (Wilburys) In 1994 he received another two Grammy Awards: Best Male Rock Vocal Performance (for "You Don't Know How It Feels") and Best Engineered Album (Non-Classical). Wildflowers also garnered a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album.wow, this is nothing, though. He's probably got no class and only cares about money. Petty was also presented with the Video Vanguard Award, citing his longtime contributions to the field. In accepting the award though, while expressing his appreciation to MTV for the award, Petty denied his work was any more important than anyone else's, saying that all artistic expression was equally valid and implicitly validating the work of up-and-coming and aspiring musicians. As a songwriter, Tom Petty was acknowledged in May 1996 with the prestigious Golden Note Award from ASCAP. Petty received UCLA's George And Ira Gershwin Award For Lifetime Musical Achievement In 2002, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.yes, before Van Halen. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers played Live Aid in 1985, too In 1996, Johnny Cash released Unchained recorded with the accompaniment of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, which won a Grammy for Best Country AlbumBut I guess Johnny Cash is probably a boring old fuck, too. Cash's following album American III: Solitary Man featured a cover of Petty's "I Won't Back Down". Petty appeared in the 1997 movie, The Postman, directed by and starring Kevin Costner. This was his 3rd appearance on the silver screen, having had a small part in the 1987 movie Made In Heaven and a cameo as himself in the 1978 film FM. In 1999 Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 7018 Hollywood Blvd Petty currently has a recurring role as Lucky in King of the Hill.and I think this one sums up Petty and the respect he's earned over the years: On the evening of November 29, 2001, Petty received word that ex-Traveling Wilburys guitarist and singer, George Harrison, had died after a long battle against cancer, and he was one of the many people to be devastated about his friend's death. Harrison and Petty had been friends since 1988. Just one year after his death, Petty & The Heartbreakers appeared in Concert For George, alongside Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton, Dhani Harrison, Ravi Shankar and Jeff Lynne. What a boring old fuck. Now, Lesson's over. |

In accepting the award though, while expressing his appreciation to MTV for the award, Petty denied his work was any more important than anyone else's, saying that all artistic expression was equally valid and implicitly validating the work of up-and-coming and aspiring musicians. As a songwriter, Tom Petty was acknowledged in May 1996 with the prestigious Golden Note Award from ASCAP.Petty received UCLA's George And Ira Gershwin Award For Lifetime Musical AchievementIn 2002, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.yes, before Van Halen.Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers played Live Aid in 1985, tooIn 1996, Johnny Cash released Unchained recorded with the accompaniment of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, which won a Grammy for Best Country AlbumBut I guess Johnny Cash is probably a boring old fuck, too.Cash's following album American III: Solitary Man featured a cover of Petty's "I Won't Back Down".Petty appeared in the 1997 movie, The Postman, directed by and starring Kevin Costner. This was his 3rd appearance on the silver screen, having had a small part in the 1987 movie Made In Heaven and a cameo as himself in the 1978 film FM.In 1999 Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 7018 Hollywood BlvdPetty currently has a recurring role as Lucky in King of the Hill.and I think this one sums up Petty and the respect he's earned over the years:On the evening of November 29, 2001, Petty received word that ex-Traveling Wilburys guitarist and singer, George Harrison, had died after a long battle against cancer, and he was one of the many people to be devastated about his friend's death. Plus you can't compare Steve Lukather, who is a great guitarist, to a poor lifeless shit like Jimmy Page. You don't haven an idea of what you're talking about. Stick to the kitchen and cook many meals, just don't talk about music |

Ergo, you're comparing the two of them like saying that they have alike levels of technical ability on the guitar whatsoever, so if I didn't like one, I probably wouldn't like the other either.<b>=VH= Eddie Van Horsie =VH= wrote: Plus you can't compare Steve Lukather, who is a great guitarist, to a poor lifeless shit like Jimmy Page. I should really stop doing this, but you're almost as fun as Treasure Moment. Almost. You might have the most expensive shit on earth, that doesn't make you a good musician at all. My guitar is cheap? Maybe, but also remember that one of the most famous guitars in the fucking world was even cheaper and I'm talking about Eddie's guitar, who is one of the best guitar players to ever live. Remember too that Brian's guitar is made out of junk. I bet you didn't know that as you sorta point out that you're better than me because you have a roland keyboard and ej's signature strat, so as the great musician you are for having expensive equipment, you can't be posting on a website about a band whose guitarist plays a piece of junk, can you? I don't have a band right now but that day I played on the streets (a week ago), some guy came to me and asked me if he could take a pic with me and he said that he hoped that he could play like me someday. I might not have earned money but some guy that didn't know me and didn't mean to listen to me, said that he admired me. I guess that's quite a bigger achievement to an artist than just earning some bucks. Scoreboard: ? "Scoreboard"? That's SO childish. You think you "win" or beat me because you have more expensive instruments. You think you know more about music than me because you have a Tom Petty shirt and he won some awards, so according to you, he must be a great artist. You think you are a better musician because you had a gig last saturday and you earned money. You're sadness itself put into a lame bag of rotten flesh and bones, mixed with sour dog cum. Give up, Macrogay. Please read what you write and try to see the incredibly stupid things you write and how stunningly idiot you are. And tell your parents that their grown up son spends his time discussing on the internet with a "kid in his momma's closet with a cheap guitar" and he feels he's so great and amazing that he's kicking the kid's ass. So they'll regret having you and beg God for his eternal divine forgiveness. I'm sure it is not their fault that you're such a moron. |
john bodega 03.10.2007 04:28 |
It's usually only from the outside looking in that you realise just how ridiculous this kind of discussion is. Discounting the musical ignorance on one side and the impending gig at Shea stadium on the other side... couldn't you guys learn to be a little happier? Granted, a musician can't be too happy otherwise every song he writes winds up being about his Yoko. But you know - it costs nothing to laugh. Why don't you find something to agree on? ie. Zebonka is a dick. Come on!! |

April 28.01.2009 18:10 |
Yes, Ritchie Blackmore and Robert Plant! You are absolutely right! I still can't understand how Ritchie got into all this...night? When will he see the day again? Living with a Night, playing in the Night, walking in the forest watching owls at night. Absolutely bewitched! Brian Jones is a very interesting idea! BTW, he was also bewitched by a certain Anita, who left him...to die... |

Another artist: Syd Barrett. He was great. If we could return him to 1967...and he would have a life without drugs... |
