following on from the maths one elsewhere on this board, heres one for the people that like word puzzles: take a word of 10 letters.5 of which are vowels and 5 of which are consonants.remove a letter I from the word, and rearrange the remaining 9 letters to form a word that is a synonym of the first word. what are the 2 words? same rules as last time.you have one week to give the answer. have fun jox |

I honestly have no idea. But don't worry, Jox, I'll ask my brother and dad for help - maybe their combined brainpower will find the answer, because I sure can't! |
Fur 17.05.2007 19:08 |
Surely this is practically impossible? |
JoxerTheDeityPirate 18.05.2007 10:37 |
there is an answer.we just havent found it yet. |
Fur 19.05.2007 09:22 |
I'm sure there is an answer. What I mean is that it can't be "worked out" just by thinking about it. Someone needs to write a computer program or something. |
JoxerTheDeityPirate 19.05.2007 10:57 |
i went onto a site that does synonym's but without knowing what one of the words is proved fruitless. for those that are unfamiliar with the term,it means this: a word that has the same meaning as another word for an example: student=pupil |
JoxerTheDeityPirate 21.05.2007 07:48 |
i may of found the answer but i will give it another couple of days to see if anyone else comes up with a better one before i post what i think it is. |

Well Joxer, it would seem you've already successfully answered your own question. You're in the UK, have you heard of the service called Any Question Answered (text 63336 you get one free question from their website as well), they've never failed me yet and I sent them your question, cheating I know. They replied "The 2 words are repairable and reparable. Repairable has 10 letters with 5 vowels & 5 consonants. Removing the 'i' gives reparable which is a synonym." The time taken for them to answer was 2 minutes - don't know how they do it!! |

Thing is, the letters haven't been re-arranged and it's not really a synonym; just a different spelling. Or am I being pedantic? |

Spud 24.05.2007 11:14 |
You're right about the lack of being re-arranged, but it is a synonym not just a different spelling. |
