Hi guys,
After our initial launch last year, we discovered a few legal hoops we had to jump through before continuing with the musical charity project. One of the most important changes we have had to make is the band name - we are now simply called vQp. However, never fear, the music is the same and the project to raise money for the Mercury Phoenix Trust continues unaltered. Now that we have done all the boring red tape stuff, we are now in a position to release some new material!
The first new track to be released is the Mercury-penned ballad You Take My Breath Away. It is quite a departure from the first two tracks. It is piano based, with the lovely, and extremely talented, Inmaculada Villarrubia playing for the first time on a vQp track (though it is unlikely to be her last appearance). The song also features Matthew on vocals and Si on bass. The vQp version of this song has a stripped back, retro feel and we don't think it will disappoint.
We have taken the decision to release this track at the higher price of £1.50. This is so that we can raise more money for the charity, and follows feedback from many people who said that once they had logged on and filled in an online payment form, they thought it would be more worthwhile to pay more for the tracks, as the proceeds from the sales go to the Mercury Phoenix Trust.
Another development in the online shop is that it now accepts PayPal, and UK buyers can buy via SMS. So you have no excuse not to get over to link and buy "You Take My Breath Away" and the other songs if you don't already have them!
By the way, the vQp forums (link haven't seen a whole lot of traffic, so how about going along and signing up. You can chat to the band, ask a question, offer your services to the project or request songs for the future, so sign up today.
Talking of future songs, we have quite a few lined up, so watch this space. We should be releasing songs more regularly throughout the next few months. See the forums and link for more details.
We hope you enjoy this latest release and thank you ever so much for your continued support.
It shouldn't be so long before we get in touch again!
All the best from,
Matthew (beobrand), Si and Mac
