As requested in this thread link I got this in a trade but this should be the lineage i took this review from link Comment: Enjoyable audience recording from Montreal 1980 and a bit remastered also. The pitch is corrected and there is no tape hiss. This recording is unfortunately not complete. It misses some songs throughout and the last part of the concert. Get Down Make Love is cut in the middle and We Will Rock You (Fast) is slightly cut at the beginning, so the short Jailhouse Rock show opener is also missing... It is slightly recorded too loud as you can hear some tiny distortions on some spots. It also has some sound dropouts here and there, but the sound itself is very clear, so that's why I rate the sound quality as Very Good. Nice performance of Need Your Loving Tonight. CD copy from master tape. No copy errors. Not from mp3. Lineage: Audience > Master tape > WAV > CDR (1) > WAV > Cool Edit Pro (Hiss Reduction) > CDR (1) Links will follow asap link link link link link link link link link link link link link link link link link link Ciao Stefano |

Please check your sources to be sure of the lineage. There are surely more CDR gens at least (it'd be safe to specify X in the CDR gens), assuming you do have the hiss-reduced copy rooted straight from the master tape. |

I have to admit..... i do not know how to do it [/img] but I would be glad to learn more Stefano |

Audience > Master tape > WAV > CDR (1) > WAV > Cool Edit Pro (Hiss Reduction) > CDR (X) instead of Audience > Master tape > WAV > CDR (1) > WAV > Cool Edit Pro (Hiss Reduction) > CDR (1) ;) |

Basically, the lineage is a piece of information that says exactly where the recording has been. The person who gave you the recording (or where you download it from) should have that information, and it should be passed along each time the recording circulates from one person to another. This is important so that you can differentiate between different versions of a show and, ultimately, the only way to ensure the best possible recording of a show is circulating. So, if the person you got it from didn't have that information, then you'd have something like this: AUD > ? > CDR (x) > WAV > FLAC level 8 AUD means it's an audience recording (as opposed to a recording that came from the soundboard, video, radio, etc.) while the X and ? mark anything that's unknown. And if it's an audience recording of this age, it's usually safe to assume it was recorded on a cassette. But in a case like this, it's definitely safe to include "cassette" in the lineage if a master cassette is confirmed to exist. So, this would work too: AUD > Cassette (x) > ? > CDR (x) > WAV > FLAC level 8 Hope this helps. |

Yes I did, thanks a lot :) I was asking because I compared my version of WWRY fast (with no lineage) and it sounds the same, so I wanna be sure if I can write down the lineage to my list :) |

I have the flac that is shared in this thread. The main problem with this version is that Save Me which is claimed to be on the master and is on the mp3 version is not here. I'm In Love With My Car 08. Get Down Make Love 09. You're My Best Friend 10. Save Me 11. Need Your Loving Tonight 12. Now I'm Here 13. Dragon Attack 14. Now I'm Here (Reprise) 15. Fat Bottomed Girls 16. Love Of My Life 17. Keep Yourself Alive 18. Crazy Little Thing Called Love 19. Bohemian Rhapsody 20. Another One Bites The Dust Does someone has a flac version which includes Save Me? |

So the obvious question is "what happened to Save Me"? Is it out there in lossless? |
The Real Wizard 07.02.2009 11:16 |
I got this from the taper many years ago, but someone down the line removed Save Me for reasons of their own and re-tracked the recording. There's no point in having any kind of lineage since this is now technically a compilation of two versions, one of which didn't have the lineage passed along. There is a small part that repeats. Just download and enjoy! link |

Sir GH wrote: I got this from the taper many years ago, but someone down the line removed Save Me for reasons of their own and re-tracked the recording. For nefarious purposes no doubt. I'd like to think that nobody here would have done that but you never know... [/img] Looks like I'm gonna have to trade someone for a proper version of this RoIO. Any offers? |
