O__O I'm in outer-space ! D: Since I know you want criticism (a word my dictionary has just informed me that I can't spell - then again, I already knew that)... The only thing that really stuck out to me as, in my opinion, "bad" was that your voice seems to get thinner/strained on some of the parts like "stormy weather soon", "somebody new", "intoxicated with", et cetera. I don't know if this is on purpose or not (I think it would be rather hard for someone with a higher-set range to imitate the "breathy" sound that Freddie got by going into another register). Though they are neat effects - it would be easier to give "critique" to if it was just "plain". :P Some of the over-dubs also pick up "fuzz", but I don't blame you - I, personally, hate the microphone on my computer. :P Other than that, I think you did well. :D Do you think this is the best part of your range ? If you wanted to share again, I have some suggestions - but it's based on "where" you want to sing. Keep it up ! :D |

Keep it up ! :Dhaha, honestly? i dont know where the best part of my range is :-/ i guess its around there. it changes everyday. i was more of an alto that day, tomorrow i might be a soprano :-p some days, other parts of my range are easier than others. yeah it was strained on higher notes only because i was singing quietly. its hard to hold back high notes >.< so i was sorta whispering....i sound like a little girl >.< hahaha thank you though! im working on more stuff (although i sound like crap today, cuz im really tired from working on projects and perfecting some of my own other songs) i might upload another tonight. its plain, with some harmonies, so better for critiquing. im doing a mix between freddie's version and dusty springfields 'going back'. its meh, in my opinion. its not so often my parents arent home so i can have the privacy of recording. so im taking advantage of the past couple hours, on a day im not sounding my best :-/ im also trying to place the mic in different spots so it doesnt pick up too much 'fuzz' like you said. i tried to filter out as much as possible. |

^^^ If you have a programme to block Javascript - you may have to allow the host web-site. I was going "Ahhh - it won't let me !!!" and then I remembered I block all script that I don't "approve", so I had to "allow" it. :P |

<i>Donny Mars wrote: you sound like Aaron Carter, try singing a rock song if your want my respect. that is all.I respect Montserrat Caballé (who I suspect you might have heard of maybe kinda) - who to my knowledge, has never sang "rock" (well, professionally - I can't say if she ever sang along with something for fun). Some voices just aren't built for "rock". It's good to try different things - but some things are not for everyone. For instance, I once heard a (very) Dramatic Mezzo-Soprano sing the "Habañera" aria from "Carmen" - it wasn't meant for her voice (the "dramatic" was the problem - though she would have been great in perhaps other roles that called for such a sound). Each voice is different. Some are suited for pop, some "rock", some classical, some Jazz - some people can do more than one effectively - but the mastery of a certain one should not be prerequisite for "respect" to be obtained. :) |
deleted user 02.05.2007 21:42 |
I didn't mean it like that, I think that this piticular voice would be suited to somthing between rock and ballad, Spread Your Wings for example, I would love to listen to this person doing that song. |
deleted user 02.05.2007 21:48 |
^ I agree - "Spead Your Wings" is a good one ! John wrote a lot of nice "light" ones. |
sparrow 21754 02.05.2007 22:11 |
how the hell do i sound like aaron carter? ....as for the respect factor, im not gonna even bother ranting about that, you basically proved youre an arrogant prick for putting yourself on a pedestal on how i sang something that wasnt to your liking and somehow i should gain your respect? you certainly dont deserve mine. think wisely if youre going to speak, because you certainly arent on a decent caliber of singing to critique if youre going to talk that way, child! |
